Chapter 696: Chapter 438: Cute Star’s Flying Crash

Com-plete... Ma-gic... Im-mu-ni-ty!

Zhou Chen’s jaw dropped. He wisely cut off the Life-taking Curse and said helplessly, "How about you give me a little hint about what other tricks you have up your sleeve?"

Onawaro’s draconic eyes suddenly flashed, like the intense white light from an oversized searchlight. Zhou Chen was immediately enveloped by a blinding, tide-like torrent of white light.

A few seconds later, the light faded.

The surrounding scene changed abruptly. It was no longer the majestic Divine Hall filled with ancient charm, but a cozy little log cabin.

Snowflakes drifted down outside the window, and a cold wind battered the doors and panes. A fire blazed in the hearth, the firewood crackling merrily. At some point, Zhou Chen found himself lying on a sofa draped with soft furs, a pliant, delicate body nestled in his arms.

In this comfortable environment, a lazy drowsiness washed over him, making him want to drift off to sleep.

But in the next moment, the anti-hypnosis measure Jiang Che had set up for him activated. With the crisp sound of a finger snap, Zhou Chen’s mind cleared instantly, and he tore through the illusion with his own Willpower.

His consciousness returned.

Less than an inch from his face, a sharp dragon claw had stopped dead in its tracks.

"Not bad. You woke up quickly," Onawaro said with approval.

"Aren’t you an Elemental Dragon? How do you have a hypnosis Ability too?" Zhou Chen asked, shocked.

"I just happen to know a few extra things," Onawaro said humbly.

It retracted its claw and added, "Do you have any other Weapons?"

Zhou Chen materialized the Demon-Breaking Sword in his left hand and the Dream Light and Shadow in his right.

"Come, strike me."

Onawaro extended its tail.

Without hesitation, Zhou Chen struck it with the Demon-Breaking Sword. With a loud CLANG, sparks flew. The blade, which had always been invincible, was actually repelled, not even leaving a scratch on the scales.

Zhou Chen then thrust with Dream Light and Shadow. DING! Sparks flew, but the pure white scales remained completely unscathed.

The recoil made his hand tremble slightly, and he felt a headache coming on. ’Invulnerable?’

"The vast majority of Weapons cannot breach my defenses. The exception is that previous weapon you used—that was a Dragon-Slaying Blade, stained with Dragon Blood," Onawaro said.

If there was a designer, Zhou Chen would have definitely screamed, "Gaia designer! Do you have any idea what I’m going through?!" He’d then demand to know what kind of madman would create such a heavyweight monster.

You’re right, but this is White Dragon Onawaro. It’s unstoppable, has super armor, has shields, has crowd control, and it’s an ultra-rare Elemental Dragon that can use Skills of all Attributes at will. It’s got a tough hide, it’s invulnerable to blades and spears, its Spiritual Power is immense, its burst damage is off the charts, its mobility is unbelievably high, and it has... com-plete... ma-gic... im-mu-ni-ty!

Overpowered! Absolutely overpowered!

Even a world-destroying Forbidden Curse-level Magic would be nothing more than a tickle to it.

And Zhou Chen just happened to be a glass cannon Mage Style player.

But there was no need to be too pessimistic. With his deluxe set of equipment, he could still put up a fight even without Magic.

"Try this on for size."

Zhou Chen switched to the Arm Cannon: Heaven Shattering, cranked it to maximum power, and unleashed a thick Laser Cannon blast of terrifying heat.

Onawaro thought it was Magic and confidently puffed out its chest. However, it quickly realized something was wrong. The searing pillar of light had no trace of a magical aura.

BOOM!

A shockwave erupted. Onawaro’s massive body was sent flying backward, crashing hard against the stone wall at the far end of the hall. Several stone pillars were shattered along the way, collapsing with a deafening roar. Dust billowed, fragments flew, and the Divine Hall trembled as if in an earthquake. A horrifying crack split open on the stone wall.

However, as powerful as the attack seemed, it only depleted a tiny sliver of Onawaro’s health bar.

"What is this Weapon?" Onawaro asked as it climbed to its feet. A patch of its white chest scales was now scorched black.

"Human technology, Giant Dragon," Zhou Chen said, blowing away the wisp of smoke rising from the cannon’s muzzle.

"So this is what you call technology? It’s been quite an eye-opener."

A bone-chilling killing intent rose from Onawaro. Its eyes turned fierce and savage. "Then let me see just how powerful this so-called human technology really is!"

BOOM!

A thick beam of intense light shot forward.

This time, Onawaro was prepared. It reached out with a dragon palm glowing with pure white light and clenched its fist, easily crushing the Laser Cannon blast and setting off a surging shockwave.

—Grip of the Giant Dragon!

Space shattered like a mirror as black, void-like cracks spread rapidly. Onawaro vanished from its spot and instantly reappeared in front of Zhou Chen, its dragon palm, wreathed in pure white Thunderbolt, slamming down fiercely.

CLANG!

Zhou Chen transformed into an afterimage, darting out from under the world-destroying thunderous strike. A flash of silver light from his blade streaked past, leaving a deep, bloody gash on Onawaro’s claw.

’It’s true that you need the right tool for the job. To fight a Giant Dragon, you need a Dragon Slaying Technique!’

SWISH!

The dozen-meter-long tail, wrapped in a terrifying shockwave, swept toward him. Zhou Chen spun and slid, swinging his Tachi through the air in a graceful arc.

As its tail swept by, Onawaro used the momentum to spin in place, raising its right arm high, wreathed in draconic thunder.

’That’s the opening move for the Life-taking Soul-chasing Triple Strike!’

Having experienced this move before, Zhou Chen immediately focused his full attention, observing every minute detail of Onawaro’s body.

In a flash, Onawaro’s dragon palm twitched slightly.

’Now!’

Zhou Chen’s eyes narrowed and he immediately used Foresight. But the unexpected happened—Onawaro didn’t slam its palm down right away. It waited a brief moment, bringing its palm down fiercely only after Zhou Chen had completed his Foresight move.

’Fuck, it’s a delayed attack!’
