Damian opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling.

For several seconds, he remained still, enjoying the unfamiliar sensation spreading through his body. His mind was clear, his limbs felt light, and the exhaustion that had plagued him after Zepar’s attack had disappeared completely. Even the lingering discomfort from his damaged soul seemed less noticeable.

He had slept well before, but this was different.

It felt as though he had been stripped of every burden weighing upon him and allowed to rest in a way he had never experienced before. His body was refreshed, his mind sharp, and his energy reserves felt considerably fuller than they had the previous night.

Damian exhaled contentedly.

’Now this is what sleep should feel like.’

He sat up and rubbed his eyes, his long hair spilling over his shoulders. The familiar bedroom came into view. Sunlight filtered through the windows, illuminating the room in soft golden hues.

His gaze eventually settled on the sofas near the windows.

Elsa sat there with a teacup in hand, her golden hair cascading over her shoulders. She appeared to have been waiting for him to wake up, though the expression on her face suggested that she had spent the time thinking about something rather unpleasant.

When their eyes met, she hesitated and Damian frowned.

"What’s up?"

Elsa lowered her teacup.

"Shouldn’t I be the one asking that? You’re the one who keeps changing overnight."

Damian blinked.

"What?"

"You heard me." She took another sip of tea, her emerald eyes never leaving him. "Yesterday, you went to bed looking perfectly normal. This morning, I find myself wondering whether my husband has decided to become an entirely different species while I wasn’t looking."

Damian stared at her. For a moment, he wondered whether she was joking. However, the seriousness in her expression suggested otherwise.

He glanced down at himself. Nothing seemed particularly unusual at first. His hands were where they should be, his robes were still loosely draped over his body, and he could feel the familiar presence of his Abyssal inheritance within him.

Still, something about Elsa’s words bothered him.

Damian pushed himself off the bed and walked towards the nearest mirror. He blinked in suprise because the man standing on the other side of the mirror was strange and almost unrecognisable.

Black dragon scales covered large portions of his body, their dark surfaces gleaming faintly beneath the sunlight. They extended across his shoulders, arms, and chest, interspersed with strange black tattoos edged in crimson. The markings seemed to follow the contours of his muscles, forming intricate patterns that looked less like ordinary tattoos and more like something etched into his flesh by an ancient power.

His frame had also grown considerably.

Damian had already been an imposing figure at fifteen feet tall, but the reflection before him stood nearly eighteen feet tall. His shoulders were broader, his arms thicker, and his entire body possessed a density that made him resemble a living fortress. Even his face had changed, its features appearing sharper beneath the unfamiliar markings.

Then he noticed the horns.

Two black horns emerged from his head, curving backwards with a faint crimson sheen along their ridges.

Damian slowly raised a hand and touched one of them. The horn was solid.

He tilted his head and the reflection did the same.

For several seconds, Damian stared at himself in silence. Then he looked down at his hands again, examining the scales covering his knuckles.

What the hell?

He flexed his fingers. The scales shifted naturally with the movement, and the crimson markings running along his arms seemed to deepen in colour.

There was no pain or discomfort. If anything, the transformation felt perfectly natural, as though his body had merely corrected itself into a more suitable form.

That made it even stranger. The reflection reminded him of Kaizer.

Not in appearance, exactly, but in the sheer physical presence. Both possessed bodies that seemed designed to intimidate before a fight even began.

Unfortunately, that was precisely the problem.

He could hardly walk into the Imperial Capital looking like this without attracting attention. The Council of Princes was already a gathering in an hour or so. The last thing he needed was to arrive looking like he had undergone some mysterious transformation overnight.

Elsa’s voice interrupted his thoughts.

"So? Have you figured it out?"

Damian glanced at her through the mirror.

"I absorbed the remnants of Majin’s power that Zepar tried to use against me. That allowed me to awaken more of my Abyssal inheritance."

Elsa nodded lightly. "That explains a lot."

She set her teacup on the table and rose from the sofa.

Damian turned back towards his reflection, frowning as he considered his options. The transformation might have been useful in combat, but its current appearance was far too conspicuous. He needed a way to suppress it before leaving the palace.

Fortunately, that was hardly beyond his capabilities.

He snapped his fingers.

Purple smoke erupted around his body, swallowing his enormous frame in a thick cloud. The smoke twisted around him for a few seconds before gradually dispersing, revealing his familiar fifteen-foot form beneath it.

The black dragon scales vanished. The horns disappeared, and the crimson-edged markings faded from his skin. His shoulders returned to their usual proportions, leaving him looking much as he had before going to sleep.

Damian examined his reflection one last time and nodded.

"Much better."

He had barely finished speaking when a pair of arms wrapped around his waist from behind.

Elsa pressed herself against his back, her golden hair brushing his shoulder as she rested her chin against him. Her hands settled over his abdomen, and her emerald eyes met his through the mirror.

"You should have let me get a taste of you in your new form before shapeshifting."

Damian’s mouth twitched.

Of course, he should have known that Elsa would find some way to turn his transformation into an opportunity for herself.

He shook his head, a tired smile appearing on his face.

"We can continue when I get back from the Council meeting."

Elsa’s expression immediately changed.

"That’s still hours away."

"Unfortunately."

She tightened her arms around him, clearly dissatisfied with the answer. Her hands began moving lower, and Damian caught them before they could reach their intended destination.

He turned his head slightly.

"Elsa."

She looked up at him with innocent eyes.

"What?"

"You know what."

"I don’t."

Damian gave her a flat look through the mirror.

Elsa smiled.

For someone who had lived for thousands of years and ruled an entire divine territory, she could be remarkably shameless when she wanted something. Damian sometimes wondered whether her royal dignity existed only for public appearances.

He gently moved her hands away and turned to face her.

"I can’t be late for this. The Council meeting is important."

Elsa pouted. She leaned closer, lowering her voice.

"At least let me take you in my mouth. I’ll make you ejaculate only once. Please?"

Damian exhaled through his nose.

"Just once."

Elsa’s face brightened immediately.

"Yes. Once. Then we leave it at that." She nodded enthusiastically, her smile growing so wide that Damian began to suspect he had just made a terrible mistake.

Damian narrowed his eyes. "Elsa."

"What?" She asked.

"Don’t make me regret this."

She rose onto her toes and kissed him lightly. "I would never."

He looked at her for another moment before shaking his head.
