Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 1197 - 1198: In a Relationship
The birthday banquet began, and members of The Lockwood Family gradually presented the gifts they brought, while guests with close relations handed their birthday gifts directly to the elderly couple.
Old Master Lockwood and Old Mrs. Lockwood sat in their seats, smiling at the younger generation offering gifts.
This birthday banquet, they invited many people, even included Renee Grant, but notably left out Felix Lockwood.
Felix was expelled from The Lockwood Family, and for a long time, no one dared to mention him in front of them. However, recently, they had obviously become much kinder to Sean Lockwood.
Carter Lockwood arrived not long after; he came quite early, which surprised Old Mrs. Lockwood.
Carter was very busy and inherently disliked crowds.
Of course, he was certain to attend the birthday banquet of Old Master and Old Mrs. Lockwood.
Considering the times he showed up for his own banquets, Old Mrs. Lockwood thought he would be about ten minutes late.
Arriving early, his gaze searched the crowd. After spotting someone, he stepped towards the elderly couple.
His unusual behavior went unnoticed by others, but Old Mrs. Lockwood saw it clearly.
Carter approached and presented his gift.
Old Mrs. Lockwood smiled and spoke with Carter. At this moment, many people brought their daughters or nieces forward to chat with Old Mrs. Lockwood.
One after another, intentionally pushing their daughters forward, Carter understood their intentions very well.
The birthday banquet was organized for Old Mrs. Lockwood and also aimed at him.
Originally, Carter wanted to bring Anna Morgan along, but when he went back to pick her up, Anna had already arrived first.
"Carter, everyone is chatting with you, don’t be absent-minded,"
Old Mrs. Lockwood, seeing Carter with a stiff face, said discontentedly.
With such an icy face, how would he ever get married on his own?
If he doesn’t get married, The Lockwood Family’s members would be few. The eldest son, Felix, has impure intentions, is gloomy and selfish; grandson Sean is simple, but too useless.
The Lockwood Family’s future hopes are still entirely placed on Carter.
Carter’s marriage suddenly seemed very important.
Old Mrs. Lockwood, who previously didn’t much care about Carter’s affairs, was now eager to find him a match.
She thought of someone and turned her head to look at the crowd, thinking of asking Mrs. Monroe to bring Anna Morgan over for Carter to see.
Anna was very familiar with everyone in The Lockwood Family. Though there’s some age difference between the two, one is warm, the other is cool, making quite a good match.
Old Mrs. Lockwood searched for a long time among the crowd but didn’t see Anna, just saw Mrs. Monroe chatting with other ladies.
"Mom, I’m going to my room to change clothes,"
While Old Mrs. Lockwood was unsuccessfully looking for Anna, Carter received a text message and said to the old lady.
"Hmph!"
Old Mrs. Lockwood reluctantly let Carter go, "Giving you ten minutes to change clothes."
"If you’re not back in ten minutes, I’ll send someone to get you."
"I won’t leave!"
Carter uncharacteristically replied directly and confidently.
Having said this, Old Mrs. Lockwood looked at the departing person with full of doubt.
"Your son seems a bit off,"
Old Mrs. Lockwood softly said to Old Master Lockwood.
At which of The Lockwood Family’s banquets did Carter not run away?
This time, he surprisingly said he would definitely come back.
"He’s probably in love,"
Old Master Lockwood replied casually with a softened voice.
"Hmm?"
Old Mrs. Lockwood paused in surprise, could it be that Carter came back early and didn’t leave because there was someone he cared about at the banquet?
Who could that be?
It was because Carter received Anna Morgan’s text message that he went out to find her.
She saw him immediately upon his arrival.
As Carter headed towards Old Mrs. Lockwood, Anna Morgan quietly slipped out.
