Love Strategy: CEO He is Really Scheming!
Chapter 1542: My Turf, My Rules
Lydia Brooke looked deeply at Jorge Saxton, her voice somewhat distant, "Are you helping me reach the height I want?"
Height—
She entered the entertainment industry not seeking fame; she once believed he could give her what she wanted, only to realize it was all a dream.
"Lydia, what you want, I’ll give you. You want the position of Best Actress, right? Fine, I’ll help you get there! But you have to promise me, that once you achieve this position, you’ll leave the industry and live a good life, okay?"
Lydia’s hand holding the chopsticks stiffened a bit as she looked into Jorge’s earnest eyes, then suddenly smiled, "Jorge Saxton, your acting is indeed superb." She almost fell for it.
The concern he showed almost made her believe him.
"I won’t quit acting; what I want, I will fight for myself. Since I’ve entered this field, I will achieve the highest honor. Jorge Saxton, I don’t need your help; I believe I have the ability to eventually earn this honor."
The meal left both of them eventually without appetite.
Jorge was upset, but watching Lydia in her high heels, he got up, bent over, and carried her upstairs.
"Rest here tonight. If I send you back, I think you’d be worried about being photographed."
Lydia pursed her lips, didn’t respond, which was considered agreement.
Jorge carried Lydia into the master bedroom. Upon seeing the color scheme, Lydia knew it was Jorge’s room.
"I’ll sleep in the guest room—" Lydia’s heart was racing.
Jorge glanced at her, placing her by the bed to sit, and then went into the bathroom to run the bathwater.
A few minutes later Jorge came out, looking at Lydia, "The bath is ready. Go have a soak to relax. I’ll stay in the guest room."
While speaking, Jorge grabbed a pair of his slippers for Lydia to wear, helping her change out of her high heels.
"Jorge Saxton, I can do it myself—"
Lydia’s face was somewhat unnatural.
Jorge ignored her, his presence indifferent as he crouched next to Lydia, helping her change shoes before carrying her into the bathroom.
"Jorge Saxton, leave—I can do it myself, my foot injury isn’t that bad." Lydia struggled to get down.
Jorge bent slightly to set Lydia down, "If anything happens, call me. If you fall, I’ll rush right in."
"...Alright."
Dandy Man, the cool villain!
Lydia murmured inwardly.
Jorge turned and left, shutting the door behind him. Lydia carefully undressed and took a bath in the tub.
Half an hour later when Lydia emerged, Jorge was sitting by the bed, holding a bottle while examining a piece of paper.
Lydia hopped on one foot closer to Jorge.
"Sit down."
Just two simple words, very indifferent.
Following the idea of yielding under someone else’s roof, Lydia sat at the edge of the bed, silently.
Jorge poured some liquid from the bottle into his palm, took Lydia’s foot, and rubbed the swollen area.
"I can do it myself—I’m able to do it myself—" Lydia’s voice was low and gentle, mixed with discomfort.
Jorge glanced at her, "My territory, my rules."
Lydia felt her breath caught in her throat, unable to release it.
She hated the current situation. She had struggled to leave him and started a new life; why was she being tangled up again, making her heart race?
His actions today made her heart jump uncontrollably, which was not a good thing. One fall was enough; if Lydia fell into Jorge Saxton’s hands again, it would just be her own foolishness.
After all these years, so many years of youth spent, only for him to ultimately be unwilling to marry her?
Lydia, oh Lydia, don’t fall into his trap again, you must stay clear-headed.
