My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building
Chapter 441: Sneak Attack
This made the Third Elder of the Celestial Mountain Sect’s expression change. He scanned his surroundings, fully alert.
He had to be extremely cautious. The enemy’s methods were simply too bizarre; he had no idea where his opponent was, nor could he detect when they attacked.
He immediately sent a sound transmission to Chu Feng, asking for the ninja’s location.
“Venerable Chu Feng, can you see where he is?”
The Third Elder of the Celestial Mountain Sect was being very careful. Without Chu Feng, he had no advantage whatsoever and would be easily toyed with by his opponent.
“He’s standing motionless about three meters in front of you,” Chu Feng advised via sound transmission. “But be on your guard. That guy is definitely cooking up some nasty scheme. Be careful and don’t let him know you’ve spotted him.”
“Understood. Thank you, Venerable Chu Feng!” The Third Elder of the Celestial Mountain Sect now knew what to do, and his gaze turned grim.
“You can let him get in a sneak attack. Let him think he’s won,” Chu Feng said. “Then you can use that opening to kill him in a single strike.”
Because the last ninja had been slain in a single blow, this one was keeping his distance, staring intently from several meters away without making any rash moves.
If the Third Elder of the Celestial Mountain Sect made any move, the ninja would surely dodge instantly to avoid any direct engagement.
That being the case, the only option was to make the opponent lower his guard. Only then could they get an opportunity for a kill in one blow.
Letting the enemy land a sneak attack and taking a minor wound was a small price to pay.
After all, for an expert at the Martial Arts Peak Realm, such a minor injury was nothing.
And so, the Third Elder of the Celestial Mountain Sect began his career as a thespian.
The young Wo Country ninja attacked relentlessly. Under Chu Feng’s guidance, the Third Elder of the Celestial Mountain Sect had several close calls, nearly being killed and accumulating several new cuts on his body.
This performance thoroughly frightened the Martial Arts Venerables watching from below. Even the Seven Kills Sword Master jumped to his feet in alarm several times, his expression utterly grim.
At that moment, Chu Feng walked over and sat down beside the Seven Kills Sword Master.
“You’re finally here. There isn’t much time left for you. You should get up there and fight a round,” the Seven Kills Sword Master said.
“Me? We’ll see. With my meager skills, I’m afraid I’d just embarrass myself,” Chu Feng replied.
“This is no time for false modesty. We’ve all witnessed your strength; we all know how powerful you are. We are facing cultivators from the Wo Country now. There should be no friction between the Twelve Sects of the Great Snow Mountain. We must cast aside all grievances and act as one!” the Seven Kills Sword Master urged.
“Sword Master, don’t you worry. When it’s my turn, I’ll go,” Chu Feng said, his tone casual, as if he couldn’t care less about the whole affair.
The Seven Kills Sword Master’s expression faltered. He was, to put it mildly, extremely displeased with Chu Feng’s attitude.
The man was far too arrogant. He had no manners, showed no respect, and acted like his power made him a god, devoid of even the most basic courtesy.
If it weren’t for the Martial Arts Grand Ceremony and Chu Feng’s status as a Martial Arts Venerable, the Seven Kills Sword Master would have challenged him to a fight right then and there—to test his strength and teach him a lesson about his errors.
The Seven Kills Sect could be said to rank first among the Twelve Sects of the Great Snow Mountain; its status and power were immense.
While the Seven Kills Sect wasn’t usually high-profile or arrogant, it absolutely could not tolerate cultivators who showed them disrespect.
Yet Chu Feng was precisely that kind of person—casual and nonchalant with everyone he met, holding no one in high regard.
Never mind the Sword Master; many of the other Martial Arts Venerables were likely just as dissatisfied with this attitude. They simply kept their mouths shut because of his power.
“I don’t know if the Third Elder can win this time!” another Martial Arts Venerable from the Celestial Mountain Sect said from the side, his face etched with worry.
He was deeply concerned about this battle, terrified that something might go wrong.
The Third Elder of the Celestial Mountain Sect was already wounded—quite a few times, in fact—and his clothes were in tatters.
Chu Feng saw this and was left a little speechless. ‘I told him to put on an act, but I didn’t expect the Third Elder of the Celestial Mountain Sect to get so into character. He actually let himself get hurt, and the wounds aren’t exactly light, either.’
“Alright, enough playing around. The guy has let his guard down. He’s on your right, about to make a move. Remember to dodge backward, and after that, I’ll leave it to you,” Chu Feng said via sound transmission.
“Good. This time, I’m sending him to the Western Heaven,” the Third Elder of the Celestial Mountain Sect said with a nod.
He had taken so many cuts just to lull this young Wo Country ninja into a false sense of security. Rage had long been simmering in his heart.
Still, the ninja from the Wo Country was undeniably powerful. Given a few more years, he would likely become even stronger.
“He’s making his move!” Chu Feng’s transmission came again.
“Mm,” the Third Elder of the Celestial Mountain Sect grunted in acknowledgment. His expression shifted slightly, a hint of apprehension appearing in his eyes.
Chu Feng could feel the Third Elder’s tension, the trace of fear.
After all, the slightest mistake would mean death!
