Chapter 372: Chapter 363: [Enchanting Heart Demon Bone], [Profound Skin Dragon Armor], Young Marshal Feng’an

In a dim, lightless chamber, a figure standing over two meters tall—nearly three—stood in silence.

Suddenly, a dull rumble, like the cracking of the earth, echoed from the depths of the figure’s bone marrow.

The moment the sound rang out, streaks of orange-red light erupted from the figure’s back, spreading wildly outward from its spine.

The glowing patterns resembled scorching magma surging freely across a black landscape, looking as if they would burst from the body at any moment.

As the glowing patterns enveloped his body, a rapid series of sharp cracks echoed, like the violent clash of metal. Irregular pentagonal and hexagonal chitinous plates erupted from his skin, resembling some ancient, intricate suit of armor. Accompanied by short spikes that faded from orange-red to pure black, they soon covered him completely...

BOOM—!

When the transformation was complete, an immense, searing aura spread out, slamming against the surrounding walls and causing them to shudder.

Fu Juemin’s height, which had already been over two meters, shot up again, reaching over three meters, nearly four.

His entire frame swelled, yet he remained slender, not bloated or clumsy in the slightest. He projected a sense of profound stability and unyielding power while retaining his agility.

He was now fully covered in armor. The profound-black plates even extended to his cheeks, growing from his jaw, brow ridges, and temples toward the center of his face to form a menacing half-mask.

But it wasn’t pure black. The orange-red, magma-like cracks from his former Copper Hide remained, distributed evenly across the profound-black armor. The patterns brightened and dimmed with his every breath and movement, constantly emitting faint wisps of orange smoke.

Sharp, short spikes had sprouted from all his major joints, as well as the outside of his elbows and thighs. Along his spine, a prominent row of serrated dorsal plates had grown, extending all the way to his tailbone.

This was his current "Three Souls in One Body," his basic Demon Body state!

It was far stronger than before. Although he had once again largely shed his human appearance, there was the strange beauty of a natural-born weapon of slaughter about him.

’After all, I’ve devoured and fused two additional Talents. Technically, this could be considered ’Five Souls in One Body’...’

Fu Juemin examined his current state with considerable satisfaction. He closed the fingers of his right hand, producing a series of sharp CRACKs that sounded like both grinding bones and clashing armor.

The three core Talents that constituted his basic Demon Body were Soft Bone, Meat Mountain, and Copper Hide.

Among them, Soft Bone had advanced. After the Black-Scaled Snake Demon devoured the Demon Soul of the Human-Faced Demon Python, the Talent evolved from White Level to Blue Level, becoming the brand new Enchanting Heart Demon Bone!

The original abilities of Soft Bone were enhanced, transforming it from Soft Bone into Demon Bone. Even the Human-Faced Demon Python’s Enchanting Heart ability was preserved.

’So now my attacks have a hypnotic, enchanting effect...’

Fu Juemin lifted his right hand and waved it casually. Where his arm and fingertips passed, he could see faint, almost imperceptible transparent ripples lingering in the air.

This was the effect of Enchanting Heart. The larger the movement, the stronger the effect, and the greater the area of influence. It could be considered a decent crowd-control ability for group battles.

Fu Juemin even felt that he could really develop this, perhaps creating a Demon Martial Arts style similar to Fan Wuyan of Black Tower’s "Seventy-Two Paths Illusionary Tower Fist," but one that was perfectly suited for his Demon Body state.

’Seventy-Two Hundred Paths Enchanting Heart Fist? Ten Billion Calamity Heart Blade?... Both sound pretty good.’

He mused idly.

A name had to be sufficiently domineering; that way, shouting it during a fight would be enough to intimidate an opponent from the very start.

Next was Copper Hide. After evolving through consumption, it had become a high Blue Level, nearing Chi—Profound Skin Dragon Armor!

This was what truly surprised Fu Juemin. Not only were the abilities of Copper Hide preserved, but even Iron Armor was further strengthened.

Moreover...

’This Talent seems to contain a trace of an ancient and special bloodline power...’

A light flashed in his demonic eyes as he felt the explosive power contained within his spine, a force like flowing magma.

