Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 1186 - 1187: Want to Go Public
"Okay, second brother." Zachary Morgan corrected himself.
Carter Lockwood softened his voice, "I have to rush back to cook, let’s talk next time."
The car window rolled up, and Zachary Morgan stood in place watching Carter go inside.
He didn’t feel there was anything wrong with Carter today, in fact, meeting Carter only fueled his determination.
Carter Lockwood carried groceries home, and Anna Morgan was already waiting for him, having changed clothes.
While waiting for Carter to return, she was studying her script.
As a beautiful big star, it’s inevitable for her to be labeled as just a pretty face.
Anna’s acting skills weren’t great when she first entered the industry, but with time, effort, and dedication, she improved significantly.
She is a girl full of superiority due to her high status, occasionally a bit willful, but she has a distinct personality and doesn’t abandon growth just because of her advantages.
Once she knows what she wants, she actively strives for it.
Just like how she used to pursue Sean Lockwood.
When she couldn’t get him, she would let go decisively, without procrastination.
Carter Lockwood opened the door and entered, hearing Anna reading lines; her voice sounded lovely, her enunciation clear, and she controlled her pacing just right.
She was so focused that she didn’t hear Carter standing behind her.
According to the script’s design, she needed to make a turning motion.
Her body slowly turned, and upon seeing Carter behind her, she immediately snapped from the script back to reality.
"Honey!"
She dashed over, wrapping her arms around Carter’s neck.
"Mm!"
Carter responded softly as Anna kissed his cheek.
"The food outside isn’t tasty at all, nothing compares to your cooking."
"Hm?" Carter was slightly taken aback. Anna had met Eldest Master Monroe during lunchtime; they must have eaten out together.
He had planned to whip up something casual upon returning, but hearing Anna say she hadn’t eaten, his heart ached.
"I’ll cook."
Anna let go of Carter and followed him into the kitchen, "I’ll help you out."
Doing things in the kitchen was forbidden for Anna at the Morgan Family.
Mrs. Monroe said a girl’s hands are precious.
Mr. Monroe said, for a girl, marrying well is important.
Now that she’s married well, she enjoys being in the kitchen, cooking dinner with the person she loves every day after work has become the best part of the day.
Because Anna was hungry, Carter swiftly prepared three dishes.
The two sat together, and Anna eagerly tasted the food he made.
When eating out with Eldest Master Monroe earlier, she had longed for his cooking.
"I ran into your brother when I was coming back."
Carter mentioned.
"Hm?" Anna pondered, "Why is he still here?"
She had been inside for half an hour, and Zachary Morgan was still waiting at the door.
"Honey."
Thinking of the reason Zachary acted that way, Anna softened her voice while looking at Carter, "I talked to my mom, and he said he got married."
As Anna spoke, she observed Carter’s expression.
Unfortunately, Carter’s face was as unchanging as ever, showing no emotions.
"They’re eager to know who my husband is?"
Anna probed further.
She really wanted to tell them, tell the whole world, that her husband is Carter Lockwood.
However, Carter agreed to keep their marriage secret; she felt he didn’t want to reveal their relationship.
Saying Carter was playing with her feelings was impossible.
Carter was deep and inscrutable, but Anna didn’t need to understand him deeply; she saw herself entirely in those cold eyes of his at a glance.
"Carter!"
"Can we tell?"
