Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!
Chapter 659: The Terrifying Truth
In the past, ancient people liked to tease husbands who drew their wives’ eyebrows as henpecked, but looking at Adrian Law at this moment helping to cover her red mark, Cecilia Vaughn inexplicably thought of the matter of drawing eyebrows.
She had a faint smile in her eyes as she picked up an eyebrow pencil from the desk.
"Adrian, didn’t you always pride yourself on learning everything quickly? Why don’t you try grooming my eyebrows?"
In fact, Cecilia Vaughn rarely wore makeup; her eyebrows were naturally refined willow-leaf eyebrows, curved like a painting, not too thick or too thin, like a classical beauty walking out of a scroll, so Cecilia rarely drew her eyebrows. Her words now were just to make things difficult for Adrian.
There’s no way around it, Adrian always seems so confident in everything he does. Sometimes Cecilia really wants to know if Adrian, a seemingly perfect person, has any flaws at all.
Of course, nobody’s perfect, there must be some flaws. However, when viewed through her lens of affection for her husband, Cecilia seemed unable to see Adrian’s flaws.
...
"I don’t know how to draw eyebrows... Cecilia, if you don’t mind me turning your eyebrows into caterpillars, you might want to consider it."
The man had a faint smile on his lips, as he tentatively picked up the eyebrow pencil, about to apply it to Cecilia Vaughn’s beautiful brow shape.
"No!"
Cecilia imagined that scene. Although she was curious about how bad Adrian could be at something he wasn’t good at, at the very least, she couldn’t use her face as a joke.
Previously, Cecilia had seen videos from beauty and makeup bloggers on places like Weibo, where straight men did makeup for girls.
They’re all terribly disastrous, one worse than the other.
Even though Adrian’s aesthetics are on point, Cecilia didn’t think a complete novice could have a good grip on makeup.
To say something a bit incorrect, Cecilia actually felt that the men she had seen who were good at makeup and grooming generally were also into guys, cough cough...
...
Seeing Cecilia stare intently at the eyebrow pencil but still righteously refusing, Adrian couldn’t help but feel amused.
"Cecilia, if you were a bit braver, I could give you a new suggestion."
"What suggestion? You wouldn’t want to treat my face as a palette, would you?"
Cecilia gave Adrian a wary look, not knowing when Adrian had someone clean this place, but the makeup supplies here were all fully stocked.
But everything was unopened. At first glance, Cecilia even saw a new Chanel lipstick launched last month, so unlike the last time at Sage’s Mercy Temple, she wasn’t suddenly suspicious of Adrian having lived a life of hidden romance here.
...
"No, it’s not that."
Adrian gently shook his head.
He picked up a razor placed beside the sculpting tools, very thin and slim, but evidently usable.
"I’ve never groomed anyone’s eyebrows, nor drawn them, but I think I could try giving you a slight shape adjustment."
Cecilia glanced at herself in the mirror.
Indeed, her natural willow-leaf eyebrows were well-shaped, but Cecilia hadn’t trimmed them in a long time, so the edges weren’t very defined, and some parts were slightly messy.
It wasn’t noticeable unless you looked closely.
But with Adrian pointing it out, Cecilia naturally became a bit conscious.
She glanced at Adrian skeptically.
"You won’t turn me into an eyebrow-less warrior, will you?"
"No..."
Adrian propped his chin with one hand, a hint of teasing light flashed in his handsome, long and narrow phoenix eyes.
"If something unfortunate like that really happened, you could shave off my eyebrows too, and we’d become the no-eyebrow duo together."
"..."
As Adrian described this scenario, an image flashed in Cecilia’s mind of the two of them really going out eyebrow-less.
Ugh...
That’s too chilling.
Generally speaking, no matter how high someone’s attractiveness is, lacking eyebrows would knock off half the points.
...
Cecilia simply couldn’t accept it.
She warily tugged on Adrian’s sleeve, hesitated for a long while, and finally, with a doubtful mind, decided to be the guinea pig.
"Alright, but if I’m not satisfied, you must stop."
"Alright."
...
When the man said he’d do it, Cecilia went for it and closed her eyes, although she told Adrian to follow her instructions, she figured that within just ten seconds or so, even if Adrian shaved, it wouldn’t completely be gone, right?
If anywhere had a gaping mistake, she could just fill it in with eyebrow powder, sigh, curiosity killed the cat, this might just be the price of love.
...
Cecilia thought to herself, while Adrian’s movements were light and gentle. The man pressed down Cecilia’s sideburns, gently moving the extra hair to the other side, avoiding interference with his task.
In about half a minute, Adrian finished grooming Cecilia Vaughn’s left eyebrow.
Actually, Cecilia already had delicate eyebrow shapes, and Adrian had a certain artistic foundation. He used to enjoy sculpting quite a bit and spent half a year learning, so in terms of manual skills, he wasn’t completely in the dark.
"See if it’s okay?"
With a nervous heart, Cecilia cautiously opened her eyes, dreading that she’d see a face in the mirror with half an eyebrow missing.
But astonishingly, there was no imagined gap or flaw. Adrian’s grooming of her left brow gave it a smoother curve, not overly sharp, not overly rough.
It made Cecilia’s eyebrow outline more defined.
The right brow, which initially seemed pleasing, suddenly seemed less appealing in comparison.
"Adrian, I’ve decided, I won’t ask you to draw eyebrows for the rest of my life; just let you groom my eyebrows forever."
"..."
Adrian couldn’t help but laugh.
"I only follow the natural shape of your eyebrows when grooming; it’s quite basic really. Have you ever thought of trying a different eyebrow shape?"
Such things should be left to professional makeup artists to fuss over.
Adrian always believed in knowing one’s limits, so he never exaggerated his skills.
"Nah, it’s too troublesome."
Cecilia stuck out her tongue.
"Besides, if I have to attend any event, there would be professionals for that. Usually, I’m too lazy to fuss over it."
"..."
"Alright, whatever makes you happy."
The man affectionately smiled, coaxing Cecilia to obediently close her eyes again, grooming the right eyebrow into symmetry with the left, making them better matched.
...
After the two of them enjoyed some time together, they tidied up and went to the local police station.
To Cecilia’s surprise, the moment they arrived, they were hit with a bombshell.
"Madam, Sir, the minerals from the ferry last time have been extracted. If I recall correctly, Miss Vaughn’s university in Veridia, Stellerton University, had previously purchased this type of mineral for experimental purposes."
