Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 1189 - 1190:
Miles Morgan’s faction originally belonged to the third branch of the Morgan Family, which didn’t have the right to inherit control over The Morgan Corporation.
It was thanks to the support from Mrs. Monroe’s family, coupled with Miles Morgan’s own capabilities, and the incompetence of the main branch of the Morgan Family, that the control of The Morgan Corporation fell into his hands.
Over the years, Miles Morgan securely held the position of the Morgan family’s head. With Mr. Morgan passed, Old Mrs. Monroe’s status rose along with her son’s, making her very satisfied with Mrs. Monroe as her daughter-in-law.
Old Mrs. Monroe, who lived outside, came over concerning matters regarding Miles Morgan and Mrs. Monroe.
Supported by Miles Morgan, she came out and regarded Ivy Preston and Riley Preston with an unkindly cold expression.
"Mom, this is Ivy."
Miles Morgan introduced to Old Mrs. Monroe.
Old Mrs. Monroe looked at Ivy Preston coldly without speaking.
Hearing the introduction, Ivy Preston didn’t fawn forward with joy; she slightly smiled, placing a hand gently on her abdomen as she spoke.
No matter what Old Mrs. Monroe thought in her heart...
Ivy Preston was certain of one thing: Old Mrs. Monroe was definitely anticipating the child in her womb.
"Hello, Old Mrs. Monroe."
Riley Preston also greeted.
Old Mrs. Monroe, following Ivy Preston’s gesture, focused her eyes on her belly, "How many months?"
Just as Ivy expected, Old Mrs. Monroe didn’t like her, but she wouldn’t dislike the child in her belly.
"Almost three months."
"Oh!"
"Good, not too big," Old Mrs. Monroe said slowly, continuing to walk forward.
Both Miles Morgan and Ivy Preston were bewildered by the words "not too big."
"Quickly arrange for a doctor to perform the operation."
Old Mrs. Monroe instructed Miles Morgan while walking.
At the back, Ivy Preston’s smiling face turned deathly pale upon hearing Old Mrs. Monroe’s words.
Did Old Mrs. Monroe not want the child in her womb?
"Mom!"
Miles Morgan, following Old Mrs. Monroe out, voiced displeasure, "The child is already this big; harming Ivy’s health by getting rid of it is not sensible."
"Miles." Old Mrs. Monroe’s voice rose, "Ingratitude doesn’t go unpunished!"
"Using pregnancy as leverage to enter the Morgan family is something I won’t allow."
Old Mrs. Monroe spoke firmly, her tone icy cold.
Miles Morgan was a dutiful son, but not blindly so.
For years, he focused on work, with Mrs. Monroe handling all matters at home; Old Mrs. Monroe had a decent relationship with Mrs. Monroe.
Miles Morgan didn’t believe Old Mrs. Monroe would side with Mrs. Monroe, considering he was her own son.
"Mom, about divorce, I don’t want to, it’s just that Thorne Thorne and they..."
As Miles Morgan’s voice faded, Ivy Preston stood in place, tears rolling down.
She felt wronged.
Being pregnant with Miles Morgan’s child, yet she couldn’t receive family approval.
"Sis." Riley Preston felt heartbroken seeing Ivy Preston cry; though wanting to help, she knew the old lady was Miles Morgan’s mother—and being tolerantly mindful was wise.
Ivy Preston didn’t cry for long; with Miles Morgan not by her side, crying was pointless.
She wouldn’t believe the old lady would force her to abort her grandchild!
"Yara."
Ivy Preston called in a calm voice.
"What’s wrong, sister?"
Riley Preston looked at Ivy Preston, puzzled, with no tears in her gaze.
"I’ll help you pursue that man."
This man had some relation to Anna Morgan; if Riley got involved with him, it would certainly infuriate Anna Morgan.
If Anna Morgan and Mrs. Monroe made things difficult for her, she wouldn’t let them have an easy time either.
