Mr. CEO, You Look Strangely Familiar
Chapter 570 - 561: Main Story Ending (Part 3)
Quentin Grant claimed her lips, holding her in a deep kiss under the gazes of so many onlookers.
Ethan Ellsworth whistled from the side as everyone else cheered, surrounding the couple and showering them with flower petals.
Nora Ainsworth and Quentin Grant stood in the center of the crowd, a picturesque couple amidst a sea of blossoms.
A soaring, passionate English song began to play, and everyone joined hands, dancing with boundless joy.
Finally, everyone gathered for a large group photo.
In the evening, everyone gathered on the resort grounds, where various acrobatic acts were being performed beside a massive swimming pool.
Quentin Grant stood up, raising his wine glass. "I’d like to propose a toast to all of you. Cheers!"
Everyone rose to their feet, clinking their glasses together.
Dylan Grant and Elmer Grant, dressed in sharp little white suits, were the first to speak, their voices in unison.
"We wish our daddy and mommy eternal happiness."
Just as they finished, an even louder gasp rippled through the media gathered in the distance.
The guests all turned to look in that direction.
The air filled with the ceaseless clicking of camera shutters and a rising clamor.
It was an atmosphere far beyond what any ordinary person could ever hope to experience.
Quentin Grant took Nora Ainsworth’s hand as they stood and watched. In the distance, a man in a well-tailored, light blue suit and sunglasses was walking toward them, followed by an assistant and a secretary.
Quentin Grant led Nora Ainsworth forward a few steps. After a moment, the handsome man reached them and stopped.
"I knew you’d come. I’ve been waiting for you," Quentin Grant said.
The man took off his sunglasses, revealing chiseled features that were, remarkably, a touch even more striking than Quentin Grant’s.
A man like him was destined to be one of heaven’s chosen few.
"Mr. Grant, I hope you don’t mind me being late. I only recently took over the company, and the old man left me a mountain of headaches. I’ve been so busy I’m practically a new man."
Quentin Grant beckoned to a waiter, took a wine glass from the tray, and handed it to the man. "Nothing is a problem for Mr. Chambers. You’re a few years younger than I am, but your business has flourished in such a short time. I’m truly impressed. What’s more, we’re still business partners. I hope that going forward, our collaboration becomes even smoother, that we can break through our current limitations and strive for even grander goals."
Tristan Chambers raised his glass to him. "Absolutely. Cheers."
"Cheers."
The two men clinked their glasses, and Quentin Grant continued, "This is my wife, Nora Ainsworth."
Tristan Chambers extended his hand, a meaningful smile playing on his lips. "A pleasure. I’m Tristan Chambers."
Nora Ainsworth’s heart skipped a beat. ’I’ve heard so much about the famous Tristan Chambers,’ she thought. ’He’s from one of only four families in the world with a state-sanctioned private force, the Blackguard. There are no pictures of him online at all. Tristan Chambers is an incredibly private person.’
’And he’s quite young. How could he control the Chambers Group without some serious skills?’
She extended her hand to shake his. "Hello, I’m Nora Ainsworth."
"Mr. Grant is a very fortunate man," he said. "Twin sons and a beautiful, elegant wife. Speaking of which, I’ve actually seen some of your work on television, Mrs. Grant."
Nora was surprised. "You watch TV dramas, Mr. Chambers?"
"I’ll catch a bit here and there when I’m free. The show you starred in with Ethan Ellsworth, *Love when the sun comes out*, is quite popular with viewers in my country."
Nora smiled humbly. "I never would have guessed. That’s quite a surprise. I’ll let you two talk, I’m just going to go over there."
"Alright."
Nora turned and walked over to the women’s table, taking a seat next to Faye Sinclair. "Mom, are you happy today?"
"Nina, of course I’m happy you’re getting married. How could I not be? I was so excited I couldn’t sleep a wink last night. Now that both you and Sierra are married, I can finally rest easy."
"Nora, who’s that handsome guy talking to Young Master Grant?" Chloe Marshall whispered.
Nora whispered back, "You’ll never guess. He’s the current head of the Chambers Group, Tristan Chambers."
Chloe Marshall clapped a hand over her mouth, completely stunned. "I can’t believe Tristan Chambers is so young..."
Zoe Ellsworth took a sip of orange juice, offering her unreserved praise. "He’s gorgeous. A man who can hold his own against Quentin in every respect is definitely no ordinary person."
"Zoe, I saw a post on a forum once saying that Tristan Chambers is an illegitimate child. His mother was supposedly his father’s third wife."
Nora shook her head. "I have no idea. In any case, there’s nothing about his private life online. He probably just doesn’t like having his life in the spotlight."
"Not many powerful people enjoy the spotlight," Zoe Ellsworth said. "Have you guys heard the saying?"
Holly Wood asked, "What saying?"
"They say that of the four current Sect Leaders, Quentin is the first to get married. The other three are still prime bachelors, and every one of them is devastatingly handsome and incredibly capable. They’re all masters of the Blackguard. They’re known as the Four Young Masters of the World."
Nora let out a snort of laughter. "I heard that one a long time ago. It’s all over the internet."
"I’d love to know what kind of women the other three will end up with," Chloe Marshall said with a grin. Suddenly, she pointed toward Quentin. "Hey, isn’t that woman Nicole?"
