"Brother, now that the weather has warmed up and the snow has melted, the path in the yard is slippery. You must make sure the servants take good care of Sister-in-law."

Daxton Lancaster looked up again, turning his head towards his younger brother, and said with a half-smile, "Joseph, why do I feel that you seem to care more about your sister-in-law than Aurora does?"

Although Joseph Lancaster acted naturally, he was actually feeling a bit guilty.

He never intended to disrupt his brother and sister-in-law’s relationship, but he found himself becoming increasingly greedy.

He used to just want to stand on the sidelines and watch his brother and sister-in-law be happy, but as his sister-in-law’s belly grew larger, he couldn’t help but want to do something.

Like in the TV shows, where every night, he would stroke his wife’s belly and talk to their baby, then lean close to her belly to listen to the baby’s sounds...

He knew his thoughts were excessive, but he just couldn’t control them.

Moreover, he didn’t want to control them. His first child was due in a few months, and just imagining it felt like a joyful and miraculous thing.

Joseph Lancaster lowered his eyes, hiding his guilt well, and said with a smile.

"Actually Aurora and I care about Sister-in-law equally, but Aurora has been busy with her studies recently, while I’m idle, with nothing to do in the house alone, so I came over to chat with you and Sister-in-law."

Though Joseph Lancaster was strategic, given his age and the fact that he had been studying at school.

While Daxton Lancaster, who took up the Lancaster Family’s responsibilities and achieved success in business after graduating from high school, had a sharper and more flexible mind than ordinary people, even if Joseph thought he was hiding his intentions well, Daxton saw through them clearly.

Daxton let a slight smile curve his lips and chose not to continue the topic.

"Joseph, college graduation is coming up, what are your plans?"

Joseph Lancaster looked up, his expression serious.

"Brother, didn’t you promise to help me start a company before?"

"Have you thought about what project to run?"

Daxton asked casually, placing the newspaper aside.

"I’ve thought of a few projects."

Joseph said earnestly, perhaps due to good Lancaster family genes, the sons of the family had a knack for business from a young age.

"Tell me about them." Daxton crossed his arms and leaned back into the sofa, adjusting his crossed legs—an air of leisurely interest.

When it came to starting a company, Joseph’s face no longer bore a guilty expression; he had his own ideas.

"I’ve thought about starting a newspaper with classmates, maybe even a magazine, and once we accumulate more resources, we could open a steel factory."

Daxton frowned; he understood the newspaper and magazine idea—young people with some education liked to dabble in writing—but a steel factory?

"Why start a steel factory? Isn’t leather more profitable?"

"Brother, you just don’t understand." Joseph chuckled, as a knowledgeable young man, he saw a more long-term trend in future development than Daxton did.

"For a country to rapidly develop and catch up to advanced, developed nations, the first step is domestic infrastructure. Only by creating good infrastructure can we attract more foreign investors, and fundamental construction relies heavily on steel and cement. If conditions allow, I’d start a cement factory too..."

Discussing business, Joseph spoke with clarity that even experienced Daxton was surprised by, having no choice but to admire his brother’s far-sightedness, while he himself typically focused only on immediate gains.

Daxton immediately said candidly, "Alright, I’ll entrust a company to you now to manage, do a good job and I’ll give you another, and once you gain management experience, I’ll fund your factory."

"But I still have to attend school."

Joseph felt some difficulty.

"That’s simple, you don’t have classes every day, just visit the company when you’re free. As a manager, you don’t need to work, just assign tasks to different departments and have someone else manage them for you."

Hearing Daxton say this, Joseph already started getting excited, his eyes filled with anticipation.

"Brother, when should I start working?"

"Whenever you want, you can start tomorrow." Daxton said with a half-smile, setting aside other matters, he genuinely appreciated Joseph’s business acumen.

"Tomorrow won’t work, I have a full day of classes. The day after tomorrow, is the day after tomorrow okay? Brother, I have time then."

"It’s fine." Daxton said casually, "But you need to get your driver’s license immediately after graduating college."

"Why?" Joseph was puzzled, what was the connection between managing a company and getting a driver’s license?

"After becoming a manager, do you still want to ride your bicycle to the company every day?"

Daxton’s eyes gleamed with teasing, and imagining cycling to work made Joseph scratch his head embarrassingly, "It’s true, if I biked to the company I’d be laughed at.

But... brother, what good is getting a driver’s license? I don’t have money for a car."

Buying a car costs at least two hundred thousand or more, where could he get that much money!

Even though he had saved some for his soon-to-be-born baby, it wasn’t even enough to buy a car tire.

"After you graduate, brother will give you one."

"Really?" Joseph’s face lit up with joy, but soon turned to confusion, "But why?"

Cars were so expensive, why would brother want to gift him one?

The humor in Daxton’s eyes suddenly became layered with meaning, "Brother is busy with work, doesn’t have much time to accompany your sister-in-law, but you care for Violet more than I do, so"

He paused at this point, and looking at his brother Joseph, his eyes held an even deeper meaning, "as a token of appreciation, brother plans to gift you a car."

The joy on Joseph’s face slowly faded; he wasn’t an idiot, he could understand what brother was trying to imply.