’Dragon?!’

Perhaps.

A Piggy Dragon could also be considered a Dragon.

Legend says the Dragon had nine sons, and each of those sons had nine more. It wasn’t impossible for an Alien Species of Demon Fiend like the Two-tailed Giant Crocodile to have a trace of Dragon Blood in its veins.

Fu Juemin originally hadn’t believed that a True Dragon Demon Species existed in this world. But ever since he saw that sun-like egg in the Nine Banners Earth Palace, some of his beliefs had quietly begun to change.

’Could that have been... the legendary Golden Crow?!’

’If the Golden Crow really exists, then it wouldn’t be strange for Dragons to have existed in ancient times...’

This world, with its Republic-like background, was even more complex than Fu Juemin had imagined.

As his strength increased step by step, he felt as though he was constantly approaching some truth, peeling back, layer by layer, the ancient veils that covered the true nature of the world...

’My basic Demon Body has been greatly enhanced, and its foundational framework is more stable. Next is to fuse Hundred-legged Fire Walk, Celestial Star, Shadow Control, Lifting Power, and so on...’

’The resulting form might not perfectly match the Demon Magic Dharma Form. Of course, at this stage, it’s impossible to achieve a perfect match with the Dharma Form anyway...’

The very purpose of the Demon Magic Dharma Form was to guide the evolutionary path of Fu Juemin’s Demon Body. It was like pruning a rapidly growing sapling—trimming away the useless side branches that would steal nutrients and grow sideways, allowing the main trunk to thicken and grow upward, eventually becoming a towering tree.

With the Demon Magic Dharma Form established, Fu Juemin now truly had what it took to aim for the Flood Dragon Level!

To be honest, Fu Juemin was now faintly anticipating it. After the Dharma Form was established, what would his Demon Body look like when he activated the Five Souls, Six Souls, or even Seven Souls in One Body states?

And just how many Demon Souls would he have to fuse before he could truly be considered to have stepped into the Flood Dragon Level?

Just as he was about to begin experimenting with the fusions, a soft TAP sounded.

Something seemed to have landed on one of the latticed windowsills on the west side of the chamber.

Fu Juemin’s expression shifted slightly. He reverted from his Demon Body state to his normal form and walked toward the source of the sound.

The ethereal, tranquil light shrouding the chamber dissipated. A pigeon, pitch-black with eyes like red jade, flew in, flapping its wings, and landed gently on Fu Juemin’s hand.

With a calm expression, Fu Juemin took the rolled-up piece of paper tied to the pigeon’s leg and opened it...

A moment later, he released the black pigeon, a glint in his eyes.

"Feng’an Army... Young Marshal..."

...

Night fell. A sickle moon hung high in the sky. Shrouded by hazy clouds, the moon seemed to have a faint, fuzzy edge.

After the curfew in Yingjing City, the main streets were pitch-black and deserted, with only the occasional yowl of a cat or dog breaking the silence.

Suddenly, the darkness and silence were shattered by the sound of rhythmic, hurried footsteps.

A large contingent of well-equipped soldiers in blue uniforms appeared on the long street, running in unison and carrying torches.

Their military boots stamped against the flagstones with menacing momentum, like a flaming saber stabbing viciously into the heart of the ancient city.

In the center of the formation, two figures on horseback were chatting casually.

"That pigtail from the old dynasty wouldn’t come to our banquet in Xinjing, and he has the gall to make the Young Marshal come to Yingjing to see him. Fucking hell, we’re giving him too much face..."

The officer, who looked like a Deputy Officer, cursed nonstop from horseback, with nearly every other word being a creative insult aimed at the reproductive organs of Helu’s ancestors.

The man addressed as Young Marshal by the Deputy Officer, however, seemed to be in a much better mood. He laughed and said, "Face? Who cares about face? Right now, we’re the ones begging him. As long as he’s willing to give us what we want, what’s the big deal if I have to shine his shoes?"

The man had a nonchalant expression. "Once we get past this current hurdle, we’ll find a chance to blow all these pigtails to kingdom come with a cannon. Who’s going to remember this little thing then..?"
