Chapter 674: I, Yi Tianyun, Am Here
Many powerful experts surrounded Yi Tianyun, including several at the Spirit King Stage, some as high as the Sixth or Seventh Layer. They had sealed the area off completely. Everyone’s gaze was icy cold, but more than that, it was filled with greed.
This was an Inheritor—the Creation Celestial Divine King’s Inheritor! It was like a massive, mobile treasure trove. How could he not attract their attention?
“Friend, our demands aren’t high. We just need you to hand over half of the Creation Celestial Divine King’s inheritance.”
“We just want the parts about Divine Runes. That’ll be enough; we don’t need the rest.”
“Heh heh, we only need a small portion. A Martial Art called the *Qiankun Divine Technique*. Just that one, we don’t want anything else…”
…
With savage expressions, they all gave Yi Tianyun sinister smiles, each one scheming to pry the Creation Celestial Divine King’s inheritance from his grasp. Going by their demands, he would have to hand over nearly every Martial Art he possessed; it was just that each person wanted a different piece.
‘At this rate, what inheritance would even be left? It’s all bullshit. Why even select an Inheritor? They might as well just wait for someone to emerge and then hollow them out.’
“And if I refuse?” Yi Tianyun said nonchalantly.
“Simple. We’ll drag you back and force it out of you, piece by piece. Or, we’ll use the Soul-Searching Technique to rip your memories out one by one!” one of them sneered. “And when it comes to the Soul-Searching Technique, I happen to be quite an expert!”
Many of them were Loose Cultivators, while the Divine Envoys from the major powers simply watched from the sidelines. The Divine Envoy from the Zuoqiu Divine Kingdom glanced over, but ultimately could only shake his head, sigh, and depart. It wasn’t that they were disloyal; it was that they couldn’t possibly protect him against so many powerful foes.
After all, with so many great nations watching like hungry tigers, the Zuoqiu Divine Kingdom seemed rather insignificant in comparison.
“You think you’re enough?” Yi Tianyun shot them a dismissive glance and chuckled. “A bunch of worthless trash, daring to act so brazenly before me? If your ancestors came here themselves, I might be a little interested. But you lot? You’re not even worth a second glance.”
“Kid, you’ve got a lot of nerve,” one of the Spirit King Stage experts sneered. “You think you’re still inside the Ascension Divine Altar? This isn’t your turf—it’s ours! What power could you possibly muster out here? Once you’re outside, you’re nothing but trash!”
“That’s right! You thought you were invincible just because you could control the Ascension Divine Altar? Out here, without the Altar’s protection, you’re nothing!”
“I’ve been itching to teach this kid a lesson. Let’s beat him up first, then interrogate him slowly. He’ll be much more cooperative then!”
Every one of them thought Yi Tianyun was just a fox borrowing the tiger’s might, relying entirely on the power of the Ascension Divine Altar to suppress so many Spirit King Stage experts. Now that he was outside, he was just a paper tiger, ready to be torn apart with a single poke.
“So you all really believe I have no power of my own? That I could only act so freely inside because I was relying on the Ascension Divine Altar?” Yi Tianyun stated calmly.
“And you’re not?” they sneered.
Some of them immediately sensed something was wrong. Yi Tianyun seemed far too calm—terrifyingly so. Faced with so many powerful experts, he showed no signs of pressure whatsoever. He was still speaking casually, without a trace of fear.
‘If he were really just borrowing power, he should have fled back inside immediately, not stood here chatting so leisurely.’
“In that case, allow me to let you experience firsthand whether I truly rely on the Ascension Divine Altar’s power.”
With a flick of his wrist, Yi Tianyun summoned the Celestial Nether Divine Sword into his hand. With a WHOOSH, the Netherworld Fire erupted along the blade. In an instant, a bone-chilling aura enveloped the area, causing the temperature to plummet to freezing!
The next moment, he raised his hand and swung. A Sword Aura dozens of meters long slashed outward, instantly slicing a large swath of experts in front of him in two! The Netherworld Fire immediately swarmed their severed bodies, freezing them into ice sculptures in the blink of an eye!
“Ding! Successfully killed a Spirit King Stage expert. Gained Experience…”
“Ding! Successfully killed…”
“Ding! …”
…
There were so many people crowded together that a single slash instantly claimed the lives of ten or twenty of them, effortlessly. They didn’t even have time to react before they were killed. Even Spirit King Stage experts were cut in half at the waist by that one sword strike, dying with their eyes wide in disbelief!
Yi Tianyun took another step forward and swung his sword again. Everyone within dozens of meters was sliced in two, as easily as if he were cutting through melons, meeting no resistance at all.
“H-He’s a demon!!”
The distant Cultivators instantly realized their judgment had been wrong—horribly wrong! This young man wasn’t relying on the Ascension Divine Altar’s power at all. His own strength was simply heaven-defying, to a terrifying degree!
Immediately, people began to scatter and flee. However, some of the Spirit King Stage experts recovered quickly, summoned their strongest weapons, and launched a ferocious assault on Yi Tianyun.
Faced with such a staggering inheritance, how could they possibly let it go? They lunged forward recklessly, as if their lives meant nothing. Most of them were Loose Cultivators. Capturing Yi Tianyun meant they could advance their cultivation further, perhaps even create their own Empire!
In order to change their own destiny, they were willing to risk everything to capture Yi Tianyun.
But it was meaningless. With a casual swing of his sword, Yi Tianyun sliced them in two. It was like harvesting leeks, cutting them down row after row. They became wave after wave of experience and Madness Value flooding in, though the amounts from each were relatively small.
Still, he activated Mad Experience Mode to capitalize on the opportunity. He didn’t even need things like the Doubled Madness Value Card; later levels of Madness Mode could multiply the Madness Value he earned by five times, making the gains quite substantial.
“And here I was, just thinking I was running low on Madness Value. Since you’re all so eager to deliver yourselves to me, I won’t be polite about accepting.” With every step, Yi Tianyun swung his sword, effortlessly reaping the lives of a dozen—or even dozens—of people.
Experts who were unassailable in the eyes of many Cultivators were slaughtered with utter ease!
“Run! Run for your lives!”
After he had killed several hundred people, fear finally took hold. Some turned to flee, but a flash of Sword Aura shot out and cut them in two!
“Now that you’re here, you’re not leaving.”
Yi Tianyun uttered his usual catchphrase. ‘Those who come to hunt me must be prepared to be hunted themselves!’
He appeared to take only a single step, but in reality, he covered a great distance, instantly appearing within the crowd to continue his harvest. He wasn’t just gaining experience now; more importantly, he was making an announcement to the entire Celestial Realm—’I, Yi Tianyun, have arrived. Are you ready?’
