My Cuckhold System

Chapter 292: Return It

West stood directly behind Jax with arms folded.

Jax grabbed his chest. "What the hell man?"

West raised an eyebrow. "What?"

"How long have you been standing there?"

"Long enough."

The recruits immediately started trying not to laugh.

Jax pointed accusingly. "You move too quietly."

West ignored that. Instead, his eyes drifted toward the sports car.

Jax immediately brightened again. "Oh!"

He rushed toward the vehicle. "Check this out."

He slapped the hood with a bright expression. "Isn’t it beautiful?"

West stared at it without saying a word while Jax grinned.

"I know."

"It’s amazing."

West remained silent but Jax continued anyway. "I’ll take you for a ride."

He gestured dramatically. "Come on."

West expression remained deadpan while several recruits suddenly became very interested in the weather.

Nina smirked because she already knew what was coming.

West finally spoke. "You bought an expensive car."

Jax nodded proudly. "Yep."

"You like it?"

West looked at him before shifting his gaze to the car and then back at him.

"Return it," he stated.

Jax blinked. "What?"

"Return it."

The grin slowly vanished from Jax’s face while several recruits immediately stepped backward.

Nobody wanted to be involved.

Jax scratched the back of his head. "Uh..."

West’s expression remained calm as he added. "What did I say about laying low?"

Jax opened his mouth but closed it without saying a word as West continued.

"You know Iron Vultures are looking for any opportunity to blame us."

Jax winced as West pointed at the vehicle.

"How exactly do you expect people to believe that a member of a beginner gang can suddenly afford this?"

The realization hit Jax immediately, causing him to freeze.

Even the new recruits stopped smiling because that was actually a problem...

"Ah," Jax stared at the car before staring back at West.

"Ahhhh..." The realization fully settled. "Oh shit."

West nodded. "Exactly."

Jax covered his face. "Goddammit."

West’s tone softened slightly. "You can buy an even expensive one later."

"But right now?" he pointed at the vehicle. "We don’t need that attention."

After a few moments Jax finally sighed. "Fine."

West nodded. "Good."

There was no argument or complaints. Jax knew when he messed up.

About thirty minutes later, the return process had already begun.

Jax climbed into the driver’s seat and the engine roared beautifully, almost making him change his mind.

"Goodbye my love."

One recruit wiped away an imaginary tear while another started playing funeral music from his phone. Jax flipped them off.

The gates opened, the sports car rolled out and the journey toward the dealership began.

Several streets away, at a quiet corner... a figure stood partially concealed within the shade of a nearby building.

As the sports car passed, the figure watched it carefully with their eyes narrowed, focusing on the person in the driver’s seat... Jax.

The car disappeared around the corner while the figure remained still for several seconds.

The figure pulled out a phone and a number was dialed.

After the call connected, the figure finally spoke. "I just spotted one of Shadow Reapers."

The person listened and paused for the one on the other end.

"Yeah."

Another pause...

Their gaze remained fixed in the direction Jax had gone.

"And I think you’re going to find this interesting."

Dinner at the Renzhi household was usually one of the few moments where the family actually spent time together.

As usual expensive paintings decorated the walls while floor-to-ceiling windows overlooked the beautifully maintained gardens outside.

Yet despite all of that luxury, the loudest thing in the room remained Rin.

"Dad, listen to this!"

"No."

"You haven’t even heard it yet."

"I don’t need to."

"You do."

"I don’t."

"You do."

"I don’t."

"You do."

Renzhi sighed.

Across the table, Eric nearly choked trying not to laugh.

Mei rolled her eyes while Lianhua merely smiled and continued eating.

Rin pointed dramatically "Nobody appreciates my talent."

"You haven’t demonstrated any talent," Eric replied.

"That’s because you lack vision."

"I lack patience."

The siblings immediately started bickering again.

Normally Renzhi would have found the scene amusing but tonight... not so much.

His phone vibrated causing Renzhi to glance down.

His expression darkened immediately he saw who was calling. He instantly cut it.

A few seconds later it rang again but he cut it once more.

The third time, he didn’t even look before rejecting it.

His irritation steadily grew while across the table, Lianhua noticed. "Work?"

Renzhi forced a smile. "Something like that."

While dinner continued, the phone rang again and again and again...

Renzhi’s patience began evaporating.

Just when he was considering turning the device off entirely, the doorbell rang.

The entire table paused wondering who could here by this time.

