Max-Level Comprehension: I Create Magic in the Apocalypse
Chapter 28: Reinhardt
Sending Victoria off, Ethan didn’t have too much reluctance to let her wander off by herself.
After all, now that he had told her about the apocalypse, he was sure a part of her would begin to worry about how to deal with it and survive.
Things like food, security, and after thinking for a while, she would ultimately come to one conclusion.
’When the time comes, Victoria will realise, that whether she likes it or not, only with power like the Smith family backing her, can she truly protect her family.’
Thinking about the grim future to come, Ethan smiled as he thought of the fact that at least one S-class had been secured under his command.
’Unfortunately, I don’t think any of the other S-classes are nearby, so I’ll have to forget about them for now.’
Shaking his head, he pulled out his phone and began making a call.
"Hello, Alfred, can you do me another favor?"
"Can you tell me where the headquarters of the Clown Gang is and where most of their forces are located?"
"Also arrange for some people to stealthily loot all their weapons and supplies."
"After this night, there will be no more Clown Gang in Emerald City."
Narrowing his eyes, Ethan stared into the distant horizon. The faint smell hung in the air, reaching his nose.
No matter what happened, for his plans, tonight, Emerald City was to be bathed in blood.
......
[Blue Star, Emerald City Downtown]
Driving in his sports car, Ethan still wore his disguise of a scarf and a pair of sunglasses to prevent others from identifying him.
Now he had left the restaurant; the next thing on his list was to destroy the Clown Gang, to do that he needed the help of his family.
Unfortunately, Christian seemed to be busy so he could only be put on hold while he waited for his grandfather to join the group call.
"Don’t worry young master, I’ve already told the patriarch; he’ll join the call any moment now."
"Also about the school you called for earlier, all the students have been expelled and the teachers and security have been fired."
"Also the so-called Smith who was claimed to have a connection with the bullies’ family."
"After investigation, it turned out to be your father’s brother, your Uncle Leroy."
"Right now the patriarch has ordered him to come back and receive punishment," said Alfred in a calm voice as if everything he said was just a mere thought.
However, Ethan hearing this couldn’t help but raise his eyebrows slightly as he wondered how Victoria would have reacted if she heard this news.
Would she cry with joy? Would she be surprised? What kind of facial expressions would she make?
Thinking of her ice-blue hair and eyes, Ethan had to admit she was indeed beautiful.
So much so that even when she was being beaten up, he involuntarily paused a few times as his eyes lay on her.
"Alright thanks Alfred, but Uncle Leroy, I haven’t heard that name in a while."
"Wasn’t he that moron who told me to hand over the shares of my company to him so that he’d help me manage it till I’m older?"
"I hope Grandpa deals with him a lot."
Sneering slightly, Leroy was one of the many parasites of the Smith family.
Flaunting their status with no achievements to their names, always trying to influence him or Elena to join their factions in hopes of taking over the family.
A set of people who only know how to take.
’Tch... once the apocalypse starts, first thing I’ll do is wipe out all those idiots.’
’There must be no second voice in the Smith family, no matter who,’ he thought.
However, before Ethan and Alfred could talk more, along with a ding sound, a boisterous laugh rang out of his phone.
"Haha! Parasites! That’s the word to call them."
"To be honest, this old man had long known most of them were filled with jealousy and greed."
"Do you know how many times on my birthdays I feel killing intent? Not from the guests or intruders but from our own family members."
"Most wish I was dead; they could inherit everything."
"Some see me as a mountain over their head and their pride makes them wish for it to fall."
"Unfortunately for them even at seventy this old man is kicking strong! Hahaha!"
Laughing through the phone, Christian’s voice echoed.
To anyone else, perhaps this laugh would have seemed like any nonchalant old man.
However, Ethan who was at least twenty times more sensitive than the average human could hear the sorrow hidden between each laugh.
Especially when he talked about his own family wishing he was dead, obviously it got to him more than he let on.
Seeing this, Ethan decided to change the topic.
"Alright Grandpa, enough about that, did you get my message on the Clown Gang?"
"Plan to clear them up tonight so I need some of our people to be ready to raid their bases and hijack all their ammunition and supplies."
"I also need locations on their main gathering place or headquarters," said Ethan.
However, only a few seconds later, a voice of rejection came from the other end of the phone.
"Sorry kid but Alfred already told me, and I have to say no."
"The Smith family can’t help you here, because if we do, those bastards from the Reinhardt family will make a mess and it would be a disaster," said Christian.
"..."
Silence....
Listening to Christian’s words, Ethan couldn’t refute it; after all the world hadn’t ended yet and there was still a good amount of time.
The Reinhardt family, was a family that rivaled, if not surpassed the Smith family.
Not only that, but the Clown Gang was left there as a tool to destroy or hinder the growth of the Smith family.
Because of that, Ethan knew if it was detected that the Smith family had anything to do with the Clown Gang’s end, a river of blood would probably flow throughout Emerald City the next day.
As both families would go to war with each other without care and everyone would be crushed in the process.
"However don’t worry kid, while the Smith family can’t help you."
"As an individual, I Christian Smith can."
"Hahaha!"
Laughing once more, Christian’s voice sounded again attracting the attention of a stunned Ethan.
