Miss Witch, It's Time to Clean the Entries
Chapter 140 - 114: Unexpectedly Silky Smooth
Chapter 140: Chapter 114: Unexpectedly Silky Smooth
Mary’s implication was clear: If he wasn’t satisfied, they would drop all pretenses and go to war.
Furthermore, it would be a war that he, Lian Moria, had instigated.
Lian, of course, wouldn’t fall for it.
The concession he wanted from Mary was much greater than this.
’And besides, Mary had just called him a shameless noble!’
"I’m not satisfied. Not at all! My Uncle Chris lost his life, while Yaxin Matic only lost his title as a nobleman. That’s not fair."
When Lian roared at Mary with such fury, everyone was shocked.
Lian behaved like a young man who had just lost a close relative, his emotions appearing utterly genuine.
He also showed such courage, daring to roar at Mary, the Southern Dominator.
Mary, too, was momentarily stunned by his outburst.
In her entire life, this was the first time anyone had ever roared at her.
She found the experience very, very, very... novel.
Lian snatched the sword from Mary’s hand and pointed it at Yaxin Matic.
Yaxin Matic frowned deeply and closed his eyes, believing he was about to die in the great war that was on the verge of erupting, becoming the very spark that would ignite it.
As long as he could help Mary obtain the dominance she desired, his death would be a worthy sacrifice.
Yaxin Matic prepared to meet his death calmly.
Meanwhile, the legs of the many ministers and nobles had gone weak with fear.
Lian raised the longsword, and Mary’s gaze sharpened.
Nancy Scalia wanted to step forward and stop him, but Mary held her back.
She wanted to see if the young man before her truly dared to do it.
If he really did it, Mary wouldn’t mind dismembering him on the spot to avenge her Chief Knight, Yaxin Matic.
Lian shot a look at Alex Pool, but Alex Pool didn’t understand.
"Lord Lian, no matter what decision you make, we will always support you."
Alex Pool was already prepared for war.
Lian broke into a nervous sweat.
He deeply regretted not bringing Anna. She would have definitely understood his glance.
Kob, Kroli, and Anderson were not the type to think things through either; they just stared at him nervously.
Helpless, Lian could only make a desperate attempt and test the unspoken understanding he had with his fiancée.
He glanced sideways at Catherine’s fair face, meeting her beautiful eyes.
Clever Catherine grabbed Lian’s arm, stopping him from swinging the sword down.
"Darling, you can’t do this!"
Catherine struggled to find the right words; after all, she wasn’t as skilled at lying as Lian.
Fortunately, she wasn’t alone.
The moment Catherine understood Lian’s intent, Dora caught on as well.
The ever-lively Dora had been itching to perform for a while now.
Watching Lian’s one-man show had made her itch to join in.
"Catherine, don’t stop me! I must kill this man to avenge my Uncle Chris."
"Oh, Lord Lian, have you forgotten what kind of person Uncle Chris was?"
Dora suddenly interjected.
Lian and Catherine both stared at her, dumbfounded.
She excitedly grabbed Lian’s other arm.
"He was a devout believer in the God of Tiger. After his entire family died tragically in a single night, he realized it was a punishment from the god. A punishment for the countless innocents he had brutally slaughtered in war over the years, and for the blood that stained his hands. From that moment on, he wouldn’t even step on an ant. He hoped that by atoning for his sins, he could grant his family peace in Heaven."
Dora took hold of both Lian’s and Catherine’s hands.
"We must respect the great Uncle Chris. I believe he wouldn’t want us to avenge him; he wouldn’t want more bloodshed in his name. Instead of avenging Uncle Chris, we should fulfill his last wish."
Khrish, the Governor of Yusofa, could never have imagined that his despicable character would be so elevated after his death, to the point of being called "the great Uncle Chris."
’Last wish? What was Uncle Chris’s last wish?’
Pretending to be grief-stricken, Lian lowered the Knight’s Sword.
At the same time, he complained inwardly, ’Miss Magic Box, you really know how to spin a tale. How did I never realize you had such a talent for acting?’
