My Child and I Married a Billionaire

Chapter 391: A Big Announcement

  • Next Chapter

Amina hadn’t known what lie to tell, so she’d used Linden as an excuse. And now Zeke Walton wanted to go kill the guy?

How could she let that happen!

She struggled to break free from Zeke Walton’s grip.

"I’m not going. I didn’t cheat on you. I was just telling you the truth. Let go of me. If you can’t accept it, then we’ll break up. I’m not going out with you."

Zeke Walton was relentless. "Even if we break up, we have to clear the air first! We’ll break up after you undo this humiliation! You two already planned to be together, you’re about to fucking dump me, and you still say you didn’t cheat on me? Does it only count if I catch you in bed? Amina, I’m trying to be civil. I don’t want to lay a hand on you, so don’t push me!"

Amina said weakly, but stubbornly,

"I’m not pushing you. I’ll go look for a new place tomorrow. As soon as I find one, I’ll take Grandma and move out..."

"So you’ve already fucking planned it all out? You’re going to move in with him? Fuck! You only met once, and you’re this desperate? Did you sleep with him? And you still won’t admit you cheated on me? Fuck! I must have been blind to fall for a woman like you! You don’t dare come with me, right? Scared I’ll break your lover boy’s legs? Don’t think I’m powerless! As long as you two are in Veridia, I’ll find that bastard sooner or later. Just you wait and see how I’ll deal with him then!"

With that, Zeke Walton angrily shook off Amina’s hand and stormed out the door again.

’I’m so screwed.’

Listening to their argument, the nanny thought to herself, ’How could Amina be so stupid? To throw away a great man like Zeke Walton and find someone else on the side. That girl looks so innocent and proper, how could she...’

’I was hoping to see them get married and help take care of their kids. Now it looks like I’ll have to find a new job again.’

Zeke Walton jumped into his car, gunned it onto the road, and sped straight for Club DL.

The club’s first-floor bar was buzzing with energy. In the middle of the dance floor, a tall woman with exaggerated makeup and a scant, daring outfit was dancing wildly, unleashing her charm.

Brandon Jacobs was sitting alone in a sofa booth in the middle of the bar. Damien Vaughn walked over with his arm around Cecelia Archer.

"What’s this big announcement that was so important you had to drag me all the way out here?"

Brandon Jacobs didn’t say anything, just raised his eyebrows at them in greeting.

Ever since he came back from Rivia, he’d been acting like this every time they saw him.

Damien Vaughn didn’t know how to comfort him, so he could only resort to teasing him the way Wyatt Wynn would.

"Cat got your tongue? If you have something to say, say it. Why the brooding act? Where’s Wyatt Wynn?"

Brandon Jacobs finally deigned to speak. "He should be here soon. Have a drink first, just wait a little longer."

’Looks like this really is important.’ He’d summoned all of them here to announce it in front of everyone.

Damien Vaughn got Cecelia Archer a glass of juice, and the two of them leaned back on the sofa.

Unexpectedly, a few minutes later, Wyatt Wynn walked in with Zeke Walton.

Zeke Walton was like a furious lion. The moment he arrived, he threw himself violently onto the sofa and kicked the coffee table in frustration.

"Fuck!"

Wyatt Wynn sat down slowly, glanced around at everyone, and gave a carefree laugh.

"What’s with you guys lately? One more dramatic than the next. Jacobs here has been moping around looking half-dead, Vaughn is impossible to find, and I was thinking you, Zeke Walton, were the only emotionally stable one, happily in love, so I could hang with you. But you... what happened? Have a fight with your little girlfriend?"

"Who the fuck has a girlfriend? Who the fuck had a fight? This is bullshit! Fuck!"

Zeke Walton, cursing up a storm, poured himself a drink, snatched it up, and started chugging it down. GULP, GULP, GULP.

Everyone watched his towering rage and exchanged glances.

