Chapter 125: Just Before

[3rd POV]

The rest of the day had gone pretty well. Watching Lily had been mostly a cake walk, with very little problems propping up. The most that had happened was that Billie had to help the little girl use the bathroom and that was about it. Nothing crazy or anything.

Cam and Mitchell had been very surpised to hear that, as she would usually kick up a fuss with them at least once. But they came to the quick realization that their daughter adored their cousin and her girlfriend, and actually began to cry when they had to leave.

Billie and Haley promptly promised more play dates with the girl, knowing she would be throwing more fits if they did not. That, and they both enjoyed watching her, and thought she was utterly adorable. She acted great with them, and did not cause any problems.

And thanks to that the two of them had gotten to sleep at a relatively good time, without much of a problem. And that would make the little teaching session with the Kardashian's pretty decent.

At the moment the two were driving to the recording studio that Billie owned, and where she would be teaching the two of them.

While driving, Haley had asked her a pretty interesting question.

"You know, I don't think I've ever actually asked this, but why do you care so much about teaching the Kardashians, and the Kardashians in general? You don't care for their show or anything, so why put so much importance on it?" Haley asked, as she sat in the passenger seat, sipping on her morning coffee with curiosity in her eyes.

Billie sighed at her question, finding that it was a good one.

"Plus, even if you said no to teaching them, or if they started a fuss, you're like...ten times richer than them, and popular worldwide. What could they say or do to cause problems to you?" Haley added, further "cementing" her question. It was once again, a good point.

Billie waited for a few moments, locking eyes with her girlfriend as the light turned red. She wanted to make sure that she had asked all of her questions.

Seeing as she had, she began to speak.

"You're not wrong, Haley. If I did say no, or if they started anything, they would not actually cause too many problems for me. Since I am like...ten times richer than them at least. And I am far more popular. That part is true" Billie began, before continuing as she paid attention to the road ahead.

"The reason why I am so focused on this, is because while they cannot cause too many problems for me that will do much, they can still cause some problems. I'd rather not deal with any problems than just a few. And while I do have more connections and am more popular, they have connections in a few spaces that I simply do not" Billie explained, before continuing more.

"They have connections in fashion, makeup, and similar spaces. I could get those connections, sure, but it would take a lot longer than using theirs a bit. Or at least name dropping them when trying to build those connections" Billie explained, getting a nod from her girlfriend.

"Beyond that, the problems they can cause me will likely not be big, but they will last. Kris is the exact type of person to be petty and continue to make comments at me for another decade just because I didn't want to teach her daughters, something I just cannot be bothered to deal with" Billie said, as Haley began to realize a few things.

"Finally, I am focused on this because...I genuinely like teaching. And because two younger teens are actually interested in learning from me, and it'd be wrong of me to ruin the potential of two younger girls just because I don't really like Kris very much" Billie finished.

"...That actually makes a lot of sense. Sorry if I sounded a bit bitchy asking, just was wondering" Haley responded after a few moments of contemplating what her girlfriend had said.

"You weren't bitchy babe, you were just asking a question. If I had been in your shoes I'd have asked the same question. Especially since I am bringing you along for this" Billie said with a small smile on her face, knowing that her girlfriend was just curious.

She just wanted to know her reasoning, that was all.

Haley just leaned over and pecked her on the cheek, making Billie's smile widen ever so slightly. A small flush coming to her cheeks, albeit barely. Haley giggled at the sight of the small blush on her cheeks, as they both began to pay attention to the road once more.

"So, when are they going to get there anyways?" Haley asked, as they began to get closer to the studio that they'd be teaching them at.

"From what Kris's email said? By 10. So in like 45 minutes or so. I figured that we get here early so we can prep things a bit for this. That and we need to decide what sort of equipment we want to introduce them to, if any at all" Billie replied. They were around five minutes out, so that would give them around 40 minutes to prepare a bit more.

"I'd say we give them the basics. So like a microphone, guitar, maybe a piano. Nothing complicated or anything. That would be for if they are truly interested in becoming artists" Haley said, not thinking they needed much more than that.

They were beginners. Beginners did not need much more than that, not yet.

"Hmm, then that's what we will go with. Since that is basically how I started" Billie replied, giving her a nod. She had started with a bit more than that, like some recording stuff, but nothing too crazy.

Her grandmother had money, but not that much.

She had been a nurse for most of her life, and had saved up quite a lot. All of which had passed down to Billie. But that sort of money just was not enough to live in LA, not with how expensive everything was getting, and would get.

Thankfully Billie was smart with her investments.

Anyways, the two soon got out of their car as they arrived.

The recording studio was a separate one from the main company, and was one that Billie and Haley did all of their personal recording at, or at least the ones that they could not do at home. It was also where they did certain meetings, and was more private.

Billie liked it more for her personal work, while the bigger recording studio was for their stars that worked for/with her company.

Walking in, Billie gave the front desk worker a wave as she returned the greeting, before Billie walked to the room that they would be working in.

It was the one that she personally recorded her songs in, since it was the biggest, most comfortable, and had all the instruments you could ever want to work with inside.

They had went around the room for a few minutes, just setting up a few things to make sure that none of their unreleased songs were showing, which they were not. Then they got a few instruments out, and decide to wait.

And as they began to wait, Billie hummed with only one thought on her mind.

'Let's hope they're on time...'
