Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure

Chapter 1201 - 1194: There’s Surveillance

  • Next Chapter

Julian Ford’s response stunned Ivy Preston!

Even if a man doesn’t like a stranger girl, when she falls into the lake, he wouldn’t just stand by indifferently.

But Julian Ford watched Riley Preston scream for help in the lake, looking indifferent, with no intention of saving her. Even when Ivy Preston asked him to, he wasn’t moved.

This made Ivy realize that even if Riley Preston drowned in front of him, he would truly not save her.

Seemingly gentle, but actually cold and heartless.

"Sister, save me." Riley Preston, floundering in the lake, heard a distorted version of their conversation on the shore and, seeing Julian Ford walking away, could only muster all her strength to plead with Ivy Preston for help.

Ivy watched as Julian Ford really walked away and saw Riley Preston barely hanging on in the lake, wanting to jump in to save her, but remembered she was pregnant at the lake’s edge.

If she lost the child in her belly while saving Riley Preston, it really wouldn’t be worth it.

Ivy didn’t want to; she stepped back a few paces, watching Riley Preston’s head sink below the water.

"Help, somebody come help!" Ivy was scared. Her original plan completely changed because of Julian Ford’s ruthlessness, leaving her to watch Riley Preston drown in the lake.

Just when Ivy was afraid and helpless, someone arrived just in time.

Miles Morgan, who came looking for Ivy, heard her voice and, thinking something happened to her, quickly rushed over.

When he arrived, he saw Riley Preston sinking in the lake and, without asking Ivy, took off his shoes and jumped in.

Anna Morgan originally wanted to save Riley Preston. She had a past conflict with Riley Preston and couldn’t possibly sit back and watch her drown.

When she ran out and hadn’t yet reached the lake, Miles Morgan jumped in first.

Miles swiftly rescued Riley Preston, and by then, the Lockwood Family’s servants had gathered.

Riley Preston falling into the lake had alarmed people at the banquet hall, and some came to see.

"Yara." Seeing that Riley Preston was okay, Ivy breathed a sigh of relief.

Riley Preston was fortunate to be rescued in time. Apart from swallowing a few gulps of lake water, she was not seriously hurt. She heard Ivy’s question but did not respond.

"Let’s take Yara home first."

Miles supported Riley Preston to stand up. He had matters to tend to today and couldn’t leave immediately, so he asked the Lockwood Family to send Riley Preston back to the Morgan Family first.

Ivy didn’t follow. She noticed Anna Morgan here but didn’t see Carter Lockwood beside her.

"Anna, why did you stand by and do nothing?"

Ivy felt wronged and scared; just moments ago, Yara might have truly lost her life in the lake.

Her words caught Miles’ and other guests’ attention.

Miles followed Ivy’s words, unhappily looking at Anna Morgan.

"Your hatred should be directed at me. It’s my fault, but Yara is innocent."

This interrogation made Anna Morgan furrow her brow tightly, and Miles’ expression darkened.

"Anna, no matter what, you can’t just watch someone fall into the lake. This isn’t right." Miles was angry in front of outsiders but was reluctant to scold Anna Morgan.

"I didn’t push her, and besides, why should I interrupt someone’s act?"

Anna Morgan sneered.

Why did Riley Preston fall into the lake?

She jumped in herself, right?

"What act? Anna, Yara falling into the lake is already pitiful enough, how can you still malign her here!"

Ivy said angrily.

"If it wasn’t an act, how did she fall? Did you push her?"

Anna Morgan said as she turned to look at Carter Lockwood behind her, "Mr. Lockwood, does your place have surveillance?"
