Chapter 359 -195: At Worst, a Fight

‘Uncle Dou is saying… that man is his honored guest?’

‘I’m screwed!!!!’

Those few words were all it took for Supervisor Zheng’s mind to explode!

‘Who was Uncle Dou?’

‘Even that legendary Grandmaster had to show Uncle Dou some respect.’

‘His status on this street was enough to make everyone bow their heads when they saw him.’

‘And now, Uncle Dou was saying… that young man was his honored guest.’

Supervisor Zheng suddenly felt his legs go weak, his heart seized as if by an invisible hand.

He whipped his head around to look at Dong Hui.

‘Could this bastard be putting on an act to screw with me?’

But Dong Hui’s expression was even more dramatic than his. He was so dumbfounded his mouth could have fit a whole egg, and the fat on his face quivered with shock.

Supervisor Zheng was utterly baffled.

‘No… what’s going on?’

Dong Hui had no time for him. His head swiveled from Uncle Dou to Wan Ze, then back to Uncle Dou, and back to Wan Ze again. He desperately wanted to ask Wan Ze on the spot…

‘You know Uncle Dou?!’

‘If I’d known earlier, I would’ve landed a heavy slap on that bastard Zheng myself!’

Supervisor Zheng snapped back to his senses.

His body reacted faster than his brain.

He spun around and kicked the bodyguard standing in front of Wan Ze.

The kick landed hard on the bodyguard’s shin.

“Get out of the way! Who told you to stand there!”

He roared, his current panic a stark contrast to his earlier arrogance.

The bodyguard was stunned. He sidestepped away to the wall, standing beside the other bodyguard. Both their faces were filled with fear and unease. Neither of them had expected Uncle Dou to appear, much less for this unregistered, mysterious man to be his honored guest.

This time, they had truly picked a fight with the wrong person.

Supervisor Zheng turned back to face Wan Ze.

“Sir, a misunderstanding, this is all a misunderstanding! I was blind not to recognize your importance. I’m so sorry for offending you! You’re a bigger man than I am, please don’t stoop to my level!”

As he spoke, he took two quick steps and kicked the other bodyguard, whose body visibly swayed from the impact.

“What are you standing there for? Apologize!” Supervisor Zheng roared.

The two bodyguards looked at each other, but they still obediently lowered their heads to Wan Ze. “We’re sorry.”

Satisfied, Supervisor Zheng retracted his gaze and returned to stand before Wan Ze. He placed his hands flat against the seams of his pants and bowed a full ninety degrees, his posture as reverent as if he were meeting a head of state, a fawning smile plastered on his face.

There’s a saying about not hitting a smiling man. He probably thought this display would quell Wan Ze’s impatience.

Wan Ze stood his ground, watching the scene unfold.

‘I can guess that this Uncle Dou must be one of Zhao Henian’s men.’

‘Zhao Henian holds a high position in the Secret Palace; arranging for an inside man in the black market wouldn’t be difficult for him.’

But Wan Ze was also wondering.

‘Just how many people has Zhao Henian planted in this black market?’

‘Dong Hui is the public contact, Uncle Dou is the hidden one. Are there others?’

‘But now isn’t the time to be thinking about this.’

‘Truthfully, he had no desire to deal with this bullshit. His only purpose for coming here was Stealing Celestial Secret.’

But…

Supervisor Zheng was about to say more, but his vision suddenly went black.

BAM!

His entire body was sent flying out the door like a cannonball.

Wan Ze unhurriedly dusted off his pants. “So noisy.”

Across from him, Boss Qu and Dong Hui stared at each other in shock.

They exchanged a glance, both seeing the utter astonishment in the other’s eyes.

From start to finish, neither of them had seen how Wan Ze had even moved.

The two bodyguards stood frozen in place, the brief glance Wan Ze had swept over them sending a horrifying chill down their spines, making their hair stand on end.

“What are you waiting for? Scram!” Dong Hui shouted, forcing a calm he didn’t feel.

The two bodyguards scrambled away and helped Supervisor Zheng up from the doorway. To their surprise, Supervisor Zheng staggered to his feet and actually managed a smile despite being beaten. “Uncle Dou, Mr. Wang… I will go back and reflect deeply on my mistake. Please, you two take your time.”

Supported by his two bodyguards, he limped away.

Wan Ze paid him no mind at all.

‘If it comes to a fight, so be it.’

‘A Grandmaster? So what…’

‘If the sky falls, Zhao Henian is there to hold it up.’

‘Besides… I have Uncle Dou here right now.’

…

The atmosphere in the shop inexplicably relaxed.

Seeing that Uncle Dou said nothing and simply walked over to a side seat, Boss Qu let out a huge sigh of relief and wiped the sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand.

The back of his shirt was already soaked through with sweat, clinging to his skin.

During that chaotic series of events, he had actually been more nervous than anyone. This was his shop, after all. If anything truly bad had happened, he could kiss his business goodbye.

Dong Hui also breathed a sigh of relief. His shoulders slumped, as if a heavy weight had been lifted from them.

But the way he looked at Wan Ze now had completely changed.

His gaze now held a great deal of admiration and awe.

He had been fighting with Supervisor Zheng for so long, and he had always been the one on the losing end.

Today, he finally got to see that son of a bitch get humiliated—and publicly, at that. Dong Hui felt as if every pore in his body was radiating pure satisfaction.

And that satisfaction was all thanks to Wan Ze.

Dong Hui’s mind was racing.

‘When I first accepted this task from Boss Zhao, I didn’t think it was anything special.’

‘Boss Zhao had said on the phone to “take a friend to see some things,” so I assumed Wan Ze was some younger relative of his, or a junior who needed to be taken care of.’

‘I’ve done this sort of thing many times before. It’s routine, requires no real skill.’

But he didn’t think that way anymore.

‘This even drew out Uncle Dou, who personally said, “Mr. Wang is my honored guest.”‘

Dong Hui knew better than anyone the weight those words carried.
