Chapter 788: Chapter 392: Solving the Hundred Poisons Body (Part 2)
As he spoke, he went to brew the tea himself.
He had picked up this habit from his older brother back at the Cheng Family Manor.
Cheng Zongyang didn’t refuse. It was a rare moment of leisure. Once the remaining matters were settled, he would have to enter seclusion again to reach the Nascent Soul realm as quickly as possible.
"I have a lot on my plate, but it’s different."
Cheng Zongyang felt a sense of peace as he watched his younger brother brew the tea. He said,
"With you all managing the affairs of the Realm of Ten Thousand Races, I can relax a bit. I’ll have to go back into seclusion again soon. By the way, how is everyone at home? I haven’t been back in a long time. Has Mom been mentioning me?"
While brewing the tea, Cheng Zongliang smiled. "Everyone’s fine. With Elixirs to keep them healthy, Dad, Mom, our uncles, and Grandpa are all doing great. And yes, she mentions you.
It’s just as you said, Big Brother: exceptional children can’t always stay by their parents’ side. But don’t worry, I still go back to visit occasionally, and our younger sister goes back often too."
As if he had become a chatterbox, Cheng Zongliang continued,
"Mom and Dad understand. They always say that the current foundations of the Cheng Family and the Zhou Family are all thanks to your hard work. The family’s legacy is what’s important. The issue now, though, is that Dad is thinking about having another child."
At this, Cheng Zongliang couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
Cheng Zongyang was puzzled. "What’s going on?"
Cheng Zongliang suppressed his laughter.
"He sees that we’re both always away, and even though we’re long past the age of settling down, neither of us has started a family. They see that our older cousin has a child now, and they want grandchildren of their own. So, they’re thinking of having one more, someone who can inherit the ancestral estate at Cheng Family Manor in the future. He thinks having the two of us out in the world is enough."
"Our older cousin has a child? When did that happen? How come no one told me?" Cheng Zongyang’s eyes lit up as he spoke with delight.
"I didn’t know at first either. I only found out last year when I was drinking with Brother Zhendong and he told me."
Cheng Zongliang was still smiling. "It’s all because of that rule you set, that men and women should wait until they’re twenty to have children. That’s why it was delayed a few years. But the baby was born last year. His name is Zhou Xingzu, a boy. I went back for the hundred-day celebration and prepared a gift on your behalf. I told everyone you were tied up in the Cultivation Immortality Realm and couldn’t make it back. They all understood."
As he spoke, he handed over the freshly brewed tea and continued,
"And you know what, Big Brother? Xingzu’s aptitude is quite good. He has Five Spirit Roots and a Dual Spirit Bone. Our older cousin is planning to start him on medicinal baths after he turns three."
Cheng Zongyang nodded, accepting the tea. "Three years old is fine. Second Uncle already modified the formula, so it won’t be like scalding a chick anymore."
"HAHAHA." Recalling what happened in the past, Cheng Zongliang burst into laughter.
"What about your own affairs? Zhaodi and Laidi have been waiting for you for a long time," Cheng Zongyang asked suddenly, taking a light sip of his tea.
Cheng Zongliang nodded. "Don’t worry. Both of them are now cultivators at the Third Level of Qi Cultivation. They’re helping manage things at the manor and don’t want to leave. They have Dual and Three Spirit Roots, but they just aren’t interested in Cultivation. If I hadn’t forced the issue, they wouldn’t even want to practice.
It’s different now that they’re cultivators. I’m thinking that once things at the Intelligence Department have stabilized in the next year or two, I’ll go back and get married. That should also fulfill Mom and Dad’s wish for grandchildren. Otherwise, if they have another son or daughter, the age gap will be huge."
Cheng Zongyang gave a slight smile. "Then it’s settled. I definitely won’t be settling down that quickly. There’s too much to do in the Realm of Ten Thousand Races. You should tell Brother Zhendong the same thing—it’s fine now. The family needs more core disciples."
"I understand," Cheng Zongliang said.
"What about Zongyan? Have her come over," Cheng Zongyang said, changing the subject.
"Alright." Cheng Zongliang took out his Ten Thousand Races Spirit Seal and used Spiritual Communication.
"Do you need her for something, Big Brother?" Cheng Zongliang asked.
"The main reason I came this time is to solve the problem with her physique."
Cheng Zongyang didn’t mention the Creation Space, saying only, "Simply suppressing the Hundred Poisons Body isn’t a long-term solution. Only by controlling it can we unleash the true advantages of this physique."
Understanding dawned on Cheng Zongliang.
A moment later, Cheng Zongyan’s shout echoed from outside before she even appeared.
"First Cousin! Second Cousin! I’m here!"
Then, the two of them saw the mischievous Cheng Zongyan burst into the office like a gust of wind.
