My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively
Chapter 840: The Taste Is a Bit Strange
She hesitated, fearing that he might change his mind and she’d have to go back to eat nutritious meals, so she quickly shut her mouth and behaved.
…
After a long time.
The driver stopped the car in front of a rather inconspicuous Chinese restaurant.
Summer Shawcross sat in the car, looking at the Chinese restaurant outside, her face showing a hint of surprise.
This restaurant was the very one where she had previously brought food for Noah Drexler, the place her brother often brought her to when she was young.
While she was staring at the restaurant in a daze, Noah Drexler had already gotten out of the car and walked over to her side, helping her open the car door.
Summer snapped back to reality and hurriedly got out of the car.
“Why did we come here?” She took a look at the restaurant and couldn’t help but ask Noah Drexler.
“Don’t you like eating here?” He lowered his gaze, took a glance at her, then asked in return.
Hearing this, Summer felt a bit happy, surprised that he had always remembered her preferences.
Once he finished speaking, he held her hand again and led her inside.
…
The two of them entered the restaurant, and due to Summer’s identity, they chose a small private room.
Summer happily ordered several dishes, but after Noah Drexler glanced over them, he directly filtered out most of the heavier-tasting foods, leaving only a few lighter options.
Seeing this, Summer didn’t say much. After all, the fact that he was kind enough to bring her out for a meal was already thoughtful.
Otherwise, if he had taken her back home, she would surely be lectured by the butler and forced to eat those meals.
Summer didn’t wait long before the restaurant began serving the dishes.
The first dish served was her favorite, braised ribs.
As soon as the waiter placed the dish down, Summer eagerly picked up her chopsticks, quickly grabbed a piece of rib, and bit into it.
But somehow, the taste she used to love now seemed a bit odd once it was in her mouth.
She frowned, chewed a couple of times, and couldn’t help but spit the rib out.
Seeing her with such a disgusted expression, Noah Drexler beside her couldn’t help but furrow his brow and asked her.
“Does it not taste good?”
Wasn’t this her favorite dish here?
“The taste is a bit strange,” Summer said, picking up the glass of water next to her and taking a sip.
Strange taste?
Upon hearing her words, Noah Drexler first showed a hint of confusion on his face, then extended his chopsticks, grabbed a piece of rib, and put it into his mouth.
Unlike her earlier reaction, Noah Drexler’s face showed no expression.
“Does it have a bit of a fishy taste?” Summer couldn’t help but ask him.
“No.” Noah Drexler pursed his thin lips and replied.
He didn’t taste any fishy flavor in the dish!
“No?” Upon hearing this, it was now Summer’s turn to look puzzled.
Thinking, she stretched out her chopsticks toward the steamed fish, picked a small piece of fish, but before the fish was in her mouth, a strong fishy smell made her facial expression change, and she tossed the piece onto the small plate meant for bones.
“Why have the flavors of the dishes changed so much?” Summer pouted and couldn’t help but comment.
Previously, the food here was delicious; meat dishes didn’t have any fishy taste. Now, for some reason, the flavors have become so strange.
Could it be a different chef?
