My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively
Chapter 853 - 849: Mr. Long, Congratulations, You’re Going to Be a Father (10,000-Word Special)
Thinking about it, Summer Shawcross couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed with the girl, then suddenly reached out her hand.
Just as she was about to take the puppy, the girl’s slightly embarrassed voice sounded.
"My health is not good, and we can’t keep pets at home."
Hearing the girl’s words, Summer Shawcross was taken aback, her expression a bit surprised.
At this point, the girl had already handed the puppy over to her.
Only then did Summer notice something, the girl was indeed too thin, and her skin was much paler than usual, it must have been because of her health...
"Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of it." Summer looked at the little trembling creature in her arms, and couldn’t help but hold it closer.
"In such cold weather, its owner abandoned it, that’s truly heartless!" Katherine Irving couldn’t help but comment as she looked at the puppy in Summer’s arms.
"Yes, so pitiful..." Summer couldn’t help but echo.
"But, ma’am, will the boss let you keep this dog?" Katherine suddenly reminded Summer at this moment.
"Of course!" Summer replied without looking up.
"Sean Morgan said the boss hates dogs." Katherine’s voice followed.
Upon hearing this, Summer suddenly looked up, somewhat surprised at Katherine.
"What if the boss doesn’t allow it..." Listening to Katherine’s words, Summer’s expression changed slightly.
Noah Drexler hates dogs?
She just realized it!
"I’m sorry, am I making it difficult for you?" Hearing their conversation, the girl across from Summer suddenly showed some guilt and asked them.
"Then...you’d better give it back to me, I’ll wait here and see if anyone else is willing to take it home." The girl earnestly said to Summer.
"I’ll take responsibility for it." Summer smiled at the girl and then firmly said.
"But, what if your family doesn’t agree?" Hearing her say this, the girl was still a bit worried.
The girl’s words made Summer momentarily embarrassed, she paused, then replied.
"I can decide to keep a puppy myself."
But she was a bit puzzled, how could Noah Drexler dislike such a cute animal as a dog.
Hearing what she said, the girl nodded, but still looked at the puppy in her arms with some reluctance.
"If I get the chance, can I see it again in the future?"
From the girl’s face, Summer could see that she truly liked this dog.
"Of course." She nodded, agreeing.
Seeing her agree, the girl had a happy smile on her face and then remembered she hadn’t asked her name yet.
"By the way, I haven’t asked your name."
"My name is Summer." Summer Shawcross replied.
"I’m Jasmine." The girl politely introduced herself.
"Jasmine?" Hearing the girl’s name, Summer was a bit surprised.
It’s actually a flower name.
"Yes, my mother really likes jasmine flowers from China, so she gave me this name." The girl nodded and then explained to Summer.
"I see." Summer showed an understanding expression.
At this moment, a foreign-looking man in a suit got out of the white sedan ahead and approached, suddenly speaking to Jasmine.
"Miss, the snow is getting heavier, it’s time to go back."
Upon hearing this, Jasmine nodded, then reluctantly looked at the puppy in Summer’s arms before turning and leaving slowly.
After the girl got in the car, Summer also got in the car holding the puppy. The car’s heating was on, and the puppy was trembling badly, so Summer kept it in her arms.
The puppy felt her warmth and snuggled its little head into her chest, not barking at all, but behaving so well that it was a bit heart-wrenching.
On the way back, Summer kept her head down, carefully checking the injuries on the puppy.
Only one leg was injured, Summer felt it to make sure the bone wasn’t broken, then breathed a sigh of relief.
...
Before long, the car returned to The Hillside Villa.
The servant came over with an umbrella and opened the car door for Summer.
Summer picked up the puppy sleeping on her lap and got out of the car.
Just as she was about to carry the puppy inside and head to the second floor, footsteps came from the direction of the stairs.
"Boss?" Katherine’s surprised voice sounded.
Upon hearing Katherine’s words, Summer’s face changed slightly, and instinctively she slipped the puppy inside her down jacket, completing the move smoothly and swiftly.
