"Although those Reinhardt bastards are trouble, this old man still has a few tricks up his sleeve."

Smiling on the other end of the phone, ever since Christian heard Alfred tell him Ethan wanted to deal with the Clown Gang, he had been filled with joy.

As someone who had practically lived through most of the rivalry between the two families, he had also borne most of the brunt.

Especially ever since his son and daughter-in-law died, the Smith family as a whole was weaker, giving the Reinhardt family more leeway to act.

So now, even if defeating the Clown Gang wouldn’t really harm them much.

He was more than happy to piss them off.

"As you know, this Grandpa of yours has a lot of mercenary and army buddies."

"Back then during the war of ’47, I took a bullet for the current head of the Spade Mercenary Group."

"We both served in the same squad," he paused.

"I’ll call him and ask him for a favour. He should be able to dispatch a decent amount of men to help you."

"As for the location of those clown bastards, don’t worry, they’re always on the watch with Smith intelligence."

"I’ll forward you everything, from minor to major bases, even secret bases." Saying it in a matter-of-fact tone, Ethan heard Christian speak with unbridled pride.

"You see, in Emerald City, nothing can escape the Smith family’s eyes, kid."

"Had it not been for their backers, we would have wiped them all out a long time ago."

Hearing these words, Ethan couldn’t help but be glad that he was born in the right family.

"Hahaha, when in doubt! Be a Smith!" said Ethan.

"Indeed, hahaha!" laughed Christian.

One by one, Grandson and Grandpa laughed on the phone, leaving Alfred stunned as they talked about other things.

The night would soon come, and then, the underworld of Emerald City would experience a name change.

......

Time passed, nightfall came, and what happened next went smoothly.

With Christian making a few calls, Ethan was soon met with thirty masked men and women.

Standing under the cover of the night, the thirty of them all reeked of murderous intent and killing intent.

Obviously, the number of lives they had taken was not small.

It was so much so that if anyone else had been the one in their presence, perhaps their legs would have collapsed in fright.

However, not only did that not happen with Ethan, but he gave them a nod of appreciation as he sensed this.

After all, given the amount of blood they were going to spill this night, it was best if they could handle it.

Clap!

"Thank you all for coming here today. I’m sure my Grandpa already told you this, but tonight I’m going to eliminate the Clown Gang."

"But worry not, I’m sure most of you think this is a suicide operation; after all, their numbers as a whole are in the hundreds if not thousands."

"And we are barely over thirty."

"Thinking of these odds, I’m sure most of you feel I’m insane."

Facing them, Ethan smiled.

Yes, Christian hadn’t said anything about the apocalypse on purpose.

For that kind of thing, the fewer people who knew, the better.

Because of that, when he asked for reinforcements for Ethan, the master of the Spade Guild thought his grandson wanted to commit suicide.

In order to help him, he sent thirty of his most extremely loyal mercenaries.

People who would not bat an eye at any of his orders.

And Ethan, who was facing these people, could guess that too.

’However, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.’

’I’ll just order them to remain quiet, or keep them in the Smith family after this under the pretense that the job isn’t finished.’

’That way we can get more hands for free.’

’Also even if Grandpa saved that guy, I personally don’t know him, so there’s no need to go out of my way to save him.’

’If he survives after the initial apocalypse, then perhaps I can do him a favour and lend him a hand then.’

’Until then, I wish you the best wherever you are,’ Ethan muttered in his mind.

Facing this group of dead men, he planned to use this raid to win them over.

Not only that, but he would learn their skills with his max-level comprehension.

In fact, had he not been in so much of a rush, he would have learnt from his sister.

However, for now, these would have to do. As seasoned mercenaries who had spent decades fighting and training, Ethan felt like he could learn a lot.

"You all, let me tell you this, this is not a suicide operation."

"I don’t know why some of you became mercenaries."

"Perhaps it was to feed your family, or maybe to earn a living."

"Some of you might have had no choice and were born into it," he paused.

"However, today, you will no longer be regular mercenaries."

"Tonight, not only will none of you die without my permission, but you are about to witness something that transcends the mundane."

"Tonight, I need your loyalty, I need your strength, and I need your attention!"

"Tonight! You all are about to witness the birth of a new era!"

Spreading his arms wide, Ethan’s body was highlighted by the faint lights coming from a nearby abandoned factory.

This was the first place they were going to raid today and the location of most of the Clown Gang managers.

According to the information his grandfather sent, they were conducting a major drug trade tonight.

And the mercenaries, seeing Ethan like this, talking about a new era and other things...

Although they could not understand what he meant, they all knelt, the mercenary in the front taking the lead.

"Young master, no matter what happens tonight, it does not matter. We were ordered to obey all commands, no matter what."

Speaking in a tone completely devoid of emotion, the mercenary stared at him through the mask, no fluctuation in her eyes.