The moment she saw Cheng Zongyang, she ran over excitedly and threw her arms around him.
"Haha, First Cousin, it’s been so long! I’ve missed you to death!"
This girl left Cheng Zongyang at a loss for whether to laugh or cry. "You’re getting more boisterous the older you get."
"Hee hee, I’m still a kid. Mom says you’re a kid until you’re married, and I don’t want to become a grown-up," the girl chirped. Like a nimble fawn, she released him from the hug and casually strolled over to Cheng Zongliang’s desk to grab a Spirit Fruit to eat.
Cheng Zongyang and Cheng Zongliang exchanged a helpless glance.
Looking at his young cousin, it was only then that Cheng Zongyang belatedly realized that his family members had all grown up. They no longer looked as they did in his childhood memories.
Cheng Zongyan was already nineteen. Her skin was as fair and pure as the first snow, and her eyes shone as brightly as twinkling stars. When she smiled, two faint dimples would appear at the corners of her mouth, adding to her playful charm.
By nature, she was mischievous and unrestrained. That clever spirit of hers was like a small sun hidden within her, radiating vitality wherever she went. Every gesture and every word carried a unique charm—an interweaving of slyness and innocence that left one feeling both fond and helpless.
"Whether you get married or not will depend on what Second Uncle and Second Aunt have to say about it," Cheng Zongyang said as he sat down. "I called you here today to resolve the issue of your Hundred Poisons Body."
Cheng Zongyan, who was munching on a Spirit Fruit, froze. "You found a way to fix it?" she asked, her voice full of delighted surprise.
Cheng Zongyang nodded, then looked at Cheng Zongliang. "I’m taking her with me for a bit. You can get back to your work."
"Alright," Cheng Zongliang nodded.
Then he looked at Cheng Zongyan. "Let’s go."
"Huh? Where are we going?" Cheng Zongyan asked, looking curious.
Cheng Zongyang just smiled without answering. He placed a hand on her shoulder, and the girl instantly fell into a deep sleep. He then gathered her into his arms, and in the next moment, they both vanished.
「Reincarnation Space.」
Cheng Zongyang appeared, holding the unconscious Cheng Zongyan, and placed her in the void.
"Ring Spirit, is everything ready?"
The Ring Spirit replied, "Everything is complete. We can begin at any time."
"Then let’s begin."
And so, the Ring Spirit utilized the rules of the Reincarnation Space and began to strip away Cheng Zongyan’s Primordial Spirit, memories, Cultivation, Abilities, and so on.
After everything was stripped away, each component was sealed individually, leaving behind only an empty shell of a body.
Cheng Zongyang then took these components to the Creation Space.
The Ring Spirit handled the rest of the process. A new body, identical to the empty shell, levitated in mid-air.
As the Ring Spirit worked, the Primordial Spirit, memories, Cultivation, physical strength, Abilities—everything Cheng Zongyan had acquired—were integrated into the new body one by one. Afterward, Spiritual Qi was infused to aid the fusion.
Cheng Zongyang watched the entire time. The fusion process was not as fast as the extraction.
After all, the Primordial Spirit needed time to adapt to its new vessel.
About three days later, the Ring Spirit’s voice announced, "Fusion complete."
Cheng Zongyang, who had been cultivating cross-legged, immediately opened his eyes. "Did everything go smoothly? There won’t be any problems, right?"
The Ring Spirit replied, "It went very smoothly. There will be no issues. The methods for controlling and enhancing the Hundred Poisons Body have also been integrated into her memories."
"Thank you," Cheng Zongyang said with a smile.
He then carried his cousin back to Cheng Zongliang’s office.
When Cheng Zongliang saw his older brother and his still-unconscious cousin return, he asked, "Big Brother, how did it go?"
"It’s done," said Cheng Zongyang. "Take her somewhere to rest. She’ll understand the changes to her physique when she wakes up."
"Alright." Cheng Zongliang took his cousin from him.
Cheng Zongyang then said, "I’ll be entering seclusion soon. When exactly are you getting married?"
"Big Brother, your affairs are more important. The wedding is just..."
"Just tell me the date," Cheng Zongyang said, glaring. "Would it be right for me to miss my own brother’s wedding?"
"Alright, alright, alright." Cowed by the glare, Cheng Zongliang immediately relented. "Dad said to hold it on the twenty-sixth of the twelfth lunar month, the year after next. It’s a good day, right before the New Year."
Cheng Zongyang smiled. ’That’s a well-chosen date, combining the wedding and the New Year celebration.’
"Alright, I’ll be there," Cheng Zongyang said, patting his shoulder. "Thanks for all your hard work. And keep a close eye on our younger sister."
"Okay." Cheng Zongliang pressed his lips together and nodded.
Cheng Zongyang returned to the Hall of Ten Thousand Races and once again entered seclusion.
