Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 1206 - 1199: No Regret Pills
Old Mrs. Lockwood sneered, "Zoe, you’re not young anymore. Stop crying at the drop of a hat. If people see, they might think this old lady is bullying you."
"Sean."
After speaking to Zoe Quinn, Old Mrs. Lockwood called out to Sean Lockwood, who seemed lost in thought.
"You should head back home early."
"Grandma, Sean and I didn’t bring a car."
Zoe Quinn quickly replied.
She had spent a lot of money on a birthday gift for Old Mrs. Lockwood, trying to please her to get permission to stay at the Lockwood family residence.
With just one sentence, Old Mrs. Lockwood brushed aside Zoe’s unspoken request, leaving Zoe feeling unwilling. She glared angrily at Sean Lockwood.
Sean Lockwood seemed oblivious to Zoe’s glare. Complying with Old Mrs. Lockwood’s words, he answered, "Okay!"
Then, Sean Lockwood started to walk forward, and Zoe Quinn furiously stomped her foot.
"Sean!"
She called out, and Sean Lockwood actually stopped.
"Grandma."
Seeing Sean willingly stopping Old Mrs. Lockwood, Zoe thought he was going to discuss the matter of staying overnight at the Lockwood family. Just as she was about to smile with joy, she heard Sean ask the old lady.
"Do you approve of Uncle and Anna being together?"
Old Mrs. Lockwood was momentarily stunned. She found Sean Lockwood’s question a bit strange.
She was pleased with Anna Morgan as a daughter-in-law, but since Carter Lockwood hadn’t agreed yet, the matter was far from settled. Why was Sean asking her directly, bypassing Carter?
"Hmm!"
Old Mrs. Lockwood nodded. Since Sean asked, she spoke her mind, "Anna is a good girl. I have always liked her."
"Sean, the road you choose is yours alone, but once you regret it, don’t think about turning back."
Old Mrs. Lockwood glanced meaningfully at Zoe Quinn beside Sean as she spoke.
There’s no turning back in life; even if Sean desired it, it wouldn’t be possible.
"I understand." Hearing Old Mrs. Lockwood’s response, Sean knew the Lockwood family had decided to welcome Anna Morgan.
Anna Morgan was destined to be his aunt.
This realization left Sean with mixed feelings, only bitterness and a sourness in his heart.
"Sean!"
As Sean Lockwood hurriedly left the Lockwood residence, Zoe Quinn quickly caught up with him, "Sean Lockwood, why are you walking so fast!"
Her heart was filled with resentment as Old Mrs. Lockwood had refused to let her stay overnight.
She had called Sean’s name so many times, yet he ignored her completely, making her even angrier.
"Sean Lockwood, stop right there!"
This whole Lockwood family had gotten on her nerves.
She regretted marrying Sean Lockwood, this useless fool.
Even though the Lockwood family wealth was partly his, he was so afraid of Carter that he wouldn’t dare to seize it.
Sean Lockwood heard Zoe Quinn’s shout from behind.
Her once gentle voice now felt especially piercing to him.
Time reveals true character; Sean Lockwood realized the truth too late.
He regretted it too, but unfortunately, there’s no medicine for regret.
Carter Lockwood drove Mrs. Monroe and Eldest Master Monroe back to the hotel. During the journey, the one who talked the most was Eldest Master Monroe, of course.
Being driven personally by an idol, how could Eldest Master Monroe not be thrilled!
The more he talked with Carter, the happier he got, to the point where he didn’t want to get out when they reached the hotel.
Mrs. Monroe’s heart wasn’t as light though, as Miles Morgan specially talked with her about Anna at the banquet.
He asked if Anna was with Carter Lockwood.
Carter Lockwood?
Mrs. Monroe had never thought of it this way before.
Previously, when Anna played well with Sean Lockwood, she thought it was only natural for Anna to marry into the Lockwood family eventually.
Later, when Sean Lockwood married Zoe Quinn, she just hoped her daughter would find someone who truly loved her.
