Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure

Chapter 1187 - 1188: A Diligent "Act

After Anna Morgan asked the question, Carter Lockwood was stunned for a moment and didn’t answer.

His silence made Anna even more puzzled, with a touch of annoyance.

"Do you not, not want to go public with me?"

Anna put down her chopsticks and stared at Carter, asking softly.

"If word gets out about us, it might affect your future."

Carter lowered his head, not daring to meet Anna’s gaze, replied lightly.

Previously, when Carter said this, Anna fully believed it.

Living without a romantic life makes it easy to form CPs for hype in the industry. Often, when promoting a drama externally, they need to hype the male and female leads. If news of her marriage got out, they couldn’t hype the CP, and it could easily affect her fanbase.

Many celebrities in the industry, if they follow the idol route, are unwilling to go public with a partner.

"What if I said, I’m not afraid of that!"

Anna continued.

"Making this relationship public, how people view it is their business, as long as I like it."

Her life had always been lived freely, not liking to be bound.

"As long as I like it," the last half sentence made Carter’s heart skip a beat, and he raised his head to stare blankly at the girl he had long cherished. Facing her proposal and confession, he wanted to accept.

He married Anna through deceit, not to be a couple that couldn’t see the light of day.

Only, now wasn’t the time.

"Anna!"

Carter called out.

Anna got up and sat beside Carter, "Carter, there’s nothing wrong with us being known to others."

"Hmm."

Carter agreed.

"Anna, what if you found out I lied to you about something?"

"Would you be mad at me?"

"What thing?" Anna asked with a smile.

She didn’t think Carter had the guts to lie to her; this man cherished her immensely.

"You didn’t like me that much before."

Looking at Anna snuggling into his arms, Carter’s voice softened.

The more one treasures something, the more they fear losing it.

In his lifetime, Carter never missed having anything or, one might say, he was extremely good at controlling his desires, never letting anything easily capture his attention.

He had always hidden his feelings after falling for Anna.

Until Anna’s car accident, he couldn’t control his possessiveness any longer.

He thought, he wanted this for a lifetime!

However, if he went public with Anna now, and she recalled their unpleasant past, remembered how she didn’t love him, what would happen!

Carter had never put himself in such a dilemma before.

Once people have something they can’t let go of, they are no longer that reckless.

"Haha!"

Anna laughed out loud after hearing Carter say she didn’t like him before, "Surely you didn’t know how to court me in the beginning!"

"I’m really curious about how you managed to win me over?"

Carter’s body stiffened, afraid Anna would ask him to recount how he pursued her!

"However, I can’t recall anything from before and am not that eager to find out."

Anna was open-minded; she raised her head, looking at Carter with bright eyes, "I only know I’ll be with you from now on."

"Carter, I really like you."

Anna’s confession was direct and sudden, leaving Carter stunned, without giving her a chance to speak again, he bent down and kissed Anna’s lips fiercely and rapidly.

Together, Anna would occasionally tease Carter; she was the proactive one.
