Chapter 3062: 3062. Learning Again

"I don’t think we need to carry you back." Gil received a glare from Remey as he and Walker literally carried her away from training.

Then again, he was just getting a little revenge teasing her now since she was not able to easily wind up a punch to hit him.

Their training had gone on for a few more hours and they had all found some decent solutions to what they were working on. But Remey had thoroughly exhausted herself to the point that she had no strength to even stand up and walk normally before her legs shook and she collapsed.

That was just the cost of trying over and over to use all of her will and the mana she could muster to train the skill better. To understand the exact way that she could alter the flame dragon form she could take. To find ways to advance it now that she could sense and understand the steps needed to actually use the skill actively and not instinctively.

Gil was not the same in his weakness after training, he was instead focused on the fact that he was missing a few pieces of the puzzle.

He found that the shift from the earth style and the water style was choppy. That the flow of his muscles could lead to harm in his left shoulder. That the stance he took while dodging an attack would cause his feet to slip and break the mana flow of a wind bow.

These little things were small to someone who did not know the refinement of a battle style or any style that came with ensuring no injury would come from using the style as a whole.

Gil had realized that the style, in an ancient form, was unprocessed. He had grasped the roots and the whys as to how the style came to be.

The necessity for survival was always going to remain true and always going to be something that could be focused on to push the emotional connection and power of the style higher. It was a driving force that resonated with the origin of the style and the elves’ survival as a whole.

However, that did not mean that it was a style that did not injure the one using it.

The style was rough and needed to be better refined so that it could be used longer and more safely. It needed the knowledge of modern day and the constant adjustments to find the small tiny errors that could cause damage to the user later on in life after years and years of using it.

He also generally just needed to grasp the paths it might take as other elves used it. How the style might evolve generation to generation.

He didn’t need to see the future, but he had to leave it open for the potential that was already there.

Walker found he understood why he could sense things through the golem bodies better. He also found connections to the mana flow he created in a puppet and the mana flow between himself and the golem bodies.

The puppets took his mana through mana threads. A denser and as much as he hated to admit, easier to sever the act of control.

The golems had a more spiritual and soul based connection and bond. The same as he had with Onyx and Midnight or with the eternal codex.

He didn’t need to actively control those bonds since they were deeply part of who he and the other party was. The same with the golem bodies but instead it was an extension of himself as a whole.

Therefore, seeing that but relating it to mana threads, Walker grasped the fact he could more easily controlled and flowed mana through those connections. It changed how he perceived what he did with any magic or sharing of senses and knowledge.

Let alone the sharing of spatial storages that he used.

He could use this feeling to increase his connection when moving items from the multi dimensional storage. Or even better, use it to understand the closeness of teleportation between or using the golem bodies.

Just grasping that flow of bond and mana between them clarified his full understanding. Let alone what else might influence his viewpoints and understandings as he looked at the other smaller skills that came together to be used in the bond between himself and his golem bodies.

The three continued toward the mansion to rest while the examples of combat in the Demi-human territory only grew in fame.

"Seems that everything is going well with your plan?" Walker’s golem body had stuck with King Rorick waiting to see what would happen with the reports from generals about the changes to combat training and programs for training.

"I found few inconsistencies. It seems they have realized that they might lose their chance to lead if they don’t adapt. A few even asked their generals to pursue training for themselves." Rorick had been casually polishing one of his swords while speaking but his expression really gave away the surprise in his heart about this.

"Many of the older captains forget the fire they have for battle. It dulls as they focus on strategy over their might. This gave them the drive to burn that flame hotter than ever." The vicious grin on King Rorick’s face told Walker that he wanted exactly this reaction more than anything. Then again, who wouldn’t want that?

There’s a lot that can come from the leadership in his country pursuing greater skill and strength in themselves and their squads.

It would show in battle no matter what, but also become very evident as they expanded what else could be seen in the kingdom as well.

If craftsmen were getting orders from guards for better weapons and armor, but they couldn’t provide it for them, they would find ways to learn how or to procure them.

If healers and medical experts couldn’t help fix the injuries of coliseum fighters or the people themselves to a high standard, they would want to know how. Want to know what to do to better themselves enough to accomplish it.

"Alice seemed happy with her healers’ in training progress. A few of them showed their fear of battle and that will be taught to be overcome. I also saw a few begin leading, some were adventurer healers who joined the cathedral to learn more too."

This got a nod of approval from Rorick. He was glad to see healers using various techniques that were not all magical in nature. He saw a few of the injured soldiers reach out and accept medicines and potions.

That alone was a larger step forward.

"Walker, let Genesis know that I plan to send a larger group to the academy as it opens. I have decided that sending a hundred may be too few. Sending three hundred to test for admittance to elite classes would be ideal. Those who can not prove themselves can take general classes and return if they wish to do so."

This was news.

Last he’d expected from King Rorick was that the battle king would wish to send more young minds to Genesis at this point. Yet, he knew the value of doing so and wished to pursue it even more strongly than before.

"We can make the arrangements. We notified each kingdom and race within the alliance that general studies will start every year. The openings will be for larger classes of lectures and advanced or elite classes will be based on merit."

Walker was directly recalling the standards made by the Genesis Council and those assigned to deal with all things related to the academy. It was easier to have everything written and explained in the exact same way to avoid any issues.

"You’re traveling teachers." King Rorick took on a calm but strong willed tone. Enough that prompted Walker to create a mental note of what was being said clearly.

"They have made a greater difference than you expect. We have many who understand numbers better. We tried to help out people and struggled. It is showing as my scouts check the marketplaces. They are making better informed decisions and building their households taller. They are not simply relying on one colosseum champion any longer."

The touch of sadness at the end truly showed passion for the battles that caused crowds to roar. Yet, it showed acceptance in the joy that came with knowing a people was growing in more ways than one. In ways that could last generations beyond the borders of that kingdom.

"Then I will send more of them. Teaching is something many have taken as their life goal. They live for it and I want that to grow as well." With another promise made, Walker left, he believed he’d seen what he needed to and could help send what was needed as well.

He also wanted to check in more with Alice to tell her about his travels to the outer elemental planes.
