Victoria Thornton’s child didn’t survive. During the New Year, the hospital only had doctors on duty. By the time Daxton Lancaster drove the nurse to pick up the delivery doctor, Victoria Thornton’s child had already turned to a pool of blood.

The miscarriage, caused a lot of fuss at the hospital for several hours before the baby was successfully induced.

Even though this wasn’t Daxton Lancaster’s family’s fault, Eva Hayes unreasonably accused them in the hospital, "Are you satisfied now? My grandson is gone, Daxton Lancaster, I knew you did it on purpose! You purposely drove slowly and didn’t let the doctor come to treat our Victoria, and you!"

Eva Hayes pointed at Lorelei Howard’s nose, "Pretending to be kind every day, but secretly cursing my grandson, I know!"

Actually, Eva Hayes knew very well that the yard was stained with so much blood, she wasn’t a naïve young girl. But unreasonable people like to push the blame onto others, seemingly to find some balance.

Daxton Lancaster’s eyes turned cold, "Auntie, if it weren’t for the fact that you just lost your grandson, I wouldn’t let you off so easily!"

"Mom, let’s go!" Daxton Lancaster gently wrapped his arm around Lorelei Howard’s shoulder, taking his mother away with him.

Lorelei Howard sighed and shook her head helplessly, "That Eva Hayes is really something!"

Truly, it is said that no good deed goes unpunished.

"Daxton, remind Violet to be careful when going home; the roads are slippery and cold, don’t let her fall."

"Alright." Daxton Lancaster replied, clearly in a bad mood.

Such an incident on the first day of the New Year would unsettle anyone. After dinner, Violet Zimmerman lay early in bed, staring at her husband deep in thought, and asked.

"Daxton, do you think my cousin-in-law is very sad?"

The child was almost born when such an accident occurred; if it were her, she’d go crazy.

"I don’t know."

Daxton Lancaster replied without thinking.

Violet Zimmerman didn’t know what had occurred at the hospital, thinking Daxton was upset with her, she lightly shook his wrist and said,

"Daxton, please don’t be mad, the snowmen in the yard were built by Aurora and me together."

Violet Zimmerman’s explanation made Daxton Lancaster immediately understand that his brother’s influence was inevitable.

His gaze darkened before turning to Violet Zimmerman, "Did Joseph know you ate Little White?"

Speaking of this, Violet Zimmerman felt guilty, she licked her lips, "I told him."

"What did he say?" Daxton Lancaster asked calmly.

Violet Zimmerman knew Daxton Lancaster cared deeply, after all, his uncle was the child’s father.

Not wanting Daxton to worry, Violet Zimmerman said, "He didn’t say anything."

"Was Joseph not angry?" Daxton Lancaster frowned slightly, Violet Zimmerman suppressed the panic in her heart, saying, "I don’t know."

She didn’t know how her husband Daxton Lancaster would react if he heard what Joseph had said to her at the time.

"Get some rest, I’ll go to F City in a few days when the roads are clear and bring your parents over to stay for a couple of days. It’s inconvenient for you now, so you don’t have to go back to celebrate the New Year with them this year."

"Okay." Hearing Daxton Lancaster’s plan, Violet Zimmerman felt warm in her heart, her husband was so considerate of her.

Victoria Thornton had been in the hospital for a day before Eva Hayes brought her home. Every day she instructed the kitchen to prepare delicious food and personally delivered it to her daughter-in-law. The meat bought for the New Year was almost entirely sent to the daughter-in-law’s room. What Joseph Lancaster couldn’t bear was that he had just bought a live fish in the morning, and by noon, when he went to the kitchen to give instructions on how to prepare it, that fish was already in Eva Hayes’ hands. Smelling the aroma coming from the kitchen, Joseph Lancaster asked with a smile, "Aunt Huang, is my fish done?"

Aunt Huang glanced secretly at Eva Hayes, "Second Young Master, the fish you bought is with Second Aunt right now."

When Joseph Lancaster heard that Eva Hayes was holding the grass carp he bought for his sister-in-law, he immediately turned red in the eyes.
