"What’s there to be sad about? Isn’t it better that he’s on a business trip? Now no one will be there to monitor you. Come with me to the mall later; I want to get some things ready for the baby." Summer Shawcross shrugged her lips, speaking indifferently.

But after she said this, Katherine Irving rolled her eyes at her and suddenly said.

"Ma’am, don’t you think you lack the qualifications to say that kind of thing?"

"What?" Summer paused her apple-eating action, unable to understand what she meant for a moment.

Katherine gave Summer an disdainful look, before continuing.

"I heard that back then, to prevent the boss from going on a business trip, you threatened divorce and risked your life—forcing the boss to cancel the whole project! My reaction now is much lighter than yours back then."

Upon hearing Katherine bring up that matter from the past, Summer nearly choked on her apple.

"Cough..." Summer coughed a few times, her face revealing a bit of embarrassment.

"Wasn’t my situation different back then..." She said helplessly.

Doing that had caused quite a few people to disapprove of her, and if she had a choice, she wouldn’t have done it.

"How was the situation different?" Katherine couldn’t help but ask.

Summer hesitated, then simply shifted the topic, suddenly asking Katherine.

"Did Sean tell you these things too?"

Katherine didn’t think much of it, and nodded honestly.

"That Sean, I can’t believe I helped him before, and yet he discredits me behind my back!" Summer bit her lip and deliberately showed a bit of an angry expression.

Seeing this, Katherine realized she might have said something wrong and quickly explained.

"No, ma’am. I pressured Sean into telling me. He was bothered by my questions and that’s why he told me."

Actually, she had heard bits and pieces of these stories before and questioned Sean. Sean disliked discussing gossip the most.

"Never mind. Come with me to buy baby supplies later and I’ll let Sean off the hook." Summer waved her hand, suddenly said generously.

Katherine was stunned, realizing she had been teased by Summer Shawcross. Although unhappy, since she was the boss’s wife, she had to swallow it down. She then decided to turn her resentment into hunger, only to find the fruit platter empty.

"Ma’am, are you pregnant with a big eater?" Katherine looked at Summer’s not-so-obvious belly, hidden by loose clothes, in surprise.

Had she really finished all that fruit?

Why had she become such an eater?

Katherine’s comment startled Summer Shawcross, who then realized she had unknowingly eaten so much.

She paused, then couldn’t help but shrug and say.

"I don’t know, my appetite’s just been really good lately. Maybe it’s because I didn’t eat much during the morning sickness?"

Speaking of this, Summer Shawcross suddenly showed a worried expression.

"Oh no, if I keep eating like this, am I going to get fat like a pig?" With that, she ate the last piece of apple.

"Ma’am, don’t worry. Even if you turn into a pig, you’ll be a beautiful pig!" Katherine quickly comforted her.
