Chapter 187: Chapter 187: Zachery: Shock! Aunt York, You’re Going to Marry My Grandpa?

However, for the sake of the plan, Thea York ultimately went and made the soup.

After finishing the snow pear soup, "Christian" demanded to eat and play with other things. Two hours later, both Thea and Mrs. York were drenched in sweat.

Nestled on the sofa, Zachery thought, "This trip wasn’t in vain. Even though these two speak harshly, they work fast and efficiently. Awesome!"

Meanwhile, on the other side, Iris Sloan was extremely anxious. "How could you let Christian go? Thea might put on an act, but that mother of hers... What if Christian gets bullied?"

Mia and the real Christian exchanged a glance. "Brother ’Christian’ won’t be bullied," she said.

Iris shook her head. "You don’t know Mrs. York. She literally tormented the York family’s original wife to sickness and death, then coaxed Chairman York into kicking out his legitimate eldest daughter. People like her have such sharp tongues. I’m just afraid..."

Sharp tongues? Then there was even less reason to be afraid. Mia thought silently, "Who could possibly have a sharper tongue than Zachery?"

At the York family villa.

Thea shot Mrs. York a look. Mrs. York gave a sinister nod. How dare this little brat boss them around! It was time to show him who was in charge!

"Christian, are you having fun today?" Thea asked.

"Yeah, I am," Zachery replied lazily.

Putting on a superior air, Mrs. York let out a fake, light chuckle. "I’m glad you’re happy. After all, you might not have the chance anymore."

Zachery blinked. Did these two women really think he was happy just because they gave him food and drink? His expression didn’t change at all as he asked, "Oh, why is that?"

Thea immediately put on a shy, coquettish look.

Mrs. York’s eyes darted slyly as she covered her lips, laughing softly. "Because Thea is going to become Mrs. Sloan very soon, of course!

"When that time comes, Thea will be the mistress of the Sloan family. Once she has her own child, you won’t be important anymore!"

As she spoke, Mrs. York observed "Christian’s" expression with a dark gaze, eager to see the sadness and disappointment on his face. However, after a long pause, "Christian" just looked up in confusion and asked, "What did you just say? I didn’t hear clearly."

Mrs. York choked on her breath, and the atmosphere instantly grew strange.

Flustered and enraged, she repeated, "I said Thea is going to become Mrs. Sloan soon! Once she’s Mrs. Sloan, you won’t be important anymore!"

Zachery scratched his head. "Why won’t I be important?"

"Because Thea will have her own biological son!" Mrs. York snapped impatiently.

Zachery looked surprised. "What does Aunt York having her own son have to do with me?"

Mrs. York wondered if there was something wrong with this child’s brain. "Because Thea is marrying into the Sloan family!"

"If she marries into the Sloan family, why would I become unimportant?" Zachery asked.

Mrs. York was absolutely furious. "Because Thea will give birth to the new heir of the Sloan family!"

As soon as she roared those words, she realized she had been played by Christian Sloan again! She exploded with rage, jumping up with the urge to slap Zachery right across the face.

"Oh... I understand now. Aunt York is going to marry into the Sloan family and give birth to their heir," Zachery said faintly just then.

Mrs. York sneered. "It’s good that you understand. I advise you to start sucking up to our Thea now, otherwise, once she marries in, you’ll be an outcast!"

After she said that, "Christian’s" expression stiffened. Looking utterly in disbelief, he slowly turned his head to stare blankly at Thea.

Mrs. York felt a wave of immense satisfaction. Seeing Christian Sloan like this reminded her of the first time she had met Stella York and that woman. When the York family’s original wife brought her biological daughter to the door, so many people in their circle were waiting to laugh at her! But so what? That woman still ended up dead, and Stella York was nearly ruined by her upbringing. This was the exact same trick she had used back then. Even Stella had barely survived it. For a five-year-old child like Christian, this must feel like a bolt from the blue!

Mrs. York sneered disdainfully. "Christian, I’m not just saying this, but when a prominent family chooses an heir, they always look at the mother’s qualifications and background.

"Our Thea was born into the York family, is highly educated, and has great looks. Don’t you think her son would be fit to be the Sloan family heir?

"When that happens, won’t your position become rather awkward?"

Mrs. York couldn’t wait to reveal her true colors. "Sigh, if I were you, I’d feel like life was meaningless and just couldn’t go on!"

Thea feigned shyness. "Mom, don’t say that. I’ll treat Christian well in the future too."

Mrs. York waved her hand. "Mom speaks from experience. There’s a difference between one’s own flesh and blood and an outsider—Mom knows this!"

Thea stamped her foot coquettishly. "Mom!" Turning back to "Christian," she added, "Christian, please don’t mind her. I will treat you well in the future, so don’t take it too hard."

"Christian" still maintained his blank expression, as if he was so shocked he could barely speak. "Aunt York..."

Seeing that her goal had been achieved, Thea rolled her eyes slightly, planning to provoke him a little more. "Christian—"

"Aunt York, y-you’re going to marry my grandfather?!"

Those words plunged the entire York household into a deathly silence. Mrs. York froze for three seconds before snapping back to her senses and flying into an instant rage. "What nonsense are you sprouting!"

But Zachery ignored her, continuing to stare at Thea with that same shocked expression. "Even though... even though Grandma has done a lot of wrong things lately, I haven’t heard anything about Grandpa wanting to divorce her...

"Aunt York, isn’t it a bit inappropriate for you to be scheming to marry my grandfather right now...?"

Zachery spoke hesitantly. "Besides... Daddy is already fully grown. Even though Daddy looks down on the Sloan Group, isn’t it a bit unrealistic for you to have a new heir with Grandpa now?"

His tone grew more worried as he went on. "Not to mention, Grandma’s temper... Aunt York, are you serious?"

His barrage of words left Thea and her mother absolutely dumbfounded.

The anger in Mrs. York’s chest surged upwards. "Shut up! Who said Thea is marrying Ethan Sloan!"

Zachery looked puzzled. "Isn’t she? But, Grandma York, didn’t you just say Aunt York is marrying into the Sloan family?

"If she marries into the Sloan family and has the power to control whether I live well or not, I thought about it, and the only way is for her to become my grandmother."

Zachery added another hesitant word of advice, "How about you reconsider this, Aunt York?"

Thea’s face turned ashen. Trembling all over, she forced out a few words through gritted teeth. "Christian, you’ve misunderstood..."

"Misunderstood? How is this a misunderstanding?" "Christian" looked completely baffled. "Is it not a fact that Aunt York is marrying into the Sloan family? Since she’s marrying into the Sloan family, looking around, the only person she can marry is my grandfather! Could there be anyone else? It can’t possibly be my uncle!"

Zachery shook his head. "No, no. Uncle Liam Sloan has always thought Aunt York has a fiancé, so he definitely wouldn’t marry you. Therefore, it can only be Grandpa. Is my analysis correct?"

The veins on Thea’s forehead bulged with rage!
