My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building
Chapter 454: Refining a Magical Artifact
After all, Chu Feng and Jiang Tao were incredibly close. If someone offended Jiang Tao and Chu Feng found out about it, they wouldn’t even know what hit them.
“Alright, Brother Chu, my master and I will get going then,” Jiang Tao said with a smile. “We’ll see each other in Beihai. You have to let me know when you’re back so I can give you a proper welcome.”
He and Chu Feng were extremely close, especially since Chu Feng had saved his life so many times.
After they left, Su Miaoke said, “I never would’ve thought Brother Jiang would take on a master to study something like astrology and mysticism.”
“It’s not that surprising. But I hope he studies hard, and I’m sure his master will teach him well,” Chu Feng said.
In truth, Chu Feng felt a deeper connection with Jiang Tao—at least, deeper than his friendship with Zhao Liu.
While he was also on good terms with Zhao Liu, it just wasn’t the same as with Jiang Tao. Their bond wasn’t deep enough for them to be true confidants.
The main reason was Jiang Tao’s sincere loyalty. For Chu Feng’s wedding, Jiang Tao had personally handled everything, spending more than half a month organizing the entire affair.
The wedding itself was incredibly lavish and grand, complete with private jets and luxury cars, making news across the globe.
If he hadn’t deliberately suppressed the media attention surrounding the wedding, all sorts of information about him would have likely been dug up and exposed.
“Darling, what were you and Brother Jiang’s master talking about just now? You two were being so secretive, not letting us in on it,” Su Miaoke asked.
“It was nothing. I just wanted to sound him out and see if he was only after Jiang Tao’s money. It doesn’t seem like that’s the case, though. He genuinely wants to take Jiang Tao as his disciple,” Chu Feng said.
“Is that really all you talked about?” Su Miaoke asked, still a little skeptical.
“Of course, that was it. Well, he did trade something with me for two Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones,” Chu Feng said.
“A trade? What could possibly be worth two Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones to you?” Su Miaoke asked in surprise.
Even though she hadn’t been cultivating for long, she knew how precious Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones were.
A single one was priceless and simply couldn’t be bought. No one would ever sell them.
They could only be obtained through trade, as gifts, or if you were lucky enough to find a mine. Otherwise, they were impossible to get.
“This is it.” Chu Feng took out the compass with a wide smile, clearly pleased with himself.
The Eight Trigrams Compass in Chu Feng’s hand looked ancient and worn.
Many parts were worn smooth and shiny with age, having clearly outlived countless owners.
Su Miaoke’s curiosity was piqued. She picked up the compass to examine it, but as soon as she held it, her expression changed.
“It’s so heavy! Is it filled with iron?” Su Miaoke asked with a frown.
She examined it for a while but couldn’t find anything unusual about the compass. Aside from its weight, it seemed completely ordinary.
“This thing doesn’t look valuable at all. It’s a few hundred years old at most. Didn’t you get ripped off trading two Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones for it? A single one of those could sell for a billion and would be snatched up in a second. Were you just gifting them to him? Because of Brother Jiang?” Su Miaoke said.
“At first, I was just curious to see it. He asked to trade for one Martial Cultivation Spirit Stone, so I was going to give him one regardless of its value. But after I examined it, I realized I wouldn’t be at a loss even if I’d traded ten Spirit Stones for it.”
“To you, it might not look much different from any other compass—just an old antique. But in reality, this is a Magical Artifact!” Chu Feng said, his smile unable to hide his excitement.
“Huh? A Magical Artifact? What’s that?” Su Miaoke asked, unfamiliar with the term.
“Magical Artifacts can only be wielded by truly powerful experts, not ordinary Martial Cultivators. Anyone who possesses a Magical Artifact is bound to be incredibly strong—far beyond the Martial Arts Peak! This thing might look like it’s a few hundred years old, but I estimate it’s actually been around for millennia,” Chu Feng explained.
“I still don’t really get it,” Su Miaoke said, looking at Chu Feng.
“Never mind. It’s not something I can explain in just a few minutes anyway. You and Senior Sister Bai Han should head back to the Celestial Sword Sect first. It’s going to get dangerous if you wait any longer,” Chu Feng said.
Su Miaoke didn’t understand any of this, so explaining further would just be a waste of breath.
“Alright, then I’ll wait for you at the Celestial Sword Sect. You have to come back safe and sound, you hear me!” Su Miaoke said.
“Okay, don’t worry about me. I have something to take care of in a bit. You should go with your Senior Sister Bai Han now,” Chu Feng said. He couldn’t wait to refine the Magical Artifact, the Eight Trigrams Compass.
Even though it was just a compass, once he refined it, his power would surge dramatically.
It was like adding an ultimate weapon to his arsenal. With it, he’d be embarrassed if his strength didn’t increase by severalfold.
In his current situation, however, Chu Feng didn’t really need to use this Magical Artifact. After all, his power was already approaching invincibility.
He could take down even an expert at the Martial Arts Limit with just a few punches.
