Chapter 1401: Disk

At Anthony’s words, Ancient Elder Li Xing and Hidden Elder Cane Haine smiled as they nodded gently. Although they were extremely older than Anthony, given they were over a million years old each, power was all that mattered, and at this moment, this young man had it.

It didn’t matter how he achieved it, it didn’t matter if he massacred a billion people for it or fell into some cave and came out omnipotent.

Power was power. Only the weak cried about the method.

The Sect Master, seeing that Anthony and the two Elders had come to an understanding, simply smiled and nodded to himself. He rose to his feet, walking down the small flight of stairs as he spoke.

"I don’t want to waste both Elders’ time, so I will show you both where to draw the Rune Formation."

He gestured forward, motioning for everyone to follow him. Everyone simply nodded, then began to walk. The Core Elders were already familiar with the location, but Anthony and the Elders didn’t know it, as they had just arrived.

"Ancient Elder Li Xing, Hidden Elder Cane Haine, the Null Sect plans to have the treasure vault in an underground space. We would first create an array formation that guides people out of this place whenever they approach it, be it by mistake or on purpose. Of course, the Core Elders and I are exempt."

Null Nathaniel began to explain everything. He led them through a mountain where the hidden treasure vault was supposed to be. Then, deep underground within the mountain, a spatial-expanding rune would be drawn, and a stabilising formation would be carved.

Anthony said nothing; he simply watched and followed behind the Sect Master and two old Elders with his hands in his pockets. After a while, everything was done.

Without wasting too much time, the two old Elders signed a Law Contract with the Sect Master. It was paramount, after all, as there was no guarantee that these two wouldn’t leave here and act on the information they had.

Normally, forces would add clauses like "creating the formation and runes to the best of your knowledge" to avoid being scammed and stuff like that. But the Sect Master didn’t bother, making it seem as though he was doing it out of respect for them, as though he knew they wouldn’t stoop that low.

But the Sword Ruler didn’t trust them for shit; he only didn’t add that clause because Anthony was here. The two Elders immediately saw through this and had their guesses. They weren’t naive or dumb after being alive for so long.

"It should take about five to six hours to complete, Sect Master Sword Ruler."

Hidden Elder Cane Haine stated with a smile on his face.

Null Nathaniel didn’t think too much about it. He knew nothing about runes and formations, so he just nodded his head, turned around, and walked away with the five Core Elders, leaving Anthony and the two old Elders.

"Shall we begin?"

Hidden Elder Cane Haine asked as he vanished from where he stood. Anthony and Ancient Elder Li Xing vanished too, their figures appearing at the top of the mountain. They were going to start here and work their way inwards.

The reason the work was going to take as long as six hours was simply because the Null Sect had demanded a Ten-Star Formation and Rune. In the past, they would have coughed up blood to even think about paying for it, but now, they were simply too rich.

Ancient Elder Li Xing snapped his fingers, and an item that seemed like a painting brush appeared in his right hand. His Law of Will came alive as his Origin Essence surged into his brush, and he readied himself to begin.

Hidden Elder Cane Haine wasn’t far behind. He snapped his fingers too, and a huge metallic disk plate appeared in the sky, hovering just above the mountain peak. Its polished surface shimmered faintly beneath the light.

Hidden Elder Cane Haine pointed towards his huge metallic disk, his Origin Essence surging towards the disk. The moment his Origin Essence connected, he simply willed it, and a Ten-Star Formation was immediately born, appearing right underneath the metallic disk.

It was small, then expanded with every passing moment until it became the size of a mountain. The Formation immediately collapsed downwards as though it was going to crash into and crush the mountain. But neither Anthony nor Sky Sealer moved, as they simply watched the Translator of Wills work his magic.

The Formation merged perfectly with the mountain, its golden brilliance flaring before it vanished. The moment the golden Formation vanished, Anthony felt a mental pull on his consciousness; even his Will felt it. Although it wasn’t strong enough to make him act against his own Will, he still felt the presence of something.

"You old cheater. You just finished your work using an artefact, and I have to manually draw mine."

Ancient Elder Li Xing complained out loud as he sighed. He had expected his fellow old man to take a couple of hours to draw the Formation, since it was a Ten-Star Formation, but the man had already drawn it and saved it into the metallic disk. All he had to do was will it, and any Formation stored there would be deployed.

"What have you been doing? You should find an artefact like mine and seal drawn Runes within it. After all, that’s all I spent most of my time doing, if not researching archaic Formations."

Hidden Elder Cane Haine replied as his metallic disk remained in the air.

Anthony stayed silent as he looked at the Formation, then said nothing. He had to give it to the old man; his work was perfectly flawless. No openings, no weak points that could be exploited, nothing.

"Magnificent work as always, Cane Haine."

The Sky Sealer spoke as he raised his brush, which shone golden as his wrist began to dance through the air. As his brush stroked against the air and space, Runes of various shapes and directions began to appear, their intricate patterns glimmering faintly as they materialised. Then, they danced out into the air, flying in every direction.

After twenty minutes of drawing, Ancient Elder Li Xing paused, his eyes snapping to the side. He flashed in that direction, then brought down his brush. Some Runes immediately obeyed as they merged smoothly with the Formation, not the mountain itself.
