Monsters Die When Killed
Chapter 594 47: Various Martial Arts, This Is the Karmic Fire Gatling
With so many debilitating effects stacked against him, even someone as powerful as Su Zhou was inevitably and severely impacted.
He had just finished dinner, yet he suddenly felt a little hungry.
So, as if no one else was there, he took a Peach of Immortality from his Personal Space and began to eat.
For a moment, the battlefield fell silent—even as the elites of the Spirit Summoning Association continued to unleash a ceaseless barrage of flaming Spirit Techniques from their Exoskeleton Armor, filling the sky with all manner of Spiritual Light.
Everyone stared blankly at Su Zhou, who had devoured the Peach of Immortality in just three bites and was still strolling toward them. They watched this Monster who had blocked all their attacks simply by advancing with his blade drawn. For a moment, no one on the field knew what to do.
"He... he hasn't even used his True Body, has he?"
"Even the Leader of the Silent probably couldn't have blocked that so easily..."
"Is this guy even human...?"
Sounds of terror and muttered disbelief echoed through the ranks of the Spirit Summoning Association.
Meanwhile, Su Zhou, having spent more than half of his Spiritual Power, was connecting with the world around him to rapidly replenish it.
'It's a good thing the enemy doesn't dare to attack. After all, even I need time to recover my spent Spiritual Power.'
Eight seconds later, restored to his peak condition, Su Zhou prepared to launch his counterattack.
Times had changed—
'Right, I'm always going on about how times have changed, times have changed. But have they really? The Extraordinary and technology... they aren't actually opposing forces, are they.'
'This is a question that requires some serious dialectical thought.'
And so, facing the members of the Spirit Summoning Association who had practically crippled themselves with their own assault, a composed Su Zhou once again extended his hand, just as he had when he formed the Spiritual Power Electromagnetic Cannon.
Countless Gale Seeds flew from his body, hovering in midair. They gathered to form the sleek framework of a gun—a thick body composed of numerous slender barrels, its menacing appearance radiating an endless aura of death.
Grim, black-and-white Karmic Fire flowed and surged across its surface.
—It was a rather shameless way to make "the times" change on a whim, but that's just how it was.
Facing the members of the Spirit Summoning Association, who were already showing signs of wanting to retreat and avoid a direct confrontation, Su Zhou used his Spiritual Power to form an immense killing machine.
Gale Seed Mimicry, The Hundred Martial Arts... This was the Karmic Fire Gatling!
"This isn't a Divine Technique made specifically for killing,"
The barrels of the Karmic Fire Gatling began to rotate without a sound. The slowly burning, cold, black-and-white flames were shaped into bullets by his will. Facing the Exoskeleton Armors that were already turning in unison to flee, Su Zhou calmly muttered, "but before your souls self-destruct, you might find things to be a little worse than death."
Then, in the next instant, a storm of black-and-white bullets blotted out the sky.
The first to be hit were the remnants of the Tree-men controlled by the Planters. However, the black-and-white bullets merely pierced through them without igniting. After all, they were just tool-like trees recently elevated by the Planters, possessing neither good nor evil, so they naturally would not be set aflame. This initial display of power misled the members of the Spirit Summoning Association, leading them to believe they were just ordinary Spiritual Power bullets.
'Is that all? Looks like we can take a few hits after all.'
But in the next instant, the Controller—who was hit while still unconscious—let out a blood-curdling scream that taught everyone the consequences of underestimating the Karma Fire Bullets.
"AHHHHHH—I, I..."
Awakened by the most extreme pain from the coma induced by the magical backlash, the Controller saw her entire life flash before her eyes. The second daughter of a great family, a happy childhood, marrying the man she loved, having children of her own... But her son and daughter were both destined to leave her, to soar to new heights or marry someone else... 'This is unacceptable! Absolutely unacceptable! They are my children! By what right can they escape my control?!'
Was it a mother's love, twisted into madness? Or some other, more sinister and terrifying desire? In any case, it was just a trigger. The Leaders of the Spirit Summoning Association were all born as unhinged lunatics—true Monsters in the eyes of ordinary people. All they needed was the slightest trigger to transform into inhuman Demons.
Using money to manipulate the course of people's lives, using schemes to control their very thoughts—all of it required skill, luck, and carried risk. But with Extraordinary Power, things were different... 'I could control far more than just my children. I could control my husband, my family, even the entire city where I live...'
The Karmic Fire blazed, turning her into a human torch as she wailed. Black-and-white flames erupted from the seams of her Exoskeleton Armor, striking terror into the hearts of all the Spirit Summoning Association members.
Next was the Reborn, who believed he could evade the bullets by transforming into a great bird of Flame. He twisted and tumbled through the air, trying to dodge Su Zhou's sweeping fire, but how could his flight speed possibly compare to Spiritual Power Bullets moving at over three thousand meters per second? In an instant, hundreds of Karma Fire Bullets riddled his body.
"No, no! I'm immortal!"
In an instant, the Karmic Fire burning through his meridians and disrupting the elemental cycle of his great Flame bird form killed the Reborn. But he quickly reverted to his human form and revived—yet the Karmic Fire clung to him like a festering disease, continuing to burn. The old man shrieked, "AHHHH!! What is this stuff?!"
