My Favorite Game Followed Me!
Chapter 966
By the time Anton completed leveling eight Diablo II ladder characters to the maximum level, he was delighted to discover that the ladder season was only halfway over. That meant reaching his goal of surpassing thirteen characters was still possible this season.
During the weeks he spent leveling his Diablo II ladder characters, he took an hour to talk with his father and sister. The meeting happened because his father entered the game he was currently playing.
Anton quit that game, and Anders followed him to the game he had created to meet with his family.
They had canceled their scheduled meetings and agreed that they would only meet if there was a need to. Both Anders and Anna could contact him using the earrings they had been using to communicate.
In truth, Anton felt a little ashamed to keep relying on the earrings, but they were sufficient for them. They could also meet inside Anton’s Diablo II game and talk there.
He was surprised when Anders told him that they wanted to meet because it had been a long time since they had last talked, and they simply wanted to catch up.
Since nothing of real importance had happened that would make Anton consider returning home, they simply talked about the state of their lives. Afterward, they all returned to what they had been doing.
By the time the season ended, Anton had managed to level a total of seventeen characters. The problem was that all of them were Sorceresses.
His initial plan had been to level around six or seven Sorceresses and then focus on leveling other characters so that the stats he could transfer would be more balanced.
The problem was that he had become addicted to how quickly he could move while using a Sorceress character. Before he realized it, he was already working on his eighth Sorceress. Because of that, Anton simply decided to continue focusing solely on leveling Sorceresses.
It was a pity that, during that season, the only stat he could transfer was the Sorceress’s primary stat.
What irritated Anton greatly was that after the season ended, his Diablo System sent him a notification informing him that, during the ladder season, regardless of which character he leveled, he could transfer twenty percent of any stat he chose.
That meant that even if he played a Sorceress, he could still balance out the stats he transferred from his characters into the real world.
He wondered why his Diablo System had waited until after the ladder season ended to notify him of the change.
There was still an issue with the recent change, though. Even if he was given the choice of which stat to transfer, he still needed to consider which character he would need to level.
If he wanted to focus on increasing his Energy or Vitality, then it was fine to keep leveling a Sorceress. However, if he wanted to increase his Strength or Dexterity, he would need to choose a character that was easy enough to level while focusing on those stats.
Anton shrugged since the season had already ended. At the very least, he felt that he had grown much stronger. More than likely, after one or two more seasons, he would officially enter the ranks of the Invincible.
In truth, even if he reached the ranks of an Invincible Wizard, it would only be because of how powerful his damage and defenses would be. When it came to wizardry knowledge, he was lacking compared to wizards of the same rank.
Anton didn’t mind. He was only twenty years old. As long as he could fight his way out of any trouble, he felt that he would be fine. When it came to knowledge, he was sure that he would be able to accumulate it over time.
Thankfully, even though the three-month period had ended, he still had a few weeks before his tutor required him to complete a mandatory mission.
He planned to focus on his spatial skills. At least he had still made a lot of progress in that area. Even though he had been focused on leveling his Diablo II ladder characters, he had still spent at least five hours a day studying his spatial skills.
By the time his tutor forced him to take the mission, Anton’s progress with his spatial skills had increased considerably. He thought that it would probably take only another month before he could solidify the third circle of the Spatial Array in his mind.
Once he solidified the fourth circle, he could take the test to rank up to Apprentice Traveler. He couldn’t wait to reach that rank because that was when he would be allowed to travel to other planets.
Unfortunately, his instincts told him that Earth was located in another dimension. That meant he would need to wait until he reached the rank above Journeyman—the Adept Traveler rank—before he would have the skill set necessary to travel to other dimensions.
Anton had also successfully added the Blink spell to the fourth tab skill of his Sorceress character.
Early in the ladder season, he had focused on studying the Gate spell, but its complexity had defeated him, so he decided to switch to the Blink spell.
Because the Blink spell’s structure was similar to that of the Teleport spell, he successfully added Blink to the Sorceress’s fourth tab after the season ended.
Anton then returned to studying the Gate spell. He felt that after successfully understanding the Blink spell, studying the Gate spell had become a little easier.
That realization enlightened Anton. He thought that learning the spell structure of Blink had allowed him to comprehend some of the complexities within the spell structure of the Gate spell.
Because of that, he decided to study the Anchor spell at the same time.
All that studying had to be put on hold because he had to complete another mission for the tower.
While browsing the various missions in the mission hall, Anton was surprised to find one that could be completed inside the Northern Forest in the Gale Continent.
It was a mission to find the so-called Dream Mushrooms. Dream Mushrooms were powerful hallucinogens that contained traces of spatial magic.
Since he had experience in the Northern Forest, he could visit his friends, ask about the mushrooms, and perhaps trade with them for some.
Once he accepted the mission, Anton didn’t delay. He immediately left using the coordinates that would transport him near the Northern Forest.
When he arrived at the Northern Forest, he entered it immediately and hurried toward the center.
After a few hours, several elves found him. When the forest elves saw that it was him, as expected, they welcomed him with open arms.
They led him to their kingdom, where Anton met up with his friends. It amused him that the first thing his friends asked for was more movies.
Anton was glad that Leldorin was among the friends who met with him, since he was one of those who held some authority.
They all gathered in one of the elves’ taverns, and Anton began talking about what he had done since leaving the forest.
His adventures made the young elves gasp in admiration, especially when his story culminated in his telling them about joining Traveler’s Haven, an organization that would help him travel to different worlds and dimensions.
When Anton told them that he planned to search for worlds among the stars that were similar to the movies they had all watched, the envy on his friends’ faces grew so intense that they could no longer hide it from him.
