Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 1207: Decision to Come Clean
Carter, this person has such deep thoughts and is the ruler of the Lockwood Family. If he’s truly with Anna, she can’t help but worry for Anna.
Once in the room, Mrs. Monroe doesn’t let Anna leave.
The mother and daughter sit together for a chat, “Anna, today is Old Mrs. Lockwood’s birthday banquet, essentially a matchmaking event.”
“Oh,” Anna Morgan said indifferently.
Ever since Old Mrs. Lockwood sent her the invitation, she knew.
“Mom, you already knew this.”
“Helping Carter pick a wife, right?”
Anna Morgan chuckled, but alas, Carter’s wife is her.
“What do you think of Carter as a person?” Mrs. Monroe stared at Anna Morgan, asking.
“What do you mean by ‘think’?”
Anna Morgan pretended not to understand at first, but seeing Mrs. Monroe so serious, she thought about it and decided to answer.
“He’s too serious.”
“Hmm.”
Mrs. Monroe nodded. Carter was strictly raised by Old Master Lockwood and others from a young age, never showing his emotions. Dealing with such a person is frightening.
“But he is also very good-looking.”
Anna Morgan added another sentence.
To her, Carter’s seriousness isn’t an issue.
To her, Carter is the most gentle.
“Mom, are you asking me about Carter because you don’t want us to be together?”
Anna Morgan asked Mrs. Monroe in response.
Step by step, she revealed her feelings to Mrs. Monroe.
“It’s not what I want,” Mrs. Monroe replied, “it’s Old Mrs. Lockwood.”
“From the banquet today, it seems they want you to marry Carter.”
“Ah!”
As she spoke, Mrs. Monroe sighed deeply.
The way she seemed, it looked like she didn’t want Anna Morgan to marry Carter.
Anna Morgan grew worried and probed, “Mom, wouldn’t it be okay if I marry Carter?”
“Dad is divorcing you, and I would become Mrs. Lockwood, providing support for you and my brother.”
“Also, no one would dare to bully me in the future.”
Anna Morgan spoke sentence after sentence logically, and Mrs. Monroe nodded, “That’s how it is.”
“But, you have always been afraid of Carter.”
The previous Anna Morgan acted like a mouse in front of Carter, extremely scared.
If she truly married Carter, would Anna be happy?
“Carter’s thoughts are too unpredictable. What his intentions toward you are, we don’t know.”
“If Old Mrs. Lockwood and Old Master Lockwood act on their own, and you marry him, I’m afraid you’ll suffer.”
If Carter has someone in his heart and is forced to marry Anna Morgan, Anna might only endure hardship after marriage.
Anna Morgan listened to Mrs. Monroe’s words, knowing what Mrs. Monroe was worried about.
“Mom, he won’t let me suffer.”
She spoke softly, clearly telling Mrs. Monroe.
“Hmm?”
Mrs. Monroe furrowed her brows, looking at Anna Morgan.
“Dad just told me your relationship with Carter is not ordinary.”
When Miles Morgan said this, Mrs. Monroe initially didn’t believe it.
Thinking Miles was deliberately picking faults.
Coupled with Old Mrs. Lockwood’s attitude, she was worried Carter was with Anna because of the elders.
After chatting so much with Anna, she became puzzled again.
“Anna, what exactly is your relationship with Carter!”
“Be honest with me.”
With a firm tone, Mrs. Monroe asked.
Anna Morgan looked at Mrs. Monroe, not knowing what to say!
She thought of Carter still waiting downstairs for her to return, took out her phone, and said to Mrs. Monroe, “Mom, let me make a call first.”
After the call was connected, Anna Morgan said to Carter on the other end, “Come upstairs, to my mom’s room.”
Mrs. Monroe listened to Anna Morgan’s call, not understanding her relationship with Carter or who she was calling.