Mary narrowed her eyes. Dora looked familiar, but she couldn’t remember where she’d seen her before.
"The Disease Witch, Dora."
Nancy Scalia pointed incredulously at Dora, the beautiful young woman in a long white dress with her red hair tied up high.
Only then did Mary realize that the actress before her was none other than the Disease Witch.
’Didn’t she already lose control and die?’
"Oh, you know my sister, Dora. Unfortunately, I’m not my sister. I’m Dora’s twin sister. My name is Magic Box."
Dora smiled at Nancy Scalia, then continued speaking amidst the bewildered gazes of the crowd.
"Uncle Chris’s wish was for his beloved nephew and niece to reconcile. He was a loyal retainer of the Jackson Family and watched Catherine and Lorne grow up. He didn’t want you to become enemies. If possible, he hoped you would live in harmony."
At this, Lorne Jackson finally came to his senses.
He knew he was going to be saved.
"Very well. I no longer require this gentleman’s head. All I want now is to fulfill Uncle Chris’s last wish. Lady Mary, please return Lorne Jackson to the Blue Moon Territory. Although he deceived you, he is, after all, Catherine’s brother. We will imprison him in a church for the rest of his life, where he will serve the God of Tiger and atone for his sins."
Lian looked at Mary with a compassionate gaze.
This time, it was Mary’s turn to feel troubled.
This was a move she had truly not expected.
And it had been executed so smoothly.
Catherine watched Mary nervously. Dora, holding her hand, gave her a reassuring look.
Just then, Grand Priest Cosme Pizarro stepped forward and said quite calmly,
"The God of Tiger is willing to accept the sinner Lorne Jackson. You may stay by my side."
Hearing the Grand Priest’s words, the corner of Lian’s mouth twitched involuntarily.
’Lorne Jackson, my dear brother-in-law, it’s not that I don’t want to save you. You’ve just escaped the tiger’s den only to enter the wolf’s.’
Hearing even the Grand Priest say this, Mary let out a cold laugh.
But being as clever and brilliant as she was, she immediately thought of a countermove.
"Since Catherine and the Grand Priest can forgive Lorne, why can’t I? Lorne, you can leave me and return to the Blue Moon Territory. Do you need me to call for Grace for you? She has always been the one to serve you and knows your preferences best. It’s just that she seems to have been feeling a little unwell lately. I heard she’s pregnant."
Mary looked at Lorne Jackson.
Lorne Jackson froze.
He knew Mary was threatening him.
Grace was Lorne Jackson’s maid, a beautiful noblewoman, and also Mina’s older sister.
The pressure of living in Rose Territory was too much for Lorne Jackson, so he frequently slept with Grace to cope with his fear and anxiety. Now, Grace was pregnant with his child.
If Lorne Jackson agreed to return to the Green Shade Territory now and leave Mary’s side...
...Mary would kill Grace and the child in her womb without a second thought.
Upon hearing that Lorne Jackson had gotten involved with a woman named Grace, the Grand Priest immediately lost all interest in him.
He slowly rose and left, taking all the Priests with him.
A smile played on Mary’s lips.
She had long known that Grand Priest Cosme Pizarro preferred virgins; such were the benefits of having spies all over the Holy Empire.
Mina clenched her fists nervously. She had heard her sister’s name. She had once thought that her entire family had also died in the Blue Moon Territory disaster.
She never thought there would be a survivor, let alone her own dear sister, Grace.
"Miss Catherine, Grace is my sister," Mina said in a low voice.
Catherine’s lovely brows furrowed. She knew this was Mary’s scheme.
Lorne Jackson, like his father, placed great importance on family.
Lian really wanted to tell Lorne Jackson the story of his father, Lord Moria, again, but he realized it wouldn’t be appropriate with his fiancée present.
"Lady Mary, in that case, please return Grace to us as well. I am willing to drop the matter of Sir Yaxin Matic killing Uncle Chris. Sir Yaxin Matic can continue to serve as your Chief Knight."
Lian said shamelessly, "I believe this is also what Uncle Chris would have wanted to see."