Several moments later, one of the maids entered the dining room.

She bowed respectfully. "Sir."

Renzhi looked up. "What is it?"

The maid hesitated. "There is someone here to see you."

Immediately, a bad feeling settled into his stomach.

"Who?"

"They wouldn’t provide a name."

Renzhi’s eyes narrowed... Slowly pushing his chair back, he stood. "I’ll handle it."

He proceeded to walk out and the further he moved from the dining room... the worse his mood became.

By the time he reached the main reception hall, he already knew what he was going to find.

And unfortunately... he was right.

Bloodstain sat comfortably on one of the expensive couches as though he owned the place.

The moment he spotted Renzhi, he smiled.

Renzhi nearly lost his mind. "What the hell are you doing here?"

Several maids nearby immediately pretended not to hear anything.

Renzhi grabbed Bloodstain’s arm. "Outside."

Moments later the two men stood near the front gardens away from the house itself.

The moment they were alone, Renzhi exploded. "What the fuck is wrong with you?"

Bloodstain remained calm. "I’ve been trying to contact you."

"And I haven’t been answering."

"Exactly."

Renzhi rubbed his forehead. "Which should have told you something."

Bloodstain’s expression hardened. "Suddenly none of my friends want anything to do with me."

Renzhi groaned. "It’s not like that."

"Then what is it?"

"Don’t come around my family."

His voice lowered. "I don’t bring awakened business anywhere near them."

Bloodstain laughed. "Funny."

"What?"

"I remember saying something similar once."

Renzhi wasn’t amused.

Bloodstain’s smile disappeared. "I need help."

The words came out with a more serious tone than before and for the first time, Renzhi actually studied him carefully.

Bloodstain looked rough, exhausted and angry.

"My gang is falling apart."

Renzhi crossed his arms. "And what exactly do you expect me to do about that?"

Bloodstain stepped forward. "Help me."

"I can’t."

"Why not?"

"Because I shouldn’t even be associated with you."

Bloodstain’s eyes narrowed. "You’re the one who told me to go after that Shadow Reapers brat."

Renzhi immediately looked around. "Lower your fucking voice."

The last thing he needed was anyone overhearing this conversation.

Bloodstain continued anyway. "Now look where it got me."

Renzhi shook his head. "There is absolutely no way Shadow Reapers is responsible for everything that happened."

Bloodstain suddenly started laughing bitterly.

"That’s exactly the kind of thinking that got me here."

Renzhi frowned while Bloodstain continued. "I really underestimated them."

"Everyone underestimated them."

"Now look at the result."

For a moment neither spoke... then Bloodstain’s expression became cold. "I need to hit them back."

Renzhi immediately shook his head. "No."

"I need—"

"No."

Bloodstain stared at him and Renzhi met his gaze without flinching. "I cannot help you attack Shadow Reapers."

"I’ll get dragged into something I don’t want any part of."

Bloodstain voice dropped as he stepped closer. "You could get dragged into something much worse if I tell people who sent me after West in the first place."

A dangerous beat of silence as Renzhi’s eyes hardened. "Are you threatening me?"

Bloodstain didn’t answer but the tension between them became almost suffocating.

Eventually Renzhi looked away. If that information ever surfaced, it could create problems he didn’t need.

After several moments, he sighed. "I cannot help you directly."

Bloodstain remained silent while Renzhi continued. "I can’t touch Shadow Reapers."

"I can’t move against them."

"I can’t publicly support you."

He paused briefly before adding. "But perhaps I can assist financially."

Meanwhile, back inside the house, dinner was still ongoing.

Completely unaware of the argument occurring outside, Rin was still talking.

In fact, she seemed physically incapable of stopping.

At one point she somehow managed to switch topics four times within a single sentence.

Even Eric looked impressed.

Lianhua eventually turned toward Mei with a playful smile on her face. "So."

Mei looked up from her phone. "Oh no..."

"How are things with your boyfriend?" Lianhua asked.

Rin practically teleported into the conversation. "YES!"

Eric groaned while Mei covered her face. "Mom."

"What?"

"Don’t."

"Why not?"

"Because she’s going to make it weird."

Rin pointed at herself. "Correct."

Lianhua laughed. "No, really."

She leaned forward slightly. "How are things with Smith?"

Mei’s expression softened. "They’re good."

"Just good?"

Mei immediately blushed. "Well... more than good."

Everyone immediately went; "Ohhhhhhh."