Everyone looked over, and Nora recognized her instantly. "Isn’t that the lead actress from Ethan’s last TV drama? How did she get in?"
The women exchanged glances. Zoe Ellsworth lowered her voice, "That woman probably snuck in somehow. Just look at her. I know exactly what she’s after."
Holly Wood was confused. "What’s she after?"
"She obviously wouldn’t dare make a move on Quentin. Today is his and Nora’s wedding, after all. Her target is obvious—she’s going for the other one."
"You mean, Tristan Chambers?"
Zoe Ellsworth scoffed. "Is there any doubt? It’s pathetic when women don’t respect themselves. Just watch. It won’t be long before this Nicole meets a miserable end."
Chloe Marshall smirked. "Yes, let’s all just wait and see."
Several pairs of eyes turned to watch the scene unfold.
To everyone’s surprise, Nicole, holding a glass of red wine, pretended to be drunk and stumbled, deliberately splashing the contents all over Tristan Chambers.
Time seemed to stand still.
Quentin Grant started to speak, but Tristan Chambers held up a hand to stop him. He straightened up, his eyes narrowing as he stared at the woman before him.
He slowly walked toward Nicole and pinned her against a wall, their bodies incredibly close.
Nicole’s heart hammered against her ribs. Just as she was about to speak, his voice reached her ear. "Faking it? Trying to get my attention?"
Having been seen through, Nicole couldn’t back down. She had to commit to the act. Pouting, she wrapped her trembling hands around his neck. "Sir, I... I don’t know what you mean."
A smile touched Tristan Chambers’s lips. His long fingers effortlessly closed around her neck, and he began to apply gentle pressure. "Do you understand now?"
With their backs to the light, everyone else assumed they were flirting. Only Quentin Grant could hear and see everything clearly.
Nicole’s eyes widened as she stared into his increasingly cold gaze. Terrified, she nodded frantically.
He released her and uttered a single word. "Scram."
Nicole scrambled away, nearly tripping as she fled, a clear sign of her terror.
Tristan Chambers turned back to Quentin Grant with a smile. "Mr. Grant, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to change my shirt."
"Of course." Quentin Grant knew this resort was a Chambers Group property. It was Tristan’s home turf; he knew his way around better than anyone.
When Quentin Grant returned to Nora’s side, the group asked if Tristan Chambers had been flirting with Nicole. Quentin told them what really happened, making everyone realize that you really can’t judge things by appearances alone.
A short while later, Tristan Chambers returned, now dressed in casual attire. He walked over to Quentin’s table, sat down, and poured himself a drink. "I must once again congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Grant. To your happy marriage and a lifetime of love."
Everyone stood and raised their glasses, clinking them together. "Cheers!"
Afterward, they all watched the acrobatic show together. The rest of the evening was filled with laughter and cheerful chatter, and every face glowed with happiness.
Everyone had quite a bit to drink. As the party began to wind down late in the evening, an inexplicable chill crept into the air.
"Nora, why don’t we girls head back and get some rest?" Zoe Ellsworth suggested. "Let the guys stay here and keep drinking. I’ve heard there are a lot of ghost stories about Zelkova, but who knows if they’re true. We should head back. Everyone had a great time today."
Nora nodded. "Alright, let’s head back. Zoe, you be careful, especially with the baby."
"I’ll be fine."
The three children—Dylan Grant, Elmer Grant, and Dorothy Ellsworth—were playing on the swings outside the hotel. A wind began to pick up, and Dylan tilted his face to the sky. "Dark clouds are rolling in. See? There were so many stars just a minute ago, and now they’re all covered. Should we go back inside?"
"Okay, let’s go back. Our daddies and mommies should be wrapping up by now. It’s dark, so we shouldn’t be running around."
With that, Dorothy Ellsworth hopped off the swing, took each of the boys by the hand, and led them toward the hotel lobby.
Before they even reached the elevator, they heard a small child wailing.
When they reached the elevator doors, they saw a little girl inside, rubbing her eyes and crying her heart out.
As the children stepped inside, they immediately felt the temperature drop. It was freezing.
Dorothy knelt. "What’s wrong, little girl? Can’t you find your mommy?"
The little girl looked to be only a year or so old. She sat there, wailing her heart out. Seeing Dorothy get closer, she flailed her little arms, shouting a single, sharp word over and over, "Don’t! Don’t! Don’t!"
Dorothy stood back up. "Okay, okay, I won’t come any closer."
Just as she was about to back away, the little girl reached out and grabbed her hand, drool dribbling from her mouth.
Dorothy picked her up, but the girl only cried louder, flailing her arms again and patting at Dorothy’s shoulders. "Don’t! Don’t! Don’t! AHHHHH!"
Dorothy used her free hand to wipe away the girl’s tears. "Don’t cry, little one. Can you tell me where your mommy is? I’ll take you to her, okay?"
Elmer Grant spoke up. "She’s even younger than we are. She can’t even talk properly. How would she know where her mom is? Let’s take her to the front desk and ask for help, okay?"
The moment they stepped out of the elevator, the three of them felt the air turn much warmer, as if they had gone from the South Pole to the heart of Africa in an instant.
