My Favorite Game Followed Me!
Chapter 970
Chapter 969
Anton didn’t want to leave Traveler’s Haven to complete missions. He felt that, in another month, he would be able to solidify the fourth circle of the Spatial Magic Meditation Array in his mind. Once he reached that objective, it would be time for him to undertake the mission to rank up to Apprentice Traveler.
He couldn’t wait to rank up to Journeyman Traveler, since that was when he would be given a mission to explore other worlds.
If he was being honest, Anton thought he needed more experience as a traveler, and he could only gain that experience by exploring the lands in his home world and completing missions for Master Vernatu’s tower.
Anton simply sighed and went to the mission hall to browse the list of missions he could complete at his rank.
What surprised him was that he saw a few missions related to things he already had, such as the Mithril Ore laced with Spatial Energy, the Purple Corals, and even the Dream Mushrooms.
This meant that Anton could select one of those missions, submit the mission items already in his inventory, and immediately complete it.
The problem was that doing so would defeat the purpose of learning how to become an effective traveler.
Because of that, he resolutely decided to choose a mission that would allow him to experience something new.
He found one that asked him to gather Red Salt from the Armundan Desert.
The Armundan Desert was located south of Homura in Rendindura. Homura was a kingdom that had also been destroyed by the Undead Coalition, but according to the details in the mission log, the Kingdom of Homura had since been rebuilt.
The mission specified that those who accepted the mission to gather Red Salt would join a merchant caravan originating from the Kingdom of Homura. The caravan would pass through different towns and villages before eventually reaching the Port Kingdom of Nermuna, to the south of the continent of Rendindura.
Nermuna was one of the many kingdoms in southern Rendindura that had not been affected by the attack of the Undead Coalition. It was a huge and wealthy kingdom.
The merchant caravan’s main goal was to purchase goods from the Port Kingdom of Nermuna and bring them back to kingdoms that were still in the process of rebuilding from the devastation caused by the Undead Coalition, such as Homura.
According to the mission log, the merchant caravan would be leaving in three days, so anyone who wanted to accept the mission would need to reach Homura immediately.
One of the advantages of doing missions for the tower was the lack of a strict deadline or time frame. He could take months to complete them, and no one in Vernatu’s Tower would say anything about it.
Anton went to the mission hall attendant to inform them of the mission he wanted to accept. After it was confirmed that the mission had been assigned to him, Anton checked his inventory to make sure he had everything he would need to travel comfortably through the desert.
He sighed when he looked at the tons of cooked and uncooked food he had managed to store in his inventory. He also had tons of different kinds of drinks, including fruit juices, ales, wines, beer, sodas, and more.
Anton also had tons of clothing for all seasons, both for men and women, as well as all the other items a traveler might need, such as tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, blankets, curtains, and more.
Not to mention all the magic items he could use, such as his Frozen Orb air conditioner, Firewall Stove, Firebolt Lantern, Ice Bolt Cup, and more.
Based on the number of things in his inventory, Anton didn’t need to add anything else. That was a pity, since he wanted to roam the market and buy things he thought he might need.
Since he wanted to shop anyway, Anton went to the market.
The first thing he did was roam through the different shops and restaurants. He wanted to add more delicious, cooked food to his collection. Since he had a huge inventory and the food stored inside it wouldn’t spoil, he thought it didn’t matter too much that he already had tons of food.
Anton also purchased more things that would make life easier for a traveler in the desert. The problem was that he also managed to collect several support spells that could provide many of the same conveniences, such as the Mending spell, the Create House spell, which allowed him to conjure a temporary magical house where he could stay, and several other support spells of the same kind.
The fact was that Anton wasn’t used to using them.
First of all, some of the spells were designed purely for survival and wouldn’t provide the best experience. For example, the Create Food and Water spell would only provide the blandest food and simple water to drink. No one would truly enjoy subsisting on such subpar sustenance for too long.
Anton could also use the tiny house that the forest elves had made for him. With the Frozen Orb air conditioner and Firewall Stove, the wooden house was enough for him to live comfortably anywhere he needed to camp.
Another thing was that, since he was still in his own world, Anton could use the Gate spell immediately without any issues. That meant that, if necessary, he could return home whenever he wanted, even if it was simply to have a peaceful rest, and then return to the mission location several hours later.
Basically, Master Vernatu was right. Any mission below the Adept Traveler rank would be easy for Anton to complete.
Anton knew that if he requested it, Master Vernatu would probably allow him to suspend his missions until he reached the Adept Traveler rank. He could explain to his teacher that, since everyone already knew his capabilities, it would be more efficient for him to reach the high rank necessary to complete missions in other worlds or dimensions.
He held himself back from doing such a thing because Anton realized that, considering his young age and even his actual age when he died back on Earth, he was still too young and inexperienced.
More years and experience would help him greatly, so he decided to follow the ranking process within the Traveler’s Haven organization step by step.
After he finished shopping, Anton traveled to the Kingdom of Homura by going to the designated location where he could cast the Gate and Anchor spells.
When he arrived in Homura, Anton realized that he was overdressed, so he found a sufficiently private place where he could quickly change his clothes to better suit a desert kingdom like Homura.
After changing his clothes, Anton felt as if he were cosplaying the Prince of Persia from the video game.
According to the mission log, the merchant caravans could be found in the southern part of the city, so he started walking south.
Anton had to ask a few pedestrians for directions, and thankfully, some of them were kind enough to point him in the right direction.
There were also a few people who attempted to mislead him, probably hoping to rob him, but it was easy for Anton to detect their malicious intentions.
He simply avoided or ignored them because he didn’t want to waste time dealing with such people.
By late afternoon, he managed to find the merchant caravans preparing to travel through the desert toward the Port Kingdom of Nermuna.
As a matter of fact, there were plenty of such caravans.
To make his journey easier, Anton chose the largest one because he thought traveling in the middle of such a huge caravan would be safer and more convenient.
Since he had earned a large amount of mana stones from the merfolk, Anton decided to splurge and rent a carriage for himself.
Unfortunately, the caravan wouldn’t be leaving until the next day, and all the carriages had already been rented.
The best accommodation he could get was a large, covered cart that had been rented by a family of wealthy merchants.
