Chapter 1547: Go Back to Where You Came From, I Couldn’t Care Less!

Derek Brooke said in a light tone: "If you have to choose between me and men, you should definitely choose me. After all, we share blood, and they don’t. It’s natural for them to abandon you, but if I did, it would be heartless. So, choosing me means not worrying about someone to take care of you, but choosing a man means worrying he’ll kick you out once he finds someone else. Right?"

Derek Brooke’s serious demeanor amused Lydia Brooke. Just seeing her cherished heart, her mood brightened.

When Beau Haston returned, mother and son tacitly avoided the earlier topic.

The meal was joyful, and after they finished, Lydia Brooke waved to the waiter to get the bill. The waiter smiled and said to Lydia Brooke, "Miss, your boyfriend has already paid. We look forward to your next visit."

Lydia Brooke’s eyes shifted to Beau Haston in surprise, "I said it was my treat, and this is City C, I should host to thank you."

"It’s all the same, don’t make it so clear. We’ve been good friends for years." Beau Haston smiled very gentlemanly and elegantly, his casual suit enhancing his tall charm, and his mixed features were very pleasing to the eye.

The waiter chuckled at the two of them, "Sir and Miss, you don’t need to be so precise, after all, couples don’t differentiate."

"We’re good friends... I’ll treat next time." Lydia Brooke smiled, taking her purse and heading outside.

When the three of them left the restaurant, night had already fallen. Lydia Brooke let her hair down on both sides, gently covering her side profile, giving her a graceful and intellectual look.

Lydia Brooke took Beau Haston and Derek Brooke back to her apartment to stay. Once home, she washed some fruits and placed them out, and the three sat in the living room chatting and laughing.

Derek Brooke, used to sleeping early because of school, was set up to rest in the guest bedroom by Lydia Brooke.

"Miss Brooke, can I ask which of your recent rumors are true?" Derek Brooke asked, eyes wide open, looking at Lydia Brooke.

Lydia Brooke pursed her lips slightly, "Don’t look at those reports, they’re all nonsense. In this circle, there’s always a lot of drama."

"I don’t think Zachary Houston and Young Lee are your type either. I just wanted to ask; this makes me feel better. You know how afraid I am that you’ll tell me Scumbag Houston or Young Lee is my biological dad? It makes my sleep quality horrendous." Derek Brooke grumbled, pouting.

Seeing his expression, Lydia Brooke’s eyes grew a bit dazed, and she couldn’t help but recall another face.

"Miss Brooke, please snap out of it, what are you thinking?" Derek Brooke waved his hand in front of Lydia Brooke.

Snapped out of her thoughts, Lydia Brooke shook her head, "It’s nothing, you go to sleep, goodnight."

"You go out now, go keep Uncle Haston company."

"You just want me to get married quickly, is that so? You really want a stepfather?"

"More people to care for you, more people to love me, it’s overall good. Miss Brooke, although it’s not nice to speak ill of elders, I must say, your taste before wasn’t great; you met a scumbag, one unwilling to take responsibility. Until now, he hasn’t legitimatized us as mother and son. Such a scumbag won’t hear me call him dad. The world doesn’t lack men; he can come and go as he pleases, I don’t care."

Lydia Brooke pursed her lips, feeling somewhat heavy-hearted over Derek Brooke’s words as she walked out of the room and closed the door.

Lydia Brooke stepped out and saw Beau Haston standing quietly by the floor-to-ceiling window in the living room. She walked over.

"Beau Haston, what are you looking at?"

Beau Haston turned slightly to look at Lydia Brooke, her beautiful face drawing a smile from him, "Just seeing if City C’s moon is different, if it’s more dazzling. Otherwise, why would you be so enamored with staying here and not going back?"
