My Glitched World Throne System Came Ten Years Too Early!
Chapter 155: The Real Fight
The expressions of the surrounding soldiers slowly began to change.
On the Whitemane side, hope and admiration began filling their expressions.
On the Deres side, however, there was only fury and fear.
Suddenly, one man from Deres’ side broke the tension.
’’GET HIM!’’ he shouted desperately. ’’IF YOU WANT TO LIVE, KILL HIM!’’
The knight broke away from his fight with the Whitemane squad leader and immediately charged toward Roderic.
Many ordinary soldiers followed him, desperation in their eyes.
They pushed through their former opponents, even risking death.
Roderic couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.
’It seems I’ve amassed quite the reputation,’ he thought, nodding slowly.
For a moment, he remained silent.
Then a wide smile appeared on his face.
’Isn’t that convenient? Now I don’t need to chase after them anymore!’
Within moments, the distance between him and the first knight had closed.
WHOOSH!
The man lunged forward, his aura-filled sword thrusting towards Roderic’s chest.
Unfortunately for him, Roderic had long seen it coming.
His smile grew wider as he flicked his blades to their hooked side and raised them both.
CLANG! CLANG!
The knight’s blade stopped in mid-air.
His arm trembled as he desperately tried to push it forward... but the hooked blades holding it were simply too strong.
Only a split second later, a golden light flickered through Roderic’s blade.
CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
Hundreds of fractures spread across the sword within seconds.
BOOM!
It exploded into thousands of tiny fragments.
The knight’s eyes widened slightly.
’’H—’’
SHHK!
Before he could utter a word, his head was severed from his neck.
Roderic didn’t linger around, though.
He instantly dashed forward into the group of ordinary soldiers.
Several Deres soldiers immediately raised their weapons.
Unfortunately, they were far too slow and filled with openings.
SHHK! SHHK! SHHK!
His azure blades cut through everything in their paths.
Three soldiers collapsed as their organs spilled out from deep cuts.
Before they even hit the ground, Roderic had already reached his next targets.
A soldier desperately swung his sword towards Roderic’s head.
’’DIE!’’ he shouted.
CLANG!
Roderic slashed through the weapon with one blade.
Instantly spinning around, his second blade slid across the man’s throat.
’That’s more like it!’ he thought, grinning with gritted teeth. ’Let’s see how you all like it when I’m at my full strength!’
The desperate fight for survival against the advance force still left a bitter taste in his mouth.
This was the perfect place to... freshen that taste.
Golden aura lit up around his legs in an instant.
’Third movement,’ he thought, grinning. ’Coiling Dragon.’
WHOOSH!
Roderic burst forward at immense speed.
The soldiers ahead of him barely had any time to react.
SHHK!
One man’s head flew into the air.
But Roderic was already gone.
His body shot forward, curving around the next soldier in one smooth motion.
SHHK!
Another head flew up.
He changed direction again, weaving between two Deres soldiers before either could raise their weapons.
SHHK! SHHK!
Both heads were severed in an instant.
’’FUCKING MONSTER!’’
’’STOP HI—’’
Another head flew up.
Roderic continued moving, his golden aura leaving faint trails behind him.
SHHK! SHHK! SHHK!
Head after head flew into the air.
The ordinary soldiers stood absolutely no chance.
’If only I’d understood this movement last time,’ he thought, smiling. ’Would’ve made the fight a lot easier.’
A Whitemane soldier suddenly appeared in his path, desperately fighting off two Deres soldiers.
Roderic twisted his body sideways.
He slipped past the Whitemane soldier without so much as touching him.
SHHK! SHHK!
Both Deres soldiers lost their heads in an instant.
’’W-WHAT?!’’
The Whitemane soldier stared in disbelief.
But Roderic was already gone.
His gaze was locked on the tower just a couple dozen meters away.
’Let’s get rid of their source first,’ he thought. ’That’ll make the clean-up a lot easier.’
It wasn’t like he could keep this movement active all the time either.
His aura was actually being consumed at quite a decent rate.
As he got closer to the tower, golden aura began to wrap around the sharp edges of his blades.
Roderic slowed slightly, rapidly scanning the enormous wooden structure ahead.
The tower was still filled with Deres soldiers, many of whom were desperately trying to reach the wall.
’Let’s bring some change to that.’
He tightened his grip around his weapons.
Then, while sliding to a halt, he swung one blade after the other.
WHOOOSH! WHOOOSH!
Two massive golden arcs shot forward, one after the other.
The faces of those on the wooden bridge grew deathly pale.
Unfortunately... there was nothing they could do.
SSHHHHHKKKK!
The arcs carved their bodies into several pieces.
Before the pieces could fall to the ground, the two arcs connected with the tower.
BOOOOOM!!!
Wooden beams shattered as massive diagonal cuts appeared across its upper structure.
The entire tower began trembling violently in an instant.
’’W-WHAT?!’’
’’IT’S COLLAPSING!’’
’’HELP ME, MOM!’’
The Deres soldiers still climbing up immediately began panicking.
Support beams began snapping one after another as the upper structure lost its support.
CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
BOOOOM!
Only seconds later, the entire upper section collapsed into the tower, burying everyone still inside beneath the wreckage.
The aura around Roderic’s body slowly faded.
’’Heh,’’ he said, turning around. ’’Would you look at that?’’
The remaining Deres soldiers stood frozen on the wall, their faces just as pale as those who’d just died.
’’No more reinforcements are coming for you,’’ he continued mockingly. ’’So what are you going to do now?’’
Meanwhile, the situation at the other two siege towers wasn’t much different.
BOOOOM!
Benjamin’s aura-covered spear tore through the wooden drawbridge, sending a dozen Deres soldiers plummeting to the ground.
At the final tower, Roland’s warhammer came crashing down.
CRAAAAACK!
The entire upper section shattered beneath the devastating impact.
With all three towers neutralized, the Whitemane soldiers finally began pushing back their enemies.
However, their celebration was short-lived.
BOOOOM!
Another impact shook the city gates.
Arthur’s expression darkened.
’’ARCHERS!’’ he shouted. ’’FIRE!’’
TWHANG! TWHANG! TWHANG!
Dozens of archers leaned over the wall and fired their arrows.
One after another, soldiers began collapsing.
The shields protecting the battering ram vanished alongside them.
’’FIRE AT WILL!’’ Arthur shouted.
His eyes narrowed as he glanced at the horizon.
A few dozen people had begun making their way to the battlefield.
Even from this distance, he could recognize their leaders perfectly.
Arthur slowly tightened his grip around his sword.
’’So you’ve finally decided to join the battle.’’
