Chapter 923

Anton had actually sent his letter by summoned raven to Paul and Eric’s fathers, since there was a chance that they might be somewhere a summoned creature could not enter.

Since both Paul and Eric’s fathers were originally from this continent, Anton was positive that they would know what to do with the information he had written in the letter.

It would be easy enough to find the warehouse where the slavers were keeping the captives since the raven would be able to guide them to the location.

“Do you happen to know when they’ll move us from here?” Anton asked the boy beside him in a soft voice.

“We overheard them talking. They said that since it’s dangerous for us to remain here for too long, they’ll move us tomorrow,” the boy answered.

Anton wasn’t willing to wait that long. If the authorities of Remuth didn’t arrive within three hours, he would take action.

He didn’t want to remain in the hands of these scums any longer than necessary, so he began planning what he would do.

Anton thought the best move would be to summon the Shadow Warrior and Shadow Master and have them act as if they had come from outside with the intention of rescuing the captives.

“Are you planning on doing something? You’re a wizard, aren’t you? I saw you summon that crow,” another boy asked Anton.

Anton and several of the other boys glared at him because he had asked the question in a loud voice.

When the boy realized that everyone inside the cage was glaring at him, he immediately cowered.

“Stupid. Probably someone who wanted to become a slave,” one of the captured boys whispered.

Anton told himself that he would wait at least another two or three hours before taking action, but he soon grew tired of waiting.

He summoned the Shadow Warrior and Shadow Master outside the cage and commanded them to assassinate the guards as quietly as possible.

The Shadow Warrior was made of shadow, so it could move without making much noise. The Shadow Master cast the Fade spell and disappeared from view.

Anton commanded his summons to be extremely subtle. They needed to ensure that their actions remained unnoticed by the people guarding the captives.

After a few minutes, Anton felt his summons begin their work. Because they were his summons, he could use their perception to see what they were doing. He usually avoided doing this because it was confusing and had only tried it before with a summoned raven. Even that had given him a headache.

He was surprised to see his two summons working side by side.

Anton soon realized why. The patrolling thugs worked in pairs, so because he had commanded his summons to remain unnoticed, the Shadow Warrior and Shadow Master needed to kill each pair as quickly and quietly as possible.

Unfortunately, some of the thugs were stronger than the others, and after the two summons had killed around eight men, their actions were finally noticed.

Anton saw the thugs guarding the captives become agitated. No alarm had sounded, but they had realized that someone was attacking their hideout.

The people inside the nearby room, who had been holding their meeting, soon exited. Based on what Anton could see, someone had already reported to them that the warehouse was under attack.

Several of the leaders glared at the captives before shouting commands to some of their thugs.

The men who received the orders smiled maliciously at the captives.

The captives immediately realized that something terrible was about to happen. Judging by the thugs’ actions, the slavers were preparing to kill some of the captives so the remaining prisoners would be easier to control.

The women began huddling together and sobbing. The children, who didn’t understand what was happening, saw the women’s reactions and began crying as well.

The commotion angered some of the leaders.

“Hurry up!” one of them suddenly shouted.

Anton realized that he could no longer wait.

He summoned all of his remaining summons: six dire wolves, six spirit wolves, the dire bear, the poison creeper, the clay golem, and the Valkyrie. He commanded all of them to protect the captives with everything they had.

To ensure that his summons were operating at their maximum strength, Anton activated the Paladin Auras that benefited all of them.

The cages were immediately surrounded by powerful summons.

Half of them remained near the three cages, ensuring that none of the slavers could approach the captives. The others moved to attack the slavers directly.

The Shadow Master and Shadow Warrior returned and began attacking openly.

The spellcasters among the slavers’ leaders began casting spells, but they simply weren’t powerful enough to overcome Anton’s summons.

Within minutes, all of the thugs had been killed. Anton had explicitly commanded his summons to kill them, but he ordered them to keep the leaders alive.

The spellcasters were rendered unconscious so they could no longer cast spells. The Valkyrie and Shadow Master were responsible for incapacitating them.

Anton then openly summoned the rest of his ravens and commanded them to patrol the surrounding area. He wanted to make sure that the slavers’ allies couldn’t launch a surprise attack.

He didn’t know whether the slavers had managed to send a distress signal to their colleagues outside the warehouse.

Once all of the slavers had either been killed or subdued, Anton used his Prayer Aura and Vigor Aura to heal and rejuvenate the captives.

He also cast a Cleaning spell since most of the captives had soiled themselves. He wanted them to regain their dignity as quickly as possible.

After all the boys had been healed, rejuvenated, and cleaned by Anton’s spells, he broke the locks on their cages and proceeded to the cage holding the women.

“I’ve already contacted the authorities. They’ll be coming soon. I’m going to heal and clean you using my spells,” Anton told them.

Thankfully, the captives weren’t excessively traumatized. They had only been held for a couple of days, and none of them had been violated.

After healing, rejuvenating, and cleaning the women, Anton asked them to help him calm the children.

He then did the same for the children locked inside the third cage.

The women did an excellent job calming the children. Once everyone had been restored, they began asking Anton what they should do next.

“I’ve already sent a message to the authorities. We just need to wait for them to arrive,” Anton announced.

While they waited, Anton distributed food to all of the captives.

He had enormous quantities of food and drinks stored in his inventory. Even after feeding everyone in the warehouse, his supplies would remain plentiful.

Because he had mostly stored only the finest food, everyone immediately devoured what he gave them.

Anton had to warn them to eat slowly because eating too much after going without food for a long time could make them sick.

“There’s enough food for everyone,” he assured them.

The delicious food helped stabilize the situation. Some of the children who had remained inconsolable also began to calm down after Anton commanded several of the spirit wolves to comfort them.

Before long, all of the children were sleeping beside the wolves.

They found comfort in the summons’ soft fur and in the sense of safety they felt beside the enormous creatures.

Even some of the women eventually joined the children in resting.

“Until when are we supposed to wait here?” one of the boys asked.

“Until the authorities arrive,” Anton simply replied.

Thankfully, after another couple of hours, Anton received word from one of his summoned ravens.

The authorities had finally arrived.
