Chapter 1543: Blacklisted!

Lydia’s ankle was red and swollen, and when Jorge Saxton’s fingers gently touched it, he instinctively applied a very light touch, fearing she might feel pain.

Lydia’s gaze was on Jorge Saxton’s quiet and deep profile. Somehow, her fingers tightened slightly, and she turned her eyes away.

Lydia, you can’t keep looking at this person. This man is like poison. Don’t get addicted again and be unable to quit.

Did you forget how you managed when you lost him during that time?

"Cancel all engagements for the next few days, wait until you recover," Jorge Saxton said blandly as he rubbed Lydia’s wound.

"No, many engagements have been confirmed, and I can’t change them, like the show recording, I certainly can’t be absent," Lydia directly refused, "My injury isn’t that serious; I can manage."

"Right, it’s not serious. Is it only serious when your foot is crippled? Lydia, was your ankle so bad just now? But you endured the pain and danced at the fan meeting, wearing high heels and standing for so long, which worsened the injury! Now, do you still want to keep busy every day with your injury?"

If Lydia still couldn’t hear the anger in Jorge Saxton’s tone, then she’d never been with Jorge long enough.

Lydia looked down at her injury, her voice calm and composed, "When I stepped into this industry, these are things I should bear. Artists are different from ordinary people."

Sometimes, in rushing for a shoot, there are days with just a few hours of sleep, and there are injuries during filming while maintaining composure on set. This injury, compared to all that hardship and fatigue, is nothing.

Jorge Saxton stood up, glaring at Lydia with anger, "Lydia, do you have to torment yourself? Your company contract is up in a few months, right? No need to renew! Retire!"

"Jorge Saxton, you have no right to decide my life!" Lydia said calmly as she looked at Jorge.

"Lydia, don’t push me. When your contract expires, even if you renew with your agency, if I interfere, you won’t take on a single role! I’m asking you to retire in a few months; do you agree?"

"I disagree! Jorge Saxton, my work is my own business. You have the power to ban me with just one word, but I won’t retire! Even for background roles, I won’t retire!"

Back then, she was wholeheartedly focused only on him. Later, after leaving him, she picked up her dream of becoming an actor. Now she’s moving forward, step by step; why should she retire?

Jorge Saxton’s anger intensified, "Are you forcing me to use tactics against you? What’s so appealing in the entertainment industry that you want to stay? Is it Zachary Houston?"

Jorge regretted his words as soon as they left his mouth, but spoken words are like spilled water, impossible to recover.

Lydia paused, looking at Jorge, then lightly laughed: "My affairs have nothing to do with you, Young Master Saxton. You take your path; I take mine. There’s no need for us to be too entangled. Besides, whether past or present, I’ve never interfered with you dating other women, and you certainly don’t have the right to interfere with me now. The path I want to take is my own, don’t trouble yourself."

"No chance for ’Fallen City 2,’ ’The First Female Minister,’ or ’Youth.’ Lydia, if you won’t retire, then from now on all your resources will be given to others!"

"Jorge Saxton! You—"

Was Jorge Saxton going to sabotage and ban her?

With just one word from him, not to mention anything else, Era Corporation’s ’Fallen City 2’ would immediately swipe her lead actress role!
