Chapter 852: Chapter 849: Mr. Long, Congratulations, You’re Going to Be a Father (Super Long Chapter)

The lady seems to have a deep obsession with hotpot.

After hearing Katherine’s words, Summer Shawcross’s expression suddenly changed, showing a hint of displeasure.

“I’m not afraid of him at all.” She bit her lip and couldn’t help but defend herself.

She’s not afraid of that man, though being scrutinized by his stern gaze every day for the past two months did make her somewhat annoyed.

She feels he always treats her like a little child.

“Okay, okay, you aren’t afraid of the boss, the boss is afraid of you, alright?” Seeing Summer’s displeasure, Katherine quickly tried to appease her.

Mind you, Summer used to be the pampered one in The Hillside Villa, and now that she’s pregnant, she’s even more of a priority — no one dares to provoke her!

Upon hearing Katherine say that, Summer’s face finally showed some satisfaction, then she turned around and got into the car.

Katherine was driving, taking her back to The Hillside Villa.

But midway, the snow started falling more heavily, and the car’s speed inevitably slowed down.

Summer leaned against the car window, gazing at the snow-covered city, her heart suddenly felt indescribably wonderful.

Just as she was lost in the scenery outside, a shivering little figure by the roadside caught her attention.

When she discerned what the little figure was, Summer was taken aback and hurriedly spoke to Katherine.

“Katherine, stop the car!”

Upon hearing her, Katherine slowly pulled the car over to the roadside and then turned to ask Summer in the back seat.

“What’s the matter?”

Summer didn’t have time to answer. She suddenly put the hood of her down jacket over her head, pushed open the car door, and got out.

As she was about to walk toward the shivering little creature, a slim long-haired girl got out of a white sedan ahead and came to the roadside, gently picking up the little creature, which had curled up due to injury.

It was a little yellow-brown puppy.

“Oh dear, how did you get hurt?” The girl’s face was full of pity, her voice gentle as she petted the puppy’s head.

Only then did Summer notice that the girl was quite pretty, but not only was she very slim, her face was also rather pale, seemingly lacking color, giving off a very fragile feeling—like a fragile porcelain doll.

“Ma’am…” At this point, Katherine came to Summer’s side, noticing her staring blankly, and curiously followed her gaze. Upon seeing the girl holding the puppy, she also paused.

“Such a thin woman…” Katherine couldn’t help but exclaim.

Hearing the voices from this side, the girl holding the puppy suddenly realized something and looked towards Summer’s side.

Summer’s expression turned awkward, glancing at Katherine before apologizing to the girl, then turned to head back to the car.

After all, commenting about others like this wasn’t polite.

Seeing them turn to leave, the girl suddenly called out to them.

“Please wait a moment…”

Upon hearing the girl’s voice, Summer and Katherine both paused, turning back with puzzled expressions to look at the woman behind them.

Summer instinctively thought she was coming over because of Katherine’s rude remark earlier, seeking an explanation.

Just as she glanced at Katherine, planning to have her apologize again, the girl had already approached with the little yellow puppy in her arms.

“Miss, are you here for it too?” The girl looked at Summer and suddenly asked with curiosity.

Upon hearing this, Summer was momentarily stunned, then lowered her head to look at the trembling puppy in her arms, nodding.

Hearing her response, the girl’s face broke into a smile and she suddenly handed the puppy over to Summer.

“Then, it’s yours!”

Seeing this, Summer was a bit surprised.

From the moment the girl picked up the puppy, she thought she probably really liked it and, observing her gentle actions, believed she must be a kind person who loved animals, which was why she decided to turn back.

But unexpectedly, the girl actually wanted to give her the puppy.

“Why don’t you keep it? Don’t you like it?” Summer couldn’t help but ask, pondering.

The stray puppy in her arms didn’t look like any valuable breed—probably a local dog, commonly known as a village dog.

This type of dog seems to have the highest chance of being stray. Nowadays, quite a few people pay lots of attention to dog breeds. Could she also be unwilling to keep the puppy for this reason?
