Chapter 142 Wiped Out!

By now, Garura and Zoiger had joined the fray. Daigo’s Tiga was stuck in a brutal 1v4 handicap match. He was rapidly losing ground, practically getting pinned down and brutally jumped by the four kaiju.

“Dammit, the giant can’t handle this many monsters at once!”

“Open fire! Support the giant!” Munakata roared over the comms.

GUTS Wing 1 and GUTS Wing 2 unleashed a barrage of lasers and missiles, doing everything they could to run interference. Unfortunately, the kaiju had ridiculously high defense stats. The squad’s payload barely even scratched the monsters’ armor.

If anything, the GUTS squad’s distraction only managed to piss off Melba. The beast spread its wings and launched into the sky, actively hunting down the squad’s jets while the remaining three kaiju went back to ruthlessly ganging up on Tiga.

“When darkness falls and monsters run rampant once again… When the Earth suffers and all living things cry out your name… Arise, King of the Monsters. Godzilla.”

Vane hoisted the summoner high into the air.

BOOM!

Several massive bolts of crimson lightning crashed down from the sky, erupting in a blinding flash of light as Godzilla materialized on the battlefield.

Now fully transformed into Godzilla, Vane looked down at his outstretched hands, instinctively flexing his massive claws a few times.

It was in that exact moment he realized something beautiful: Godzilla had arms. Meaning, Godzilla could absolutely wield weapons.

Oh, so the titan-sized stone sword was meant to be used AFTER I transformed into Godzilla?

Damn, when did this quest mod get so ridiculously considerate?!

Vane immediately switched to his equipment slot and equipped the sword. The colossally heavy stone blade materialized right in Godzilla’s grip. His massive claws locked around the hilt, and to his surprise, it felt incredibly natural to hold.

Seeing Godzilla crash the party, the three kaiju currently jumping Tiga, the GUTS squad, and even Tiga himself all froze in sheer disbelief.

Where the hell did another kaiju come from? And why on earth is it holding a massive sword?! Are monsters using tech now too?!

Vane let out an ear-splitting roar at the sky before charging straight at the trio of monsters. Realizing the newcomer definitely wasn’t friendly, Golza, Garura, and Zoiger roared back. Abandoning the downed Ultraman Tiga, they rushed at Vane, fully intending to jump him instead.

But they were about to learn a very hard lesson: there’s a world of difference between fighting empty-handed and packing a weapon.

“Vane’s Sword Art, First Form: Smashing the Bastard Turtle!”

The second Golza closed the distance, Vane channeled his momentum and swung the stone sword in a massive, sweeping arc. The impossibly heavy, rock-solid blade slammed brutally into Golza’s skull.

BANG!

Driven by raw kinetic force and the sword’s inherent Knockback property, Golza was instantly launched into the air. The beast slammed back down into the dirt, kicking up a massive cloud of dust and shattered rock.

The GUTS squad members gasped collectively, sucking in a sharp breath of cold air.

Golza—a kaiju capable of tearing the very earth apart—had just been swatted away like a fly with a single sword strike?! Just where did this new monster come from, and why was it so ridiculously overpowered?

Garura and Zoiger paused for a fraction of a second, staring dumbly at Golza’s flying trajectory.

Vane seized the opening and charged them.

“Vane’s Sword Art, Second Form: Splitting the Kaiju!”

He raised the stone blade high and brought it crashing down onto Garura’s head. The blunt force triggered the Stun effect, leaving the massive monster dizzy and literally spinning in circles.

Zoiger lunged at him, spitting a barrage of fireballs. Vane casually batted them away with his sword, deflecting the blazing projectiles into the surrounding mountains where they erupted into explosive fireballs.

Isn’t Zoiger supposed to be asleep in the ancient ruins of R’lyeh? Why the hell is it showing up now? Vane wondered. Is Gatanothor, the Master of Darkness, about to wake up? Did it send its minions ahead to clear out Earth so it can destroy the place in peace?

Muttering to himself, Vane executed a classic Minecraft jump-crit. The stone sword smashed into Zoiger’s body, triggering the knockback and sending the bird-like kaiju crashing into a nearby mountain in an avalanche of dirt and rubble.

Tiga, still sprawled on the ground, and the watching GUTS squad members were utterly floored.

It wiped the floor with three kaiju in a single exchange! This newly arrived monster was incredibly strong. It really was true: when a kaiju knows martial arts, absolutely nothing can stand in its way.

Ultraman Tiga picked himself up off the dirt, just in time to see Melba give up on chasing the GUTS Wings and dive-bomb toward the ground.

Your fight is with me.

Tiga instantly shifted into his blue Sky Type form. He vaulted into the air and nailed Melba with a flying kick, knocking the beast out of the sky. The two immediately locked into a brutal, chaotic melee.

Roar!

Shaking off the dizziness, Golza’s forehead began to glow brightly. It unleashed its Ultrasonic Ray straight at Vane.

In response, the dorsal plates along Godzilla’s back lit up one by one, culminating in a blinding, superheated blast of Atomic Breath directly at Golza.

The two energy beams collided mid-air, unleashing a shockwave so terrifying it ripped the surrounding trees clean out of the ground by their roots. Unfortunately for Golza, its Ultrasonic Ray was no match for Godzilla’s Atomic Breath. The radioactive blue beam overpowered the ray, pushing it right back. The Atomic Breath slammed directly into Golza’s head, detonating it instantly. The massive, headless corpse collapsed to the ground with a heavy thud.

Even after firing off such a massive attack, Vane felt completely topped off on energy. Pivoting his massive frame, he locked eyes on Garura and Zoiger, lunging at them with the terrifying grace of an apex predator.

Roar…

Garura, who had just been preparing to charge, shuddered and started backing away. Zoiger, equally terrified out of its wits, scrambled to spread its wings and take off.

“Trying to run?!” Vane scoffed.

He unleashed a second blast of Atomic Breath. The thick, crimson energy beam swept across the sky, effortlessly burning straight through Zoiger’s wings and sending the creature shrieking in agony.

Cutting off the beam, Vane stored his stone sword and initiated a brutal shoulder check. Using his sheer bulk and momentum, he tackled Garura straight to the ground. Before the beast could even try to recover, Vane grabbed its jaws and forcibly pried them open. He fired his Atomic Breath point-blank down Garura’s throat. The superheated beam burned straight through its esophagus, instantly killing it.

Grounded and missing its wings, Zoiger launched a desperate, last-ditch charge. Vane effortlessly whipped his massive tail around, swatting it to the ground. Just like with Garura, he pried its jaws open and blasted an annihilating torrent of Atomic Breath directly into its mouth, wiping it out completely.

Meanwhile, over on the other side of the battlefield, Melba met its end at the hands of a blinking, red-light Tiga, who blew it away with a Ranpalt Light Bullet.

With that, all four kaiju were officially wiped out.

Vane immediately dropped his transformation, vanishing into a swirl of crimson lightning and thick fog. Tiga let out a triumphant grunt before launching himself straight into the sky, disappearing from everyone’s sight.
