Liam found her near the east tree line just after midday.

Vanessa was checking the outer motion sensors, tablet in one hand, the other resting against the low stone wall.

She didn’t notice him at first. Her posture was straight, professional, but there was a tightness in her shoulders that hadn’t been there before Jessica’s claim settled over the house.

He stopped a few paces away.

"Vanessa." She turned. The moment she saw him, something flickered across her face — quick, poorly hidden. Her fingers tightened on the tablet.

"Liam."

"Status?"

"East sector is clean. No false triggers since last night." She kept her voice even, but her eyes didn’t fully meet his. "I already logged it."

"I saw." Silence stretched between them. A breeze moved through the trees and pushed a strand of hair across her cheek. She brushed it away too quickly.

Liam stepped closer.

Vanessa didn’t retreat, but her weight shifted slightly, as if her body hadn’t decided whether to hold ground or give it. Up close, he could see the faint tension in her jaw.

She had been carrying the memory of that open doorway for days Renee wrecked beneath him, the thick scent of sex in the room, the way she and Cole had frozen in the frame.

Now Jessica had been added to the list. The house was changing around her, and she was still standing in the middle of it without a clear place to stand.

"You’ve been quiet," Liam said.

"I’ve been working."

"That’s not what I meant."

Vanessa’s throat moved. She looked down at the tablet, then forced herself to look back up. "If this is about the other night"

"It is."

The words landed cleanly. Vanessa’s fingers stopped moving on the screen.

For a second she looked like she might try to redirect the conversation into something safer. Then she exhaled and let the professional mask thin.

"I shouldn’t have opened the door," she said.

"But you did."

"Yes."

Liam studied her. Vanessa was softer than Cole, less guarded than Jessica had been at the beginning.

Attractive in a quieter way full mouth, warm brown skin, the kind of body that filled out her fitted uniform without needing to announce itself.

She had been careful around him ever since that night. Careful, and aware. He stepped into her space.

Vanessa’s back met the low stone wall. She could have moved sideways. She didn’t.

Liam rested one hand on the wall beside her shoulder, close enough that she had to tilt her head slightly to hold his gaze. Her breathing had already changed.

"You’ve been thinking about it," he said.It wasn’t a question.

Vanessa’s eyes flicked away, then back. A faint flush rose along her neck. "It was hard not to."

"And now Jessica."

Her jaw tightened almost imperceptibly. "The house talks. Even when it doesn’t mean to."

Liam lifted his free hand and brushed his knuckles along the side of her neck, slow and deliberate.

Vanessa’s breath caught. Her skin was warm. She didn’t pull away, but a small shiver ran through her shoulders.

"You’re nervous," he said.

"I’m realistic."

"About what?"

"About what happens to women who get too close to you in this house."

The honesty sat between them, raw and unpolished. Liam’s thumb traced the line of her jaw.

Vanessa’s lips parted slightly. Up close, he could see the conflict working behind her eyes the professional caution fighting something hotter and less controlled.

"And yet you’re still standing here," he said.

Vanessa’s fingers had curled against the stone wall behind her. "I know."

He leaned in, stopping just short of her mouth. Close enough that she would feel the shape of the words.

"Tell me to stop."

Vanessa’s eyes were dark now. Her breathing had gone shallow. For a second it looked like she might actually say it.

Then her gaze dropped to his mouth, and the last of her resistance thinned into something else."I can’t," she whispered.

Liam kissed her.

Vanessa made a soft, startled sound against his mouth, then melted into it almost immediately. Her hands came up to his chest, not pushing him away holding on.

He pressed her back against the wall, one hand sliding into her hair, the other settling at her waist. She was warm through the fabric of her uniform.

When his tongue brushed hers, she opened for him with a quiet, hungry noise that seemed to surprise even her.

The kiss deepened.

Liam’s hand slipped under the hem of her top and found bare skin. Vanessa arched slightly into the contact.

He dragged his palm up her side, slow and possessive, until his thumb brushed the underside of her breast.

She wasn’t wearing a heavy bra. The soft weight of her filled his hand easily. When he squeezed, Vanessa moaned into his mouth and her hips shifted forward against him.

He broke the kiss just enough to speak against her lips."You’ve been wet thinking about that night, haven’t you?"

Vanessa’s face flushed darker. She didn’t deny it. Her fingers had curled into his shirt.

When he brushed his thumb across her nipple through the thin fabric, her whole body jerked slightly and a broken little sound escaped her.

"Liam—"

He kissed her again, harder, and pinched the stiffened peak between his fingers. Vanessa’s knees weakened.

She clutched at him harder, breathing unevenly, the careful professional shell cracking open under his hands.

He could feel the heat coming off her. The way her body was already responding open, reactive, ready.

He wanted to push further.

Instead, he slowly withdrew his hand and stepped back half a pace.

Vanessa stared up at him, lips swollen, chest rising and falling, eyes glassy with want. The wall was the only thing still holding her steady.

She looked wrecked from only a kiss and a few touches, and the knowledge of it sat heavy between them.

"That’s enough for today," Liam said. Vanessa’s throat worked. "You’re stopping."

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Because when I take you," he said, voice low, "I’m not going to do it against a wall in the middle of your rotation. And you’re not ready for what that will look like yet."

Vanessa held his gaze, flushed and frustrated and clearly aching. Then she nodded once, small and unsteady, as if she didn’t trust her voice.

Liam stepped fully back."Finish your checks."

She swallowed, adjusted her top with hands that weren’t entirely steady, and managed a tight nod. "Yes."

He left her there against the wall, still breathing too fast, and walked back toward the house.

In the study, Liam closed the door and stood at the window for a long moment.

Vanessa would break cleanly when the time came. Softer than Jessica. More reactive than Renee. The kind of woman who would fall apart beautifully once she stopped fighting the pull.

He opened the System interface with a thought.Three claimed.

Renee.

Jessica.

Almost Veronica

Vanessa was close. Cole remained a harder target. Veronica was still untouched. Sandra sat on the edge of the board as a future possibility.

Multi Claim sat ready.

He had only used the dual function so far. The full Multi Claim option remained untested the ability to lock multiple women in a single sustained session, binding them together under one claim window.

The rewards would be significant. The logistics were more complicated. Timing mattered. The women needed to be ready enough that resistance wouldn’t fracture the process.

Soon.Not today.

But soon.

Liam closed the interface and looked out over the grounds. Vanessa was still visible near the tree line, one hand resting against the wall where he had pinned her, as if she hadn’t fully trusted her legs yet.

The house was shifting. The board was expanding. And the next phase was already taking shape.
