My Days Building A Harem At A Japanese Girls' High School
Chapter 7: "...Kick you right out of Saint Sakura!"
Back at the school building, things were relatively quiet since it was lunchtime.
Before even stepping into the classroom, Quillan spotted Miyuki Sakurai dressed in her white sailor uniform and white over-the-knee socks. Seeing Quillan approach, Miyuki walked over with a slight blush, holding a bento box in her hands.
Ah, Quillan remembered—this was the lunch she offered to get for him...
"Quillan, I... I didn’t know what you like, so..."
Miyuki stammered nervously. This was actually her first time bringing lunch for a boy, so a little anxiety was unavoidable, plus she worried the food wouldn’t suit Quillan’s taste.
"Thank you, I really like it!"
Out of politeness, Quillan replied this way and took the bento box from Miyuki. Since they couldn’t eat inside the empty classroom, Quillan thought for a second, then walked over to the edge of the sports field with Miyuki, taking a seat under the shade of a large tree.
Miyuki squatted down beside Quillan, her cheeks blushing a bright, endearing pink. The April sun in Tokyo wasn’t overly intense, and under the cool shade of the tree, it was actually quite pleasant.
Watching Quillan eat the bento she bought, a satisfied smile spread across Miyuki’s blushing face, and a strange, sweet feeling bloomed in her heart. High school was the age when young love first sparked, and for a girl at an all-girls school who had rarely interacted with boys since middle school, suddenly meeting a handsome, sunny guy like Quillan—who had also stepped in to rescue her in a crisis—made it impossible not to hold a deep affection for him.
Seeing Quillan eat the bento so happily with a delighted expression, Miyuki grew even more thrilled. She asked hesitantly, "Quillan, you... you actually like heavily seasoned food? I was worried... you wouldn’t like spicy food!"
"Not at all, a bit of spice is totally fine..." Quillan smiled as he finished off the very last bite in the bento box.
"You... you ate it all?" Miyuki joyfully snatched the bento box back, nodding at Quillan. "Please wait a moment, Quillan, I’ll go return the bento box first..."
With that, Miyuki hurriedly turned around and ran off toward the cafeteria.
Watching her leave, Quillan wiped his forehead just as his phone began to ring.
"Hello!" Seeing the caller ID, Quillan realized it was Gavin, so he answered in English.
On the other end, Gavin chuckled and asked directly, "How is it? My dear Young Master Quillan, is the Japanese girls’ school fun? Are there tons of beauties?"
"Tons, actually. Feels pretty great!" Quillan replied against his true thoughts. In reality, he had just wanted a few quiet days, but clearly... that troublemaker Gavin had no intention of letting him lead a peaceful life.
The guy had actually dropped him into an all-girls school!
What was worse, calling right now to ask if there were tons of beauties was a dead giveaway that Gavin was just looking to mock him!
Quillan wasn’t about to give him the satisfaction of sounding helpless, so he intentionally claimed he was enjoying it.
Sure enough, Gavin went quiet on the line for a moment before asking in a shocked tone, "No way, Young Master Quillan, did I mishear you? You’re actually enjoying it? Haven’t you always kept your distance from girls?"
"That was all because of Victoria Quinn, alright?" Quillan chuckled. Truth be told, his lack of interest in girls stemmed from that crazy girl Victoria, who had ruined his general impression of women. That was why Quillan had always been indifferent toward them, making Gavin’s surprise completely understandable!
Gavin lost his smug laughter on the other end. He had meant to tease Quillan, but now Quillan was claiming he loved being surrounded by girls!
It left Gavin feeling utterly shut down, like he’d offered enthusiasm only to get a cold shoulder...
Still, as good friends, Gavin quickly recovered from his surprise and laughed genuinely: "Well, that’s good! I was worried you wouldn’t adjust to life in Japan, haha... Guess I was worrying for nothing! But man, you’ve always been dense and stubborn when it comes to women, how’d you suddenly flip the switch in Japan? Don’t tell me Japanese girls are so passionate that you fell into a sweet trap, changed your whole mindset, and now plan to hit on every girl in school?"
Through the phone, Quillan didn’t catch the shift in Gavin’s tone and assumed the guy was just trying to provoke him. Raising his voice playfully, he bragged back in Japanese, "That’s right! I plan to hit on every pretty girl in Saint Sakura High! What about it?"
Quillan had learned his Japanese from Gavin, so the two often joked around in the language.
After making that claim, Quillan let out a smug chuckle, the corners of his lips curving upward in sheer amusement. But just as he sensed someone standing behind him and turned around, he froze on the spot.
A short distance away stood a girl with waist-length hair dressed in a white sailor uniform. She was glaring at Quillan with a look of utter disgust. Quillan recognized her instantly—she was his classmate, the class beauty, the class rep, and rumor had it, the daughter of the board chairman at Saint Sakura Girls’ High School: Ruri Hosokawa!
To make matters worse, Quillan had already offended Ruri earlier over the class rep voting. Judging by the expression on her face right now, she had clearly overheard his entire conversation with Gavin!
"Hey... hello? Quillan, why’d you stop talking?"
Gavin was still yelling through the receiver, but Quillan snapped back to reality, quickly brushed him off, and hung up. He looked at Ruri and was just about to explain, but Ruri cut in first:
"Hit on every pretty girl in Saint Sakura? Hey, Quillan, are you some kind of megalomaniac? You pervert, how could Saint Sakura High ever tolerate someone like you? Hmph! I’m definitely telling my mother about this and getting a creep like you thrown right out of Saint Sakura!"
Her tone was hostile to the extreme!
Quillan, who had originally intended to explain, instantly changed his mind. It seemed no amount of explaining would work anyway, as Ruri clearly despised him. He gave a casual smile and asked, "Well then, Hosokawa-san, do you happen to have a voice recorder on you?"
"Eh?" Ruri blinked in surprise. "Why would I have a recorder?"
"If you don’t have one, how are you going to prove I actually said those things?" Quillan kindly reminded her with a calm smile. "Without proof, relying solely on your word, the board chairman probably won’t believe you, right? She’ll just think you’re being naughty and failing to get along with a classmate..."
"Enough!"
Hearing Quillan’s words, Ruri suddenly flew into a rage. Clenching her teeth, she pointed at him and shouted, "You perverted megalomaniac! Who do you think you are? What gives you the right to call me a naughty child? I... I am definitely going to have my mother kick you right out of Saint Sakura!"
