CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

The first Deres soldiers slammed into the Whitemane shield formations.

They stabbed at their legs, pushed against their shields, and pulled at their edges. Anything to break the tight formations.

And it was working.

’’ARGH!’’

’’MY LEG!’’

’’HEL—’’

Whitemane soldiers fell one after another through the chaos.

But their squad leaders weren’t just going to sit back.

’’SPEARS! NOW!’’ shouted one, who was in charge of the tower furthest away from the center.

Without any delay, his second line of soldiers thrust their weapons forward.

Their spears shot out from between the shields, giving the Deres soldiers no time to react.

SHHK! SHHK! SHHK!

One after another, they began collapsing, their blood spilling across the wall.

Unfortunately, that did little to stop the enemy’s advance.

Deres soldiers surged forward, stepping over the bodies of their fallen comrades.

Some even used them to stab over the Whitemane shields!

The squad leader’s expression faltered immediately.

’What’s with these maniacs?!’ he thought. ’It’s like they’re animals!’

’’SPEARS AGAIN!’’ he immediately shouted.

SHHK! SHHK!

The wave of spears shot forward once more.

Many of the Deres soldiers met their end.

BOOM!

Suddenly, a loud noise rang out.

The squad leader’s head snapped toward the center of the formation.

A single man had cut through, his sword surrounded by aura.

’’CHARGEEEE!’’ he roared.

Several Deres soldiers immediately rushed through.

But it wasn’t just one knight.

Only moments later, three more broke through what remained of the formation.

The squad leader’s eyes widened.

’Shit! They’ve brought knights,’ he thought. ’I need to step in!’

His gaze darted to the side.

Two other squad leaders, who’d been in charge of the ladders, had noticed what happened and immediately rushed over.

’’LET’S GO!’’

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

The fighting immediately intensified.

There was no formation to be seen anymore... just pure chaos.

And it wasn’t limited to just one location.

Around each of the three siege towers, the Deres knights were leading their soldiers onto the walls.

Even the Whitemane soldiers defending the ladders weren’t having a good time.

With so many men redirected toward the siege towers, their formations had become increasingly thin.

’’PUSH THEM OFF!’’

’’BREAK THE DAMN LADDER!’’

PUCHI!

A Deres soldier plunged his sword into a Whitemane spearman’s shoulder.

’’ARGH!’’

As the man stumbled back, another Deres soldier cut through his chest.

Before anyone could take the spearman’s place, two more enemy soldiers had climbed onto the wall.

’’SHIT! THEY’RE GETTING THRO— AH!’’

The situation was deteriorating rapidly.

But unfortunately... things were about to get even worse.

BOOOOOM!

A tremendous impact suddenly shook the city gate.

Arthur’s head snapped toward the sound.

’The battering rams!’

BOOOOOM!

Another strike followed.

Arthur gritted his teeth, his gaze briefly flickering toward the Deres camp.

’This can’t continue,’ he thought. ’Even if that means Aldric and Baldwin personally enter the battlefield.’

The Whitemane captains and soldiers were doing everything they could.

But the enemy had the advantage in numbers.

And if he simply sent more one-seal knights forward, Aldric would undoubtedly do the same.

Regardless of how it dragged out, Whitemane would eventually lose.

’I need to be decisive,’ he thought, clenching his fist. ’One blow to get rid of those towers.’

Once they regained control of the walls, dealing with the battering rams would become much easier.

Without another thought, Arthur turned toward Roderic and the two knights beside him.

’’RODERIC! ROLAND! BENJAMIN!’’

All three immediately looked toward him.

’’TAKE DOWN THOSE TOWERS!’’ he ordered. ’’CONSERVE AS MUCH AURA AS POSSIBLE!’’

Roderic immediately stopped tossing weapons.

A wide grin spread across his face.

’Finally!’

At the same time, Benjamin, who had just returned with another bundle of daggers, immediately dropped them.

Roland stepped forward as well, already reaching for his blade.

’’Yes, my lord!’’

The three exchanged a quick glance.

Then, without another word, they split up.

Arthur watched them leave for a moment before grabbing a passing soldier by the shoulder.

’’You!’’

’’M-MY LORD?!’’

The soldier stared at him with wide, fearful eyes.

’’Deliver a message to George and Henry. Tell them I need them here immediately!’’ Arthur continued. ’’And inform the squad commanders below. Have all remaining knights gather behind the gate!’’

The soldier nervously nodded.

’’Y-YES, MY LORD!’’ he said, his voice trembling.

Arthur released the poor soldier and pushed him forward.

’’GO!’’

The man immediately began running.

Meanwhile, Roderic was already racing toward the furthest siege tower.

Several short spears were still tucked beneath his arm from moments ago.

’Man, it’s about damn time,’ he thought. ’This place has become a mess!’

His gaze swept across the wall ahead of him.

Bodies from both sides littered the stones while nearly seventy men were still fighting one another.

CLANG! CLANG!

The sounds of their clashing blades echoed out loudly.

Roderic’s grin widened.

Without another thought, he pulled a short spear from beneath his arm.

’’LOOK HERE, MOTHERFUCKERS!’’

Sliding to a halt, Roderic hurled the spear with tremendous force.

WHOOSH!

It shot through the air.

Only a moment later, it reached its targets.

PUCHI! PUCHI!

The spear pierced through two Deres soldiers’ skulls before finally coming to a stop.

They looked like skewers on a stick as they collapsed.

It happened so quickly that the surrounding soldiers barely even noticed their deaths!

Roderic’s grin widened, another spear already in his hand.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Three short spears shot forward one after another.

PUCHI!

PUCHI!

PUCHI!

Each found its target, ending another life.

Satisfaction flickered across Roderic’s face.

’This must be what shooting ducks for sport feels like,’ he thought, tossing his final spear. ’How fun! I wish I could’ve enjoyed that in my previous life.’

WHOOSH!

PUCHI!

One of the Deres knights who’d just been fighting a squad leader collapsed.

A spear had pierced straight through his eye.

That was all it took.

Most of the soldiers from both sides turned to him in shock and horror.

Roderic chuckled faintly.

Then he cracked his neck, his expression turning slightly more serious.

’Alright. Enough of that.’

Aura wrapped around his legs as he drew his Azure Hook Blades.

His gaze locked onto the crowded wooden bridge.

’It’s time to take care of this situation before it gets worse.’
