Monsters Die When Killed

Chapter 691 - 29: The Caller, Full Firepower

  • Next Chapter

This was a reserve of Spiritual Power even greater than Zhou Buyi’s—an amount that not even Su Zhou could match. The Spiritual Power the Deep Space Caller had accumulated for decades, gathered by freely spreading its avatars across outer space, was now unleashed in a torrent.

In that instant, the Divine Blade cleaving through the air froze mid-strike. All the flying sparks were extinguished. Even the unstoppable radiation could no longer cause other molecules to accelerate. Su Zhou’s figure was like an insect trapped in amber, beautiful and frozen.

"Die!"

Then, amid the Deep Space Caller’s soul-shaking shriek, a massive, formless power poured directly into Su Zhou’s head. In an instant, a terrifying destructive force capable of leveling several city blocks shattered his brain from the inside. The extremely condensed Telekinesis struck at the most vulnerable point, destroying Su Zhou’s fragile thought structures and blowing his entire head apart in a spray of blood and brain matter!

It had to be said, Su Zhou’s brain structure was also exceptionally tough. If it hadn’t seized the momentary opening created when its attack had frozen Su Zhou, the Deep Space Caller never would have had this chance. Had this been their first encounter, it certainly wouldn’t have been able to grasp the opportunity. It was only because they had been locked in a long struggle and had gathered significant data on each other that it had succeeded in one fell swoop!

The next instant, it prepared to press its advantage and exploit this opening, continuing on to shred Su Zhou’s Soul and completely extinguish any chance of a counterattack. For a Transcendent, the physical body was not the true weak point. Only by annihilating both the Soul and the body could one guarantee the death of a Commander Tier Powerhouse!

But it was soon shocked to discover that Su Zhou, whose cognitive organs had been destroyed and who should have been stunned for at least a moment, showed no signs of hesitation at all. Instead, he sneered and used his own Spiritual Power to trap the force that had invaded his body.

"Who told you a Cultivator’s brain only has one structure?"

Possessing a Bipolar Brain, Su Zhou seized the moment while the Deep Space Caller’s power was temporarily unable to recover. He grinned ferociously and raised his long blade once more. Inside his head, besides the solid thought structure, there was also a liquid, gel-like brain tissue that was completely impervious to physical impact damage!

Using the Water and Earth Magic he had learned in the Reincarnation World, he manipulated the Earth Attribute to restore his solid brain structure. Then, using Water Attribute Magic, he recalled the splattered brain matter and blood. The wound where Su Zhou’s head had exploded healed as if time were reversing. In fact, even before it fully healed, parts of his brain tissue had already begun to regenerate. If it had been just a little later, Su Zhou might have even grown a second set of brain structures!

But this was no time to focus on such grotesque details. The Blade of Annihilation, once again wreathed in flames, even ignited Su Zhou’s own blood. Under the extreme heat, the purple-blue Dragon Blood transformed into a misty cloud of plasma.

Then, with a slash that tore across the sky, the blade came down!

A plasma cloud as bright as the sun smashed down directly toward the Deep Space Caller. But it was not without a defense. The massive extraterrestrial snail shook the ground, causing countless tons of Moon Rock dust to break free from gravity and rise up at its will. Before the plasma cloud, however, the dust was instantly melted into molten gas. A blinding flash and shockwave blasted the barrier to smithereens, but it still managed to block the vast majority of the power behind Su Zhou’s strike.

However, while it could block the mundane flames, it could not stop the cold Flame of Sin. Flying black and white sparks landed on the Deep Space Caller’s body. In an instant, the raging Karmic Fire began to burn intensely.

An interrogation... an interrogation of the heart... an interrogation of good and evil... The Karmic Fire blazed, rising from within the soul.

But a monster is a monster precisely because nothing can interrogate it.

’Only humans are tormented by their sins.’

And so, despite feeling an endless, soul-deep agony, the giant, unrepentant Monster let out a roar that shook the Spirit Realm. It charged toward Su Zhou, who had also transformed into his True Body—a nearly fifty-meter-tall Immortal Dragon.

The Immortal Dragon, whose white scales were already at their limit from the violent churning of its own Spiritual Power, didn’t hesitate. With scales constantly exploding in bursts of fire across its body, it thrust out a claw and pierced into the Deep Space Caller’s flesh.

Then, just like that, it ripped off a large chunk of the creature’s shell—along with the praising, shouting faces and Souls attached to it—and swallowed it whole.
