Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 1202 - 1195: Afraid
The Lockwood Family is hosting a grand banquet today, so the security must be tight.
This place may not have many visitors, but being by the lake, it’s equipped with plenty of surveillance.
Ivy Preston and Riley Preston, upon seeing Julian Ford appear, were just focused on dealing with him, forgetting about the surveillance.
Now, hearing Anna Morgan mention "surveillance," Ivy’s expression immediately changed.
"It’s just a small matter, no need to check the surveillance."
Ivy said in a panic.
Her response caught Miles Morgan’s attention.
"There is!" Carter Lockwood echoed Anna’s words, replying.
"Miles."
Hearing Carter assertively say "there is," Ivy became even more flustered. Without giving Carter a chance to show the surveillance, she blacked out and softly collapsed onto Miles.
"Miles, my head suddenly feels so dizzy, my stomach suddenly hurts so much."
Miles supported the unsteady Ivy, guessing what really happened.
Ivy is, after all, the woman he brought along; her embarrassment would equate to his own.
"Carter, Ivy’s not feeling well, take her back to rest first."
Carter, watching Ivy turn to leave, softened his voice, "Not going to say sorry?"
His words made Ivy unable to walk forward.
"Sorry!"
She turned back and casually said.
"My head is really hurting badly, let’s just put today behind us."
Ivy’s "sorry" was quite perfunctory; she didn’t think there was anything wrong with slandering Anna Morgan.
"If you don’t want to apologize, I’ll take the surveillance footage to the main hall."
"Miss Preston can go rest."
Usually quiet and not prone to getting involved, Carter suddenly targeted Ivy.
Miles couldn’t help but give him a couple more glances.
"No, no."
Ivy hastily said.
She feigned a headache just to prevent the surveillance from being seen by others.
If seen, it would harm both Yara and herself.
"Anna."
Ivy had no choice but to become serious; she looked at Anna Morgan and softened her voice, "I’m sorry, it was my fault, I shouldn’t have slandered you casually."
"Yara fell on her own, by the time you arrived Miles had already rescued her."
"Sorry!"
Ivy’s words immediately attracted the attention of others.
When they arrived, they heard Ivy accuse Anna Morgan of standing by watching without helping, and thought Anna Morgan was resentful because the woman was with Miles Morgan, which was why she didn’t save Ivy’s sister.
Now, how amusing, it turned out it was Miles Morgan’s woman who deliberately wronged Anna Morgan.
Then seeing her desperately blocking Carter from checking the surveillance.
There’s probably an issue here too.
It’s quite likely that Riley Preston jumped in herself.
After apologizing, hearing the surrounding sounds of discussion, Ivy looked up to see Miles with a strained expression, looking displeased. She quickly found an excuse and turned to leave.
Originally, they were thinking they finally encountered Julian Ford, hoping to leave a deep impression on him with a girl, and decided to make a sacrifice by having Riley fall into the water.
If Julian Ford jumped in to save her, it would definitely cause a sensation.
A girl like Riley being pulled out of the water by Julian Ford, both of them soaking wet, seemed quite suggestive to outsiders.
Afterwards, Riley could use the excuse of being saved to thank Julian Ford.
With enough back and forth, Julian Ford wouldn’t be able to forget Yara.
The whole plan Ivy thought was perfect, save for one thing: she didn’t know Julian Ford was cold-hearted, unmoved by Riley being in the water, just walking away as if nothing happened.
Ivy regretted using such a stupid plan to help Riley Preston, but it was useless now.
