Master Of None
Chapter 3058. Concepts
Chapter 3058: 3058. Concepts
Using his mana sense, Walker released more of the light elemental alone he had gathered. More of the mana that had been condensed and clam without proper form or anything living to truly be said to be there.
Yet, he had not realized that this mana was like fuel.
It was like sparks of life waiting to take form.
And form it did.
The world grabbed on to that mana and hundreds of small light elemental spirits spontaneously existed. There wasn’t a warning or a moment of pause, it just happened right away, appearing like it had been some planned surprise event.
Each took on more mana as they came to be, following the flow of different colored lights that would naturally serve their own purposes in the area.
While normally, light needed other reasons to change form, this light was showing its full spectrum of potential, not additional manipulation. That alone was something to be said to be miraculous and amazing.
But the mountain range itself seemed to be accepting this light as well.
As it was bathed in the dense light mana and became closer to it, Walker could feel a change in the nature of the mountains that had been so barren for so long.
Dormant seeds that had a slight or greater light affinity were beginning to stretch out roots. It was like they had finally received permission to grow.
Even some smaller monsters that would be called prey by just about any other monster squeezed themselves out of cracks that even Walker struggled to search for when he had first stretched his mana sense over the area.
They all felt the changes and the potential. So they all began to show themselves. That was the way of nature, during a prosperous spring, more wildlife and parts of nature would appear.
Rise and those with her were also reveling in this. But it was for a different reason.
The changes in the mana were unique.
They had never felt the addition of light mana cause such a peaceful and calm brilliance. The mana itself was variant and strong. Much denser than the light mana that they were used to.
It was also much purer in the way that it was not yet mixed in with other manas causing it to have a greater effect on their bodies and minds.
They did not need to protect others from it or defend against it themselves. They were able to absorb it as it washed over them and everything around them.
Rise herself felt that her body could easily use this mana, as it had always been there ready for her. But even more, she felt that it was feeding the very heart of her body.
Her dragon heart was greedily absorbing this mana and strengthening her blood. Her bones. Her scales.
She wasn’t just a light dominator dragon. She wasn’t just the royal light dragon for her race. She had much more work to do so that she could grow to become something that the dragon race would look up to and compare to the light of the sun.
Her goals had always been to grow and remain pure as light should be. But now, she has learned that she could be more if she accepted the other races. Grow to stand for more as an example and as a guide toward the truth of what they might seek out for themselves. That thought, those feelings, and the effort she put in to it allowed her to pursue her own strength as a leader.
This mana though? It gave her the fuel to change herself and push the beginning of a new form of growth to condense and strengthen herself.
Walker sensed this as well but realized that it was not an instant process.
Her larger dragon form moving quietly through the various forms of light mana settling in here was not an instantaneous and simple process. It was slow and calm, finding the frequency of light and exploring more about it.
While some would focus on the strength and density of light mana, Rise was focusing on the calm purity. The aspects of truth seen within light mana that revealed what was unseen prior. She did not focus on the speed that light moved or some idea that light was able to pierce through other manas because of its potency.
She believed that light was honesty and truth now. The arrogance and pride in her idealism that Walker had seen when he first met her and how he had needed to literally fight on her own grounds to change that perception was gone entirely.
Washed away through clarity of feeling here.
He knew that there was more to everything than the manas as a foundation. Existence had hinted and proven this.
The god classes released to the moon or the sun could be proof. One related to storms as well. Yet, that was still vague and people might misunderstand those as just rarer or unique classes that stood for the manas and effects they had on the world.
Walker was understanding that those were different.
Connected to the unspoken values that came about along with the foundational manas of the world and existence.
The concepts of what something was should hold power and he believed that some people understood this even if they did not voice that out loud. Rise should have and was beginning to grasp at that right now as she developed herself using this purer light mana.
Knowing this was something a bit bigger than just growing or taking a step forward, Walker made certain that for the coming days as Rise underwent this process, he would be there.
The other elder dragons and attendants also felt this was important. They moved to take up defensive stances, standing guard properly. They didn’t care if they would get hungry or want to rest, they felt the weight of this moment for Rise.
"Are you ok?" Gil checked in with Walker noticing that he had paused.
"I am fine, Rise might have figured out a way for a lot of people to grow stronger but I don’t know if it can be taught." Gil seemed to consider this before Walker spoke up again explaining his theories and ideas.
As Gil listened he showed some interest but also appeared to have his own theories. Not that he described them. He had been deeply invested in growing the condensed archery style he was making.
Yet, the idea of condensing a meaning within something too, a concept, also resonated with him.
Wasn’t that also what he was accomplishing by building the archery style around the methods that the ancient elves survived?
He focused on that because of the deeply rooted connection the elves had in their blood to those styles. By using that and enhancing the styles already made, he could make them more fluid. Give them a greater and grander meaning while straightening out the stray thoughts and paths of other styles with less connection.
If he tried to instil more of the intention to survive and utilize the emotions of their ancestors, maybe the style could be better defined. It might at least make it easier for the other elves to learn whether or not they were enhancing their bodies and bloodline to become full high elves or not.
"I might need to try out focusing on concepts too. I’ve already made some big connections with a few retired archer captains. They showed me flaws I didn’t know I was making up in to the style. So many of them have been wisdom I can’t start to have because of my age."
This wasn’t just Gil feeling like this. Everyone did at some point. Small tips and tricks grew in someone over years and years of repetition. They had learned things they could share but others would often need time to truly internalize.
"You should see our new magic tower master. He’s learning some basic elemental magic over again and it’s the very same thing. He’s learning really fast though. He managed to create a magic skill called ember storm before he could have been taught it by a fire mage instructor."
Both of them trailed off in to the small tips and tricks they had gathered. It helped them both accept that despite their strength, they were still young.
Even with the years of work now, they were still learning the little things. Something that many people began to forget were important when advancing skills.
Crafters remember these things best since the smallest details could radically change their work. Then again, they also taught that from the start when introducing apprentices of any crafting trade.
"I think I could use a little testing today, want to make some moving targets for me?" Gil challenged Walker a bit. Some training with his new archery style and Walker’s ability to control some smaller puppets that would help him with the golem bodies.
"If you can keep up."