’He’s this pissed off and says they didn’t fight? That young lady seemed so mild-mannered, but she managed to get him this furious.’

’What a strange world. Everyone meets their match.’

’Back then, he nearly drove Simone Vaughn crazy and acted like nothing happened. This must be karma.’

Wyatt Wynn shot him an amused look and poured himself a drink as well.

"Fine, love drives people insane. I think I’ll keep my distance from all of you. Ah, it’s better my way—I get to joke around with all the pretty girls without ever catching feelings. You’ve known me this long, have you ever seen me as emotionally volatile as you guys? See? It’s true: only the heartless can win at the game of love. Come on, if it’s too much, you should all just stop. Learn from me. Here’s a toast to us all being cold and unfeeling!"

He raised his glass, but no one joined him.

Zeke Walton was furious, but he didn’t actually want to break up with Amina.

He didn’t believe she had betrayed him. He wasn’t about to give up on love.

Damien Vaughn and Cecelia Archer had weathered countless storms and were now in a stable place in their relationship; they weren’t about to give up on love either.

As for Brandon Jacobs...

Seeing that no one was paying him any attention, Wyatt Wynn took a sip of his drink and looked at Brandon Jacobs.

"Have you gone mute? You insisted on dragging me over here to announce something, so get on with it. Everyone’s here. Let’s see what earth-shattering news you have for us."

Brandon Jacobs nodded, put down his glass, and suddenly stood up.

Everyone thought he was about to do something dramatic, but instead, he walked around the sofa, through the crowd, and headed toward the dance floor.

"Is he crazy? Did he call us over just to watch him dance?"

Everyone looked toward the dance floor and only then noticed a real stunner was there tonight.

They couldn’t see her face clearly, but illuminated by the lights, her fiery silhouette alone was breathtakingly beautiful.

"Who is that? Since when did Veridia have a stunner like her? Nope, can’t let this pass. I have to go get to know that little lady."

Just as Wyatt Wynn was staring at the gorgeous figure and joking with the others, Brandon Jacobs suddenly reached out and grabbed the girl.

Then, they watched as he dragged her all the way over, pulled her around the sofa, and pushed her down into a seat.

The girl was clearly annoyed. "What are you doing? It’s rare for me to get out. Didn’t you promise you’d pretend not to know me and let me have some fun? It’s only been a few minutes and you’re already going back on your word?"

She wore thick fake eyelashes, smoky eye makeup, and glittering eyeshadow, with heavy blush and a slash of bright red on her lips.

On anyone else, such makeup would look overly glamorous, even gaudy, but on her, it was perfectly beautiful.

Even Cecelia Archer, a woman herself, was struck by her beauty.

Everyone was looking at her, except for Brandon Jacobs.

He sat down coolly beside her and began to speak.

"Let me introduce you all. This is Faye Fisher, my childhood fiancée. Faye, these are my best friends: Zeke Walton; Damien Vaughn and his wife, Cecelia Archer; and this is Wyatt Wynn."

So this great beauty was Brandon Jacobs’s fiancée. Zeke Walton even forgot about his own heartache for a moment.

"Not bad, man. Your fiancée’s got a real personality. She’s gorgeous, and a great dancer too. Jacobs, why are you still making that long face? You’re not satisfied with this?"

Hearing someone praise her, Faye Fisher lifted her eyelids and looked at Zeke Walton.

Seeing he was a handsome pretty boy, she reached out and gave his shoulder a playful pat.

"You’ve got good taste. You’re not so bad yourself, handsome!"

Zeke Walton actually laughed, amused by her.

Faye Fisher then greeted Damien Vaughn and Cecelia Archer before her eyes landed on Wyatt Wynn. They made brief eye contact before she looked away.

"I’ve said hello to everyone. Can I go now?"

Brandon Jacobs ignored her, simply shifting his long legs to the side, creating a small gap.

Faye Fisher stood up with a flourish, squeezed through the gap, and went back to the middle of the dance floor.
