My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building
Chapter 442: I'll Go Myself
'Death would be the end of it, and such a disgraceful one at that. I'd bring shame upon the entire Celestial Mountain Sect and Great Snow Mountain.'
At that moment, the crowd watching from below had no idea of the danger the Third Elder of the Celestial Mountain Sect was facing.
As he inched forward, the thrilling tension made the Third Elder of the Celestial Mountain Sect's heart pound in his chest.
But he forced himself to remain calm. 'I absolutely cannot get nervous now. I can't make a single mistake.'
The young Wo Country Ninja across from him was also extremely nervous. After all, one of his companions had already been cut down and killed by this very Third Elder of the Celestial Mountain Sect.
So he watched with extreme caution.
The moment the Third Elder of the Celestial Mountain Sect shifted his feet slightly, the man saw his chance and struck with his blade!
SWISH!
A flash of the blade slashed out in an instant. The man's attack was incredibly fast.
However, the Celestial Mountain Sect's Elder had already sensed it and quickly retreated several steps.
At the same time, he swung the Battle Saber in his hand in a wide, sweeping slash.
The Cultivators watching from below were all shocked, and many cried out in alarm.
Both combatants had just unleashed what seemed to be a final, decisive blow. Who would emerge victorious? No one could be sure.
But the result became clear in an instant.
The Third Elder of the Celestial Mountain Sect easily dodged the attack while simultaneously cleaving his opponent in two at the waist with his Battle Saber.
The young Wo Country Ninja was killed instantly, his body severed into two halves as blood gushed forth. Even in death, his eyes were filled with horror and disbelief.
He couldn't believe he had been slain. His face was a mask of regret.
In truth, since the two had taken the stage, the fight hadn't been particularly intense; it was more that both had been extremely cautious.
It was only this final moment that felt truly fierce, stirring a profound excitement in the hearts of the onlookers.
"He won!" the Cultivators below cried out, shouting in great excitement.
"Yes! Excellent! Cut down those Wo Country runts!" a Cultivator roared, finally able to vent his frustrations.
"You worthless punks! I'll cut down as many of you as you send!" the Third Elder of the Celestial Mountain Sect sneered, his eyes filled with contempt.
His gaze was full of enmity as he stared daggers at the Wo Country Martial Cultivators below the stage.
"One-Sword Style!" the Wo Country Martial Cultivators cried out in alarm. The horror and disbelief in their eyes were plain to see.
The man they called One-Sword Style was a genius from the Wo Country. Though young, he was far stronger than many Ninja of the older generation. His future should have been incredibly bright.
Yet who would have thought he would fall in a place like this.
"You're courting death!" At that moment, a Wo Country Ninja recklessly rushed onto the stage to retrieve the corpse of One-Sword Style.
"Heh, us, courting death?" the Third Elder of the Celestial Mountain Sect retorted angrily. "You're the ones who came to our Great Xia to die! If you dare step onto this stage, death is certain! If you don't want to die, then get the hell back to your Wo Island!"
His voice was immense, booming like thunder.
This was incredibly cathartic for the Great Xia Cultivators in the audience. In the beginning, these Wo Country Ninja had been far too arrogant, relying on their stealth to go on a killing spree and slaughtering many of their own.
Now, seeing two of them cut down in succession, everyone felt an unprecedented and deeply satisfying rush.
"I will be the one to cut you down!" At that moment, another person stepped forward from the Wo Country side, clearly enraged as well.
This man was also short, probably not even five feet tall, but he had a stocky, powerful build that radiated explosive strength.
"Third Elder, you should get some rest," the Seven Kills Sword Master said to the Third Elder of the Celestial Mountain Sect.
He had fought two consecutive matches and was injured, so the Seven Kills Sword Master wanted to swap him out to rest.
"Xue Fengjian, you go deal with him," the Seven Kills Sword Master then said to Xue Fengjian, who was standing nearby.
However, as soon as Xue Fengjian heard this, his face fell.
"Sword Master, my Snow Sword Sect has already suffered grievous losses. Xue Wujian is dead! Why are you sending us up again?" Xue Fengjian said, clearly unwilling to go onto the stage.
After all, stepping onto that stage meant a battle to the death, one that wouldn't end until someone fell.
So it was understandable that anyone would shrink back from it.
"Are you the one in charge, or am I?" the Seven Kills Sword Master asked, giving him a sidelong glance.
"Sword Master, need you even ask? Of course it's you. But of the Great Snow Mountain's Twelve Sects, many still haven't sent anyone up. You should call on one of the Sects that hasn't fought yet. It seems the Seven Kills Sect hasn't had anyone make a move," Xue Fengjian said.
"That's right. The Seven Kills Sect hasn't made a move this entire time. Isn't it about time they did?" the Martial Arts Venerable from the Snow Mountain Sect chimed in with a nod.
These men were clearly dissatisfied with the Seven Kills Sword Master. From the very beginning, not a single person from the Seven Kills Sect had stepped onto the stage, while the other Sects had suffered many casualties.
"Since you all feel that way, I'll go myself," the Seven Kills Sword Master said, his voice cold and sharp. He then lifted his sword and walked directly toward the stage.
