My Lust System: I Inherited The Sin Of Lust And His Three Wives
Chapter 636 Abyssal Inheritance Threshold
Damian sat back down beneath the Abyssal Tree and summoned his status panel once more. The desolate landscape remained unchanged, with the enormous tree standing behind him and the wall of dead trees stretching across the horizon. Above them, the Abyss’s crimson eye watched his every movement.
Damian examined the figures hovering before him.
[Abyss Talent Tree Rejuvenation Process: 39%]
[Living Arts: 20%]
[Primal Soul: 30%]
[Elder Arts: 50%]
"I’ll continue with my Primal Soul next," he decided.
Damian raised his hand and began investing points.
Ten. Twenty. Thirty. Forty. Fifty. Sixty. Seventy. Eighty. Ninety. One hundred.
The status panel flickered, and a new notification appeared.
[Name: Abyssal Scarring]
[Type: Passive]
[Description: Those harmed by your Abyssal powers sustain Abyssal Scars, allowing you to be able to pinpoint their location no matter how far they run. These scars inflict pain comparable to severe burns, with the intensity increasing the closer you are to the target. At close range, the victim may begin experiencing mild hallucinations. Abyssal Scarring also prevents wounds from healing normally. Unlike injuries inflicted by divinity, Abyssal wounds rot and become infected. Those without a proper means of dispelling Abyssal Scars will most likely lose their lives from something as simple as a cut inflicted by you.]
Damian blinked in surprise.
He read the description twice, his expression gradually changing as he considered its implications.
"Not bad," he murmured.
Then he considered the implications more carefully.
If Abyssal Scarring affected all wounds inflicted by his Abyssal powers, it would complement nearly every offensive ability he possessed. His Abyssal Chains, Devil’s Hands, and the two slashing techniques he had recently acquired could all become significantly more dangerous.
He could weaken an opponent with repeated attacks, then allow the scars to do the rest. Even if the enemy managed to retreat, the wounds would continue to rot unless they possessed the means to remove the corruption.
Damian’s lips curved into a faint smile.
The Abyss might be an unpleasant benefactor, but it certainly understood the value of making an enemy regret ever encountering him.
Without hesitation, he continued investing points into Primal Soul.
Ten. Twenty. Thirty. Forty. Fifty. Sixty. Seventy. Eighty. Ninety. One hundred.
The panel flashed again.
[Name: Black Sun]
[Type: Active]
[Description: Summons a black sun that blocks out the sun and ushers in the night. Under the influence of the Black Sun, holy power is greatly weakened while your Abyssal power is doubled.]
Damian’s eyes widened slightly.
For the first time since beginning his investments, he felt that he had acquired an ability perfectly suited to his immediate plans.
Damian slowly nodded as he considered the possibilities.
"Not bad. Not bad at all." He glanced towards the crimson eye above the dead trees. "I actually need abilities that can help me fight the Heavens. This is really good."
His status panel updated.
[Abyss Talent Tree Rejuvenation Process: 46%]
[Living Arts: 20%]
[Primal Soul: 50%]
[Elder Arts: 50%]
Damian studied the figures, pleased with the progress. Primal Soul had reached fifty per cent, matching Elder Arts, and the overall rejuvenation process had advanced by another seven per cent.
He turned his attention back to Primal Soul and continued investing.
Ten. Twenty. Thirty. Forty. Fifty. Sixty. Seventy. Eighty. Ninety. One hundred.
The notification appeared almost immediately.
[Name: Void Dragon Physiology]
[Type: Passive / Active]
[Description: Allows you to tap into your Black Dragon lineage or transform entirely into a Black Dragon.]
For several seconds, Damian simply stared at the panel. Then his face broke into a broad smile.
"So that’s why."
Now it made sense why his spirit beast for the Abyssal inheritance was a dragon. Yet another thought occurred to him.
"Can I combine my Dark King Physiology with my Black Dragon Physiology?"
The crimson eye behind the dead trees shifted slightly.
"Yes... yes, you can," the Abyss answered.
Damian rubbed his chin and slowly nodded.
That was excellent news.
An armoured dragon was a far more formidable opponent than an ordinary nine-tailed fox, at least in terms of raw physical devastation.
Damian could not help but wonder how powerful such a form would become once he reached the God realm.
Damian began investing points.
Ten. Twenty. Thirty. Forty. Fifty. Sixty. Seventy. Eighty. Ninety. One hundred.
The panel flickered.
[Name: Abyssal Armament]
[Type: Active]
[Description: Allows you to transform parts of your body into living weapons. Damage dealt by these weapons can inflict Abyssal Scarring.]
Damian nodded in satisfaction. This was another practical ability.
His body could now serve as an arsenal of living weapons, allowing him to form claws, blades, and other offensive structures without relying entirely on external equipment. More importantly, these weapons could inflict Abyssal Scarring, allowing him to combine the ability with his newly acquired passive.
His status panel updated once more.
[Abyss Talent Tree Rejuvenation Process: 50%]
[Living Arts: 40%]
[Primal Soul: 50%]
[Elder Arts: 50%]
Damian rose to his feet and examined the figures. He dismissed the panel and turned towards the enormous crimson eye.
There was, however, one matter he needed to settle before leaving.
"If I reach the God realm, do you think I can kill Asmodeus and completely control the power of my Lust inheritance?"
The Abyss regarded him silently for a moment before answering.
"Yes. With what you have unlocked already, once you enter the God realm, you should be able to do away with the spirit of Lust and take his place."
Damian’s expression brightened.
"However," the Abyss continued, "it will still be a difficult battle. It would be best to wait until you have recovered your soul or become considerably stronger. Only then will you be able to defeat him without placing even more strain on your soul."
Damian fell silent.
The advice made sense. His soul had already suffered considerable damage during his battles with Dantalion and Lazarus. Although he had managed to survive, the consequences remained. Every major confrontation with a powerful entity carried the risk of worsening his condition, and Asmodeus was not an opponent he could afford to underestimate.
The spirit of Lust had existed long before Damian acquired the inheritance. He possessed knowledge, experience, and abilities that Damian had yet to master. Even if reaching the God realm gave Damian the strength to challenge him, victory would not necessarily come without a price.
There was no point in winning a battle only to leave himself crippled for the conflicts that followed.
Damian slowly nodded.
"Very well. I’ll wait until then."
