Chapter 141 Welcome To The Stone Age!

Chugging down potions of invisibility, Vane and Big E had been standing off to the side, watching the GUTS squad’s entire dramatic scene unfold.

“Are we really just going to play spectator here?” Big E glanced at the towering statues, then back at Vane.

“What else do you suggest?” Vane threw his hands up. “You want the two of us to go box those kaiju?”

“My powers are being heavily suppressed in this universe. I honestly don’t think I could take them.” Big E thought about the sheer size of the monsters, then remembered how opening a simple portal just moments ago had nearly caused him to pass out from exhaustion. His confidence instantly evaporated. “Why the hell are my powers being nerfed here anyway?”

Vane scratched his head. “Look, altering the destiny of a universe is a lot like the games you play with those Dark Eldar. You gotta start out gentle, let the universe get into the mood. Once she’s fully invested, then you can go absolutely wild. Come on too strong right out the gate, and you’re getting kicked out of bed. You’re nerfed right now because this universe is still adjusting. It’s trying to figure out if it actually wants you inside it or not. If you try to force your way past the restrictions, it’s going to instantly boot you out.”

Dark lines formed on Big E’s forehead.

“I have absolutely nothing to do with the Dark Eldar. That is slander! Pure, unadulterated slander!”

“Oh?” Vane raised an eyebrow. “Is it really?”

“Yes, it is slander. I am a man of impeccable moral standing,” Big E declared righteously.

Vane couldn’t hold it back anymore and burst out laughing, instantly filling the air with a hilariously joyful vibe.

This old golden geezer has less credibility than a shady used car salesman, and he actually has the nerve to claim he’s morally pure!

Vane casually tapped all three stone statues, unlocking their respective crafting recipes.

Bagging the Ultraman statues was only half the battle. They were completely useless unless you had the right kind of “Light” to power them up and bring them back to life. He was going to have to wait for Daigo to awaken as Tiga so he could unlock the crafting recipe for the Sparklence transformation device. Only then would he actually be able to morph into an Ultraman.

Even with the GUTS squad throwing everything they had at the kaiju, they completely failed to stop the monsters from closing in on the pyramid.

Roar!

Golza unleashed a searing beam of pure energy dead at the pyramid. The massive structure immediately began to destabilize from the top down, slowly disintegrating to reveal the three towering stone giants inside.

Melba plummeted from the sky right after, joining Golza as they began aggressively dismantling the statues piece by piece.

“Stop it!”

Watching the two flanking statues get ruthlessly smashed to rubble, Daigo floored it. He drove the patrol car straight at the kaiju, firing off the roof-mounted laser cannons in a desperate bid to draw Golza and Melba’s attention.

“Daigo, fall back! That’s way too dangerous!” Munakata yelled frantically from GUTS Wing 1.

“Daigo!” Rena’s face was pale with panic. She immediately yanked the controls of GUTS Wing 2, banking hard to provide him some air support.

But she was a second too late. Golza whipped its massive tail around, slamming directly into the patrol car.

BOOM!

The car was sent flying through the air, erupting into a terrifying fireball that instantly lit up the surrounding forests and mountains.

“Daigo…” Rena stared blankly at the wreckage, looking like her very soul had been ripped out of her chest.

The rest of the GUTS squad watched in horrified, grief-stricken silence. None of them could process that Daigo had just sacrificed himself.

Vwoom!

A blinding surge of light erupted from the rubble. The central stone giant had awakened!

In a flash of motion, he vaulted into the air, driving a brutal right hook straight into Melba before twisting around to deliver a crushing dropkick to Golza. He was single-handedly taking on two kaiju at once.

The sudden, dramatic entrance left the GUTS squad stunned for a few seconds. But they quickly snapped out of it, pushing down their grief and immediately re-engaging in the fight.

“Daigo became Light. Tiga is back online,” Vane noted. The moment he saw Tiga resurrect, he knew Daigo wasn’t dead; he had managed to transform into Light at the absolute last microsecond.

These Ultramen were all the exact same kind of stubborn. They always waited until their human hosts were basically one foot in the grave before deciding to actually acknowledge them!

A quest prompt materialized in front of Vane’s eyes.

[Quest Complete: Assist Daigo, possessor of ancient genetics, in locating the pyramid housing the giant’s body so he may become Ultraman Tiga, the guardian of Earth.]

Right on cue, a miniature Godzilla figurine and a shiny golden block popped into his previously empty inventory.

[Evaluation: “It’s all about luck! If the RNG gods smile upon you, you might just score an ultimate weapon or a rare accessory.”]

The moment the completion notification vanished, a brand-new quest popped up to replace it.

[Quest Notification: Eliminate the four kaiju that attempted to destroy the Ultraman statues. These vile creatures are a direct threat to human civilization. Wipe them out.]

“Let’s see what kind of loot we can get out of this Lucky Block.” Vane eyed the colorful block sitting in his inventory and immediately had his Stand, Steve, crack it open.

A split second later, a massive stone sword laced with diamonds materialized in his inventory.

“Bro, seriously? Look at my size! What the hell am I supposed to do with a titan-sized weapon?!” Vane grumbled in absolute disbelief before pulling the Godzilla Summoner out of his inventory.
